Sure they might not be the best overall, but they showed in pre-season that they can be amble reserves or replacements. Petrov though is being moved down to under-19 squad while Stoykov is moved up to the senior squad. After a great pre-season some people think he can be the super sub like Saidhodzha last year.

Man, I have a CSKA Sofia game at the moment. They're a really good team to play as.

Yes I am liking them. Just need to get my rep up so I can start bringing in some top notch players.

i'll follow because im bulgarian but still CSKA (Sofia) is a very good team to play as.. You should check their real history.. as they have beaten most of the ECC winners back in time :)

Acutally I don't know a lot about Bulgarian leagues. I do know that CSKA used to be really good though, and I do have a friend who was born and lived in Bulgaria for most of his life. He now is in college in the US. I told him if he has time to tell me about the leagues, but am learning about it.

For this game there would be two new strikers starting. One would be in his second game, newly transfer Cheikh Gueye (2nd game), had his first two goals of the year. The youngest player to ever play for CSKA, Grisha Stoykov, got the start and didn’t disappoint as it took him 69 minutes to score his first goal.

ECC Qualifying Round 3

View attachment 71761View attachment 71756

Leg one saw coach Ryan not field is normal lineup. Due to injuries and some players without match fitness coach ran with a different lineup. Plus he would also not sub anyone in to try to give some of his players a rest to get ready for the season to start. With an own goal and then Platini scoring in the first half would be all that was needed for the game.

Wow that regen striker seems pretty good apart from his pace though. And you've got plenty of budget to spend on players! Keep up the good work mate! (H)

You should try and get Cristaldo. He tears the league up.

Yeah I tried. He is worth 5 million, I could get him which isn’t that bad, but the wages are too much for him to come to my team so I couldn’t get him. He did look good.

Very interesting link so thank you. I am glad I have some other followers. I know they were successful but not that successful. I hope I just do them and Bulgarian league justice.

I know I ever usually get anyone good when I have top facilities, but then I get him. I like him, and he looks to be a great sub for the next two years, and might be a starter in 3.

League Games

View attachment 71909

Again with injuries in pre-season, ECC qualifiers, Super Cup, and trying to fit in the new signings it was another slow start to the season. Well not that slow since they still didn't lose a game, but are currently in 3rd cause of a 2-2-0 record. Platini and Obaje were coming off injuries and still scored some goals, but as soon as they can get Ribeiro back they should be back on top of the standings.

View attachment 71916View attachment 71904

The first league game of the year and the first time under coach Ryan they got out shot. Still it didn’t matter as the Reds would post a dominate win. Iliev (1st) and Platini (2nd) would score goals this game. With an injury to Gueye and Obaje getting back in the swing of things came off the bench for him. It would take less than a minute for Obaje to score his first goal of the year.

View attachment 71914

Surprise, surprise, surprise! Obaje (2nd) and Platini (3rd) both scored goals to make it back-to-back games to open up league play. Is there a better tandem that these two? Midfielder Aleksandar Tonev got his first goal over for CSKA which started the scoring in the ninth minute.

View attachment 71910

For a game that the Red’s dominated they had nothing to show for it. It was similar to a game last year, but at least they didn’t lose it. “Still for us taking fifteen shots we need to do a little more better on target. Just one shot on target isn’t good enough. While it is upsetting we didn’t take three points at least we came out with one.

View attachment 71918

We needed a point in this game. Its that simple. A win would have been great, a tie is good, but a loss would have been devastating. With Ribeiro out a loss would of probably put us on a slippery slope, and I don’t think the team would recover to win the league.” Which was a surprising statement by coach Ryan so early in the year. Down at half 1-nil it would be Chrapek as he would tie it up in the 89th minute for his second goal of the year. Looks as if Chrapek is finally settling in to CSKA. Maybe he isn’t a bust now?

Super Cup

For this game there would be two new strikers starting. One would be in his second game, newly transfer Cheikh Gueye (2nd game), had his first two goals of the year. The youngest player to ever play for CSKA, Grisha Stoykov, got the start and didn’t disappoint as it took him 69 minutes to score his first goal.

ECC Qualifying Round 3 and Playoff’s

View attachment 71913

The new drawings for the ECC this year looks a lot easier than last years. Benfica they played two years ago in a friendly and the game ended in a 2-2 tie. Although some changes to both teams that has to be a good sign for CSKA. Also Panathinaikos looks to be even keel with CSKA. The only game they are heavy underdogs as well as at home is against FC Bayern.

