How can you knock out all these tactics? Surely there's an art to making a really good one and not 10? One must be better than the rest if you tested them against each other in a league? It's not a criticism, it just overwhelms my OCD
I do that because i did run over idk maybe 500k games on simulation and i came up with a "Template" and from that you can work and go however you like to play the tactic.
Point about football in general not even FM, there are some shape that counter others, that's why there is not a "best" tactic, but maybe that kind of football is better.
Example if Guardiola try to play his tiki-taka or vertical taka or w/e we do wanna call it, it is applicable for every team? or do you need a certain players pool?
Klopp, he needs players ready to die over the pitch otherwise it can be easy countered and it's very unstable like it's happening this year that players looking like they are boiled
About FM now, it works same way about "counter", so maybe a shape would work better against a certain shape and worst vs another.
Just to give you out an idea, a guy from my discord asked to chatGPT :
4-4-2 Diamond - Effective against 4-2-3-1, 4-1-4-1, and 4-3-3 formations, as it can control the central midfield area with a dedicated defensive midfielder and two central midfielders. 4-2-3-1 - Effective against 4-3-3, 4-4-2, and 3-5-2 formations, as it can exploit the space between the opposition's defense and midfield with attacking midfielders and wingers. 4-3-3 - Effective against 4-4-2, 4-1-4-1, and 3-5-2 formations, as it can dominate the central midfield area with three midfielders, and stretch the opposition's defense with wingers. 4-1-4-1 - Effective against 4-4-2, 3-5-2, and 4-2-3-1 formations, as it can control the central midfield area with a dedicated defensive midfielder and four midfielders, and press high up the pitch. 5-3-2 - Effective against 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, and 4-1-4-1 formations, as it can create a compact defense with three center-backs and two wing-backs, and break quickly on the counter-attack. 3-5-2 - Effective against 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3, and 4-4-2 formations, as it can overload the central midfield area with three central midfielders, and create width with wing-backs. 4-5-1 - Effective against 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1, and 4-1-4-1 formations, as it can control the central midfield area with five midfielders, and break quickly on the counter-attack with a lone striker.
Now you can come with me, that what you believe is the best it might be the more stable. GD and other stuff are just for the looking.
For example, on my saint career, i did played every single game on away games on cautious mentality and adapted during the game flow.
So,if you just wanna play the best you need to understand in what kind of scenario the tactic were tested first of all. Do you like the way the football is played? Etc, etc. This one from my table did very good and is very stable.
