Name: Adam Ryan

Coach Ryan lands his first job with a very good club in Bulgaria, and with four coaches in the top ten for Hall of Fame, looks to have some doubters in mind. Especially when the club is predicted to finish first in the league. Some of supporters have already question Ryan's ability as he has fired three coaches on the staff. Plus all of his scouts (2) and Physio's (4). Not only did he get rid of some coaches the Board has stated, "We feel our current staff is fine. If coach Ryan wants to get rid of coaches he doesn't see fit, or can't get along with is fine by us, but he shouldn't think that he can hire anyone he wants this year." Adam Ryan went on to take a very successful 4-3-3 lineup and now has changed the formation to a 4-1-2-3 formation. He also went on to sign one player before the new year and that was in a 18 year old striker from Heartland in Joshua Obaje. He is only 18 so Ryan has stated that he will be a backup, but will be on the senior squad. Obaje was listed around 400K, but CSKA got him at 110K.

Pre-Season has come and gone. While the team looked good posting a 4-0-2 record, they showed they can score with anyone as they scored at least one goal in five of the six games. The only scoreless game they had was against Most who won 1-0 on a PK kick on the third game. The next game they lost would be three games later, also the last game before the season and Euro Cup qualifiers start up. This would be a game they expected to lose to (Benfica), but they did score a goal in the second half to tie it at 1-1 before eventually falling with an 87th minute score. Still the team looked good with the record, but was very good in the goal stats as they outscored their opponents 11-4.

With pre-season over some fans are coming around to the new coach, but with the board still not too impressed as they stated, "Its only pre-season, not its time to see what you do when the competition is at its best!" Coach Ryan fired back in the papers and soon looks to be a very vocal coach with this statement. "The Board wants me to make money, win the league, do good in the cups, and yet they won't let me bring in my own coaching staff. On top of that they are still weary of my tactics and is showing as if they regret signing me as coach. I even wanted to play the players higher bonuses this year, but since the Board is so interested in making money they told me that they are going to pay out low bonuses. I will keep this moral up, bu the Board is going to have to let me have the keys to this team so I can get this team to where they want it." While it is a boost for the players, some of the fans are taken back by his comments and are unsure the coach might be talking a little too much.

With that as the season starts Coach Ryan also sold one of his players in 17 year old GK Bozhidar Stoychev for 5K to Silven 2000. Rumor has it that coach Ryan is interested in a couple of people and might be selling at least one more player, but as of no this is all heresy.

The 6-0 rout is the biggest win in history for CSKA and it only took the new coach one game to do it. It has convinced most season ticket holders that the inexperience coach (only was a Sunday League player) is the right guy at the helm. Too bad the supporters are only 300 right now, but coach Ryan isn't too worried about that right now. "I'm new so people are curious and want to see how we do when we get into the season." Coach Ryan would keep the squad basically intact for the second game with only opting to go with a younger goal keeper (20 year old Ivan Karadzhov) instead of 36 year old Ivaylo Petrov. With the 6-0 win in the first leg, coach Ryan had to readjust things when he lost a player to a Red Card (2 yellows) in the 55th minute.

Prior to the first game Coach Ryan did sign a new player. This got the fans excited as he was listed at 2.6 million and they got him for 160K. Coach Ryan has faith and despite the low price thought he would be good for the club, and apparently was since he started both qualifiers.

Coach Ryan Breaks another Record

This time it took six games (seven games played this month) for the new coach to knock off another record. It would be for most consecutive wins as they posted a 3-1-0 league record and 2-0-0 in the European Cup Qual's. The last game of the month would be a face off against Litex who was winless with a 0-1-3 record. CSKA would jump out to a 2-0 lead, but then all things would go wrong as they would lose 4-2 with one of those goals being an own goal. Still coach Ryan was upbeat about the first month despite being in fifth place (sorry I played another game so I don't have the table). "With a new head coach, and losing some coaches the moral and chemistry is sometimes off. I know we are suppose to win the league, but I think we had an exceptional month especially when we outscored our opponents 12-4."

After CSKA made it pass the qualifying rounds they were the third seed for the drawing and came way with a very tough group by what the experts are saying. Coach Ryan believed it to be somewhat true with this statement. "Look we have Club Brugge and LOSC Lille Metropole who are both very good clubs, but they are also beatable on certain days. I am not saying we will win 8/10 times but we don't play 10 times in a sitting. We just need to be prepared and relax and still with our gameplan."

Looks really interesting mate, best of luck :)

Thanks. I am glad that someone is interested in it. Asked for a challenge and this is what I was told. Hopefully we shall see how it goes. I hope that people enjoy it.

Coach Ryan again breaks a record

Another month goes by and this is not a record of fame or a true record, but they have got their first successful month of going undefeated. Most people wouldn't see it that much, but its another stepping stone for the new coach. During their five game month (4-1-0) in which they started in fifth place they outscored their opponents 14-2, and are currently sitting in first place by four points. Three of the games were at home which came consecutively. Still most of their success was away where they were 2-0-0 with a 8-1 goals difference. While in the first two months (pre-season and the first month) they only had one injury for 3 days. In the previous month they had six injuries (five are still injured going into October), and two suspensions in that process as well.

Games:

With the injuries coach Ryan has backed away from bringing in subs, if he can help it, and mostly trying to run with two squads giving the other one a day off when the other plays. As of now it is working, again going 4-1-0 this month, but with these injuries though the fans are wondering if this means that coach Ryan will start spending the rest of their transfer budget (998K left). Again I forgot to save one of the games so the game against Slavia at home we won 4-0.