View attachment 71915

Round 3: Leg 2 would come. It wouldn’t be the best game. No goals for Armeytsite, but their defense would do enough to hold them to just one goal which give them the aggregate to advance them into the next knockout stage. “Right now we are just dealing with injuries and are trying to figure out where the new players are going to fit in. Again in the end I think it will all come together. I am not worried about it at all.

View attachment 71911

Playoffs: Leg 1 would pit CSKA at home. After being out shot the past two games they would come out firing on all cylinders. Platini (4th) scored in his third straight game. Tonev (2nd) who got his first ever goal for Armeytsite last game was so happy he wanted it not to send and scored in this game as well. Late sub Dimitar Iliev (2nd) would finish off the scoring in the 90th minute.

View attachment 71917View attachment 71906

Playoffs: Leg 2 Coach Ryan would do something that wasn’t normal. He would give his strikers a rest. Yes not just one, but all three starter and would let three backup start. In the second leg of a playoff it looked to be a dangerous move. Sure they were up 3-0 and the backups wouldn’t disappoint. Tonev (3rd) would get things started off for Armytsite. Krzysztof Chrapek put the match out of reach with his goal in the 34th minute. Youth phenom Grisha Stoykov (2nd, 3rd) would score two goals before half. Stoykov wouldn’t be able to score any in the second half as he picked up a straight red card. Most damaging news is the injury to goal keeper Ribeiro.

The Red's make it back to the ECC for the second straight year. Again for another successful run in the playoffs they got a lot of money for winning it to help the team rise in stature of finances.Hopefully this will not only help the club, but help them in the next few years to get to bring in bigger and better talent to complete in the ECC.

Season Tickets

View attachment 71903

Sure they got an increase. I guess some is better than none. Need to make more noise in the ECC, but need money for wages and prestigue to get players in. See a cycle here?

TRANSFERS

View attachment 71905

One player out on loan while the team looks as they sign two more. While coach Ryan didn't say he wouldn't sign anymore (still have over 13 million to spend) he also said that their wouldn't be any sales either. The team does have some surplus of players, but the coach said only one player isn't in his plans. He didn't give a name, but with the teams finances in good shape it does leave Adam Ryan the option of keeping them in case of injuries or until a good offer comes in. Also lets take a look at how the transfer market looked like for CSKA last year.

View attachment 71935

LOANS

Deal sends him to them for the entire year which looks as if coach Ryan see's him as excess and looks to try to get rid of him if he doesn't show a good form for a different team.

League Games

View attachment 71957

Only the second time under coach Ryan has this team lost 2 league games in one month. Is the magic wearing off on coach Ryan. They also see themselves at the lowest they ever been with coach Ryan in the standings.

View attachment 71964View attachment 71951

With a 2-0 win which should have been a celebrating mood for the squad everyone was a little down as they lost one of their top goal scorers, Platini, is now going to miss 6-7 weeks. While it’s a scare they still have Obaje on the team. Will he run away as the top goal scorer now? He wouldn’t disappoint this game as he had two goals from assists from Platini and Chrapek (could he fill in for Platini?).

View attachment 71961

Coach Ryan after the ECC win of Benfica has stated that his team has the ability to get out of group stages so he has gone back to his two squad rotation. He would start it with this game and again it turned out to do well, but still only came up with one point again. Again all three strikers scored in this game (Chrapek, Obaje, and Gueye), but in the end they gave up two late goals to only come out with a tie.

View attachment 71958View attachment 71952View attachment 71953

In the worst league lost under coach Ryan it looks as if he has a mountain to climb. Rebeiro was injured in a training exercise as he just returned so he will be out for another two weeks right before this game. Nothing went right and when you hold the opposing team to justfive shots and they score FOUR time its not the best thing. Coach Ryan wasn’t available for the first time in his career to give a interview or a statement. Another striker went down for this team and will miss a couple of weeks as well.

ECC

View attachment 71962

View attachment 71960

With the normal lineup, Rebeiro and Platini out, CSKA would have been the favorites at home. Without them they are slight underdogs. Add in the fact that Benfica goalie Moreira hasn’t given up a goal in the past four games and it looked like a rough climb. It would be at first when Dejagah would put Benfica on the board. Next thing you know Obaje would score seven minutes later to tie up the game. Gueye, who was benched last game for not impressing the coaches, got the start and would come up huge as he scored the game winner in the 42nd minute. With only six shots (4 on target) they got the most they needed for the win. Last year it took five games in the ECC for them to get the win this year just took the first game.

View attachment 71963

Coach Ryan after a horrible league loss (4-1 to Cherno) they came into this game and now face off FC Bayern who are huge favorites. They wouldn’t disappoint and CSKA is now falling hard as they have given up 11 goals in the last 2 games and only scored 2 goals. “Its not a sinking ship just yet. We finally have hit adversity for the first time in my coaching career. So its going to be big to see how the team and I handle it.” said coach Ryan after this humble 7-1 loss.

Finances

View attachment 71956

This is hopefully a start for the next couple of months for making money. Coach Ryan said it would be great to finish off the year with $50 million in balance. With the way the team has been playing and injures hitting this team hard that might be a very optimistic outlook.

League and ECC Standings

View attachment 72007View attachment 72008

Climbed from 6th place to 4th place in a month and now are just fice points out of first. Back in the swing of things although Platini and Obaje haven't played together in over 2 months. More impressing is that we are in first place in the ECC which is a shock, but still good to see we are completing with the injuries we had.

Games Recaps

View attachment 72010View attachment 72006

This game was a must win league game. CSKA is finally playing a team that is above them and with a win can start making their way back to the top. Healthy players though is more concerned than standings right now as they are still missing three key starters. Again it wouldn’t be a great game and while they would hold for a tie three straight goals by Loko would put this game out of reach. Late subs Kanta (1st) and Saidhodzha (2nd) would be the only two scorers for the team as they would lose their third straight game.

View attachment 72014

Again another winless game. Sure it was a tie, but at least the team is making strides. First down 1-0 and then going down to ten men with just twelve minutes in the game. “The team had a bunch of adversity today and they showed that they are turning the corner. We tied the game up so at least we got a point. At least we still fought all the way to the end. If we can come back with just ten men I think we can comeback in any games.”

View attachment 72011

The ECC third group game was among us. While the Reds were very slim favorites the way they been playing and with missing two strikers looked like they had the impossible hill to climb. In the first half they would be under heavy fire as they had ten shots against them. They would only cross midfield three times and only have one shot themselves in the first half. Luckily they went into half with a 0-0 tie due to the fact that Ribeiro is back at goalie for them. Second half the Reds would manage to just get four more shots. One of them would sneak in which would be the winner in this match. Obaje (8th) would be the only scorer in this one and looks as if they might of gotten some swagger back with this win.

View attachment 72012View attachment 72003

Gueye would be on a five game scoreless streak. Early in the week coach Ryan went out to the media and criticized him for his lack of play. Twice now that has happened. The first time he was benched and came back next game with a goal, and this game after the words he came out and scored twice (5th, 6th) and then newly acquired midfielder Josh Payne scored his first ever league goal for CSKA. Stoyanob (100th) and Bedia (25th) appearances for the league. Finally after five games CSKA gets another win in the league.

View attachment 72009

Rookie super sub, Grista Stoykov, would come in the game in the 78th minute and would scored in the 90th minute to clinch the game. Pandemonium was in the stands as the hometown player is now moved up to hometown hero. Obaje made his 50th league appearance with today’s game. Also the team is glad to have Riberio is back since he now has not given up a goal in 271 minutes.

View attachment 72013View attachment 72004

Game against the #1 team in “A” league looked like a double-edge sword. Would the team everyone knows and loves show up. The team that has won the league the last two years, or would it be the team who has been faltering the last couple of weeks. Carlos Lazaro (1st) would start the game off with a bang in the second minute from a free kick right outside the box. Eight minutes later defender Aleksandar Tonev (2nd) would push the lead off of a quick counter. Just like in the fist half the second half would start off with a quick score for the Reds. Rumen Trifonov (1st) would get his first career goal for CSKA. After Litex would get on the board for a fighting chance Kanta would push the lead to three just two minutes later. Swagger and form are back in full swing for CSKA and hopefully they can keep it up to climb up the latter in the league. Obaje made his 50th career experience.

League and ECC Standings

View attachment 72199View attachment 72202

For the second striaght year they get out of the group stages of the ECC. They are climbing back up in the standings. While they are still in third place they are just four points out of first place with half a season to go. They are the hottest team right now in the league and looks as if they are prime if they can keep this streak and form in tact to win the league again.