Monthly League Review:

Coach Ryan looks to be losing control over his players. Sure its still a close race in the league, and during their four games they were 2-1-1, but the lost was very damaging. It was against Cherno more who was in second place when they met (again didn't save game and lost 2 other games sorry). CSKY had a 1-0 lead at half, but after some mental breakdowns in the final third they lost 2-1. Also every game this month, including the two EC games, the usually stout defense gave up at least one goal every game.

So one of the two games I didn't save was an EC game. It was against Rosenborg. With Ryan's team going 1-1 this month, and so far 1-1-1 for the first round is exactly what Ryan wanted. "We knew we would win one game. On the best hope was we were going to steal another win and come up with a tie. The worst scenario was going to be 0-1-2. We just came out with what I think everyone else was thinking and that was the results we got. Still we are in good shape and now we just have to buckle down hard on the away games and hopefully come out on top."

Monthly League Review:

With five games this week it looked as if CSKA would be out in one tournament. With the Bulgarian league cup starting up, and with the second leg of the European Cup (two more next month) it looked as if something had to go. However it was apparently that coach Ryan decided that he could have this team be in both tournaments with the cost of not worrying about the league. He didn't come out to say it, but that is how it looked. Ryan did open his mouth this month and it was too the officials.

League Games:

View attachment 69193

With the least amount of league games all year (3) the team had its worst outing. They were win less this month with a 0-2-1 record and how has saw them dip in the standings. With still fifteen games left coach Ryan has the end of the season marquee matchups. Two of the last four games are against the two teams that are ahead of CSKA

This is where Coach Ryan made his mark. He has already been vocal about the board and the fans, but now he has gone after the officials. After the loss to the game coach Ryan blantely said that the ref not only once, but twice misused his whistle that should of held to two goals for his team which would of made them win. "The players played with all their heart, and did a wonderful job. It's not their fault that the scoreboard said we lost. We knew we won, the announcers knew we won, the fans knew we won. **** even their fans did which is why they actually showed us respect on the way out. They knew it was a hard fought game. They got their money's worth."

I guess that will be my goal as well to win by the third season. Yeah I see it very hard to bring in people. I tried to bring in two americans who are very good and cheap but i couldn't do it.

DECEMBER and JANUARY

Monthly Review:

For two months there was only three games, and none of them were for the League game. So the standings still stay the same which keeps them in third place. With all three games in cups it looked as if CSKA had to make a choice of which one they wanted to succeed in. Coach Ryan looked decided to go for the long shot for the European Cup instead of just the local Bulgarian Cup. "Its not that the Bulgarian Cup is a lesser competition, but the team we were playing against was of lesser competition. We thought if we rested our regular team, that we could still survive both." is what coach Ryan had to say. What is worst is that it backfired in the Bulgarian Cup, and lost huge in the game; however, the resting of player did work. They would win their first game, but they would have to beat Brugge in which they lost the first game by two. When the rematch game they were hungry and would destory them in the second half to push their way past the EC qual's.

Transfers

Coach Ryan lost two players off of free transfers from his senior squad while both were subs on the senior team. One of the players (Todorov) actually was sold at the beginning of the year for 1.6 million to a team, but they already brought in 8 foreigners so they had to cancel the deal. From going from 1.6 million to a free transfer is hard, but with his unhappiness was affecting the team so I guess it was a good thing for him to leave. The other person is on loan for the rest of the year and was on the reserve squad.

Interesting story this is and congrats on qualifying from the group stages of the Euro cup.

You have Platini mate, :) best of luck, i will follow

Platini is great although I doubt I will have him after the year. I can't buy him with lack of funds, and I don't have the best luck of loaning people back to me after the initial season.

Interesting story this is and congrats on qualifying from the group stages of the Euro cup.

Thanks I have some idea's to change it up for season two, and thanks for the congrats. It was short lived but still great.

February and March 2010

February

Well my brother came home to visit today (he is actually the coach in my game). Played the month while he was hear while we talked and hung out, and for some reason I only actually saved one game. I apologize for that, and don't feel like it is worth it just posting the one game so I will just recap it what happened.

LEAGUE GAMES
@ Sportist (Svoge) 2-2 (Up 2-nil at half and then they got 2 PK's to tie up the game)
Chernomorets (Burgas) 3-0
@ Loko (Mezdra) 3-0

EC
Olympiakas 4-2
@ Olympiakas 3-2

March

View attachment 69795

Seven games for the month of March. With the second half of the season on its way and the second knockout round for the EC got very hard for CSKA. With four wins out of five games they still are in third, but with just seven games left and five points behind first looks as if CSKA can get back on track since they are now out of the European Cup. Still injuries are hitting the team as five players injured.

"We knew this was going to be a very tough leg for us. I think about 99 percent of the world knew we were going to lose. The only ones who knew we had a chance I think was everyone on this team. I though we played a very good game at home, but being in the hole 2-0 going on the road to play we knew our chances was tough. We told the team after the second game that despite losing the game and being knocked out that we were still very impressed and proud of how they didn't let up even when we were totally out of it." said Ryan after the second leg.

Four games down this month. CSKA still in third place, but have made it a very interesting last month of play. Again, coach Ryan made news again with his vocal opinion. Still despite that the team has rally together as they went 3-1-0 and with the goals differential of +8 (13-5). The biggest matchup of the month was the last matchup against Cherno more who was in first place. With the win it moves them in to a tie for second and now just one place behind Cherno more.

This is where coach Ryan was vocal this month. LA Galaxy has been interested in the young rising centerback for CSKA. While Ryan publicly said that he wasn't for sale it would come apparently that the Chairman, Ivo Ivanov, though the deal of 2.5 million was too good to turn down. Actually so much that he didn't even consult with the coach and when the sale went through and the press got a hold of it was the first time Ryan heard about it.