Games Recaps

View attachment 72204

ECC Leg 2: Not an very exciting game to watch. Coach Ryan would change his attacking 4-1-2-3 to a defensive 4-1-2-3 in this game. It would work again as Saidhozdzha (3rd) put in a header in the 85th minute to put in the equalizer. CSKA got a team high 9 times offsides this game. Still the coach didn’t matter since the outcome was good for still getting one point.

View attachment 72200

In a game that could move CSKA into third place they would fall in a hole early. Down 2-nil with just the 45th minute coming the Reds would cut into it with Saidhodzha (4th) goal. The next one would come in the first minute of the second half as Gueye would tie it up. When things started to look up it would be dashed with Beroe would add another goal. CSKA would get luckily with their late equalizer in stoppage time due to a PK kick. Chrapek (150th) and Vidanov (50th) made career league appearance.

View attachment 72205

Bulgarian League Cup Second Round: The CSKA defense would do all it could to give up this game (a PK kick and an own goal), but Gueye (9th, 10th, 11th) wouldn’t let them fail this game as he had a hat trick in the first half. Omozusi (1st) would try to redeem the defense in this one has he would score in the 80th minute for his first career goal for his new team.

View attachment 72203

There would be five yellow cards before the twenty-fifth minute in this game. Three of those on CSKA side. Still they would keep pounding it into the final third until Obaje (9th) would break the scoreless game. With that goal it would break his 462 minute scoreless streak. Gueye (12th) looks to be a great addition this year as he leads the team in scoring and also got scored in his third straight game. Platini didn’t score, but did make his 50th league appearance.

View attachment 72198

ECC Leg 2: This will go down as one of the biggest wins for coach Ryan. Were heavy underdogs in this game and hometown hero Gisha Stoykov (6th) kicked things off with a bang in the second minute. While that was a great start it looked as if it would be a long second half when best defender Elliot Omozusi got sent off in stoppage time with two yellows. Benefica got a lot of chances, but the next goal would come by Obaje (10th) as he would give his team a 2-0 lead with a man down. Ten minutes later it looked a little scary when Benfica cut the lead to one, but couldn’t find the net again as CSKA has sealed up at least second place in the group stages and will be moving on.

View attachment 72201

The games keep getting bigger and better for CSKA. Again to end the month they will take on the first place team. This time it is Levski and they wouldn’t disappoint their fans. No reds cards this game, but still they tally up three yellows. Top two goal scorers again got them in a great position to win the game. First was Obaje (11th) in the first half while Gueye (12th) would regain the title for his team late in the second half. Ribeiro had a fine game and with all his defenders staying in the game posted the shutout.

For the second straight year of getting out of the group stages they have to face Barcelona. “Well it was another good run that looks to be over before it ever got started. Bulgarian Cup Third Round: Defender Omozusi (2nd) would score off of a corner. Platini (5th) starting to get back to healthy and scored with a barn burner just inside the box. So fast that the goalie couldn’t even react to it. Also with that goal ends a 524 minute scoreless streak. Kanta (3rd) would finish off the scoring for CSKA late in the second half.

ECC Leg 2: “We did a fantastic job. I don’t care that we lost on the scoreboard. We did win in other area’s though. We had both starting center backs out (red cards), two starting forwards (resting) and we only lost to one at home. Sure we were underdogs, but at least we scored twice and we competed all the way through the game.” Platini (6th) was the only starting forward and he wouldn’t disappoint with a goal early in the game. Backup defender Popov, who use to start the previous two years, scored his first goal of the year to tie up the game before half.

Coach Ryan finally got the board on his side as they increased the transfer budget this year. He would waste no time and would make one signing. It would be another striker, surprised! With the signing it might be that some other strikers might be gone as well, and rumor has it that coach Ryan is now looking for another defender.

Falling a little behind this month with just a 1-2-0 record. At least we didn't have a lost, but two games where we gave up the lead to tie wasn't the best either. Hopefully the loss away at Barcelona won't be too damaging for this team as they head into the last couple months of play.

Games Recaps

View attachment 72243

With the first league game in two months and their first game in over a month they came out a little slow. Platini (7th) would start it off within the first minute of the second half. The biggest surprise would be the new signing striker of Alipio. He didn’t get the start to mess up the chemistry, but it looks as if that might change soon. He would come on in the 65th minute and within thirty seconds he would score his first goal for the club.

View attachment 72242

We were absolutely horrid out there today. I don’t care that we tied the game, we should have been a little crisper out there. It looked as if it was just a pick up game you see on the side of the road. There will be some changes I promise you that. If they feel like they can cruise through the league I will allow it when we are in first and up by like 15 points. We aren’t even in first yet. If players don’t want to be here then so be it then. I will let them go play somewhere else.” Young striker Stoykov (7th) scored in the first half to give them the lead, but a late equalizer ended the game in a tie.

View attachment 72241View attachment 72245

ECC Knockout Leg 1: Again facing off against Barcelona in this stage for the second straight year. After a horrid league game they actually came out on fire. They don’t have that much firepower yet to score a goal (we did get over 10 shots against a top club so that’s good). After the game the coach had this to say. “A lot better. If we lose 3-0 to Barelona we should be able to dominate teams that we are heavy favorites. I am glad we had a good rebound game. I just want to see consistency with this team.

View attachment 72239

With the ECC still in play the team is usually playing on wind afterwards and usually struggle to play well. They continue that stretch today, but still came away with a point. Gueye (14th, 15th) would start the game off with a bang. He would also be the savior as he would tie up the game in stoppage time. Ribeiro made his 50th career appearance for the team.

View attachment 72244View attachment 72246View attachment 72247View attachment 72248

Again another league game, another goal early on, and then giving up the lead. They would have to chase to try to score another goal to come away with another point. The first goal was by defender Stoyanov (1st). Two quick goals by Szalai would give Salvia the lead, but it wouldn’t be until late sub Iliev (3rd) to tie up the game.

Coach Adam Ryan wasn't upset about the knockout loss in the ECC. He is happy that the team is finally clicking. Hopefully the team can finish strong cause they normally have falter in the end of the season. Still have hopes to repeat as winners in the Bulgarian Cup as well that starts up next month. One worrisome is that they gave up 8 goals this month in league play in five games. However, two of those they posted shut outs. Still they scored 15 goals this month in league so it looks as if the attack is finally figured out their chemistry with the new people.

Games Recaps

View attachment 72265

Adam Ryan would just shake his head after the game. Like the rest of the year they again score, give up the lead, and then tie late to just come away with a point. “Maybe we are destine not to win the league this year. Only so much you can do. Plus we are hitting the post a lot and missing good opportunities.” Gueye (16th) keeps his goal scoring streak going, and with that got his 25th career goal. Also new comer Alipio (2nd) got in on the scoring as well.

View attachment 72263View attachment 72278View attachment 72279

ECC Knockout Leg 2: “Sure we lost. We only had five shots on goal. Add in two injuries. You know what we lost 1-0 to probably the best team in the world. Coach Ryan wasn’t mad at his players, but the ref’s who gave up a PK in stoppage time and disallowed a goal for them. Still with the loss it puts more pressure on coach Ryan and fans are grumbling already that he should be let go as coach. Defedner Trifonov (2nd) would tie up the game before ten minutes was up. Gueye (17th) would keep up his scoring this year and looks to be a staple for many years to come for CSKA.

Coach Ryan a little worried of giving up three goals, even if one was off of a PK, but he was happy that his lads finally got a win. Gueye (18th, 19th) would get things off to a great start for the Reds. Next would be Platini (8th) who was relieved to finally break his scoreless streak of 478 minutes. Last was Alipio (3rd, 4th) and looks to make the transition to a new team pretty well so far in just six games.

This game has significant since it was against the third place team. If you want to start climbing this would be it. They won last game 4-0 (their GK went 635 minutes without conceding a goal too) and it looked that CSKA who finally one in eight games last game had a challenge. Apparently the players finally got the hint they might not win league and they came out and proved that they are still the team to beat. They won by three and Platini (9th) and Alipio (5th) kept their scoring up. Bedia would get his first goal all year in his 19th appearance.

Platini (10th) hits double digit goals on the year half way through the first half. Next would be Alipio (6th, 7th) who is now looking like a starter for CSKA on a daily basis, put the game out of reach with his goals in the second half. Second straight game where Ribeiro went without giving up a goal.

Sure we tied. We went down a man in the 16th minute and even gave up a PK. I don’t care if we had the lead at a certain point in the second half playing with ten men is still hard. It was a great match and our team has a bunch of confidence now.” said coach Ryan after the game. Platini (11th) scored off of a beautiful header. Most people thought the "Player of the Month" would go to the top goal scorer on the team who even had a hat trick in one of the games. However that woudln't be the case as it was another striker Alipio who did break the double digit goal mark for his team in just 15 games (2 subs)
