World Cup Qualifying

So we had just the 1 game this month which we would be aiming to win to increase our bid to make it to the 2018 World Cup!

Spain vs Slovakia

View attachment 393232

We had a slow start to the game with Slovakia actually putting a bit or pressure on us and then equalising, but after that the players rallied and really showed their quality as we put 2 more past them before half time and then another 2 past them in the 2nd half which was all us!

-----
-------------------------

Group

View attachment 393231

Even with 3 games I really cannot see us messing this up as we just possess too much quality for any of the other teams in our group and we should easily qualify for the world cup with us top of the group and I am definitely sure we can do it by winning all our games!

March

View attachment 393216

Very good month in the cups and a shock defeat in the league!

-----

View attachment 393215

View attachment 393214

MOTM: Ross Barkley (Newcastle United)

We could actually finish well this game! Well... Barkley could as he got himself a first half hat trick and then finished the game off with his 4th in the 80th minute! Incredible win to put us through to the Quarter Finals!

------------------------------

View attachment 393212

View attachment 393211

MOTM: Nick Powell (Manchester United)

Very even game where the scoreline probably represents the game quite well as we both had chances but neither of us could take them and both goalies were on good form!

------------------------------

View attachment 393207

View attachment 393205

MOTM: Ravel Morrison (Newcastle United)

Was quite a tight game this as there were only 16 shots all game and luckily the majority of them were ours (10) and we made them count to get the win!

------------------------------

View attachment 393201

View attachment 393200

MOTM: Donis Avdijaj (Newcastle United)

Decided to give Avdijaj his debut and what a game he had! Swansea defense couldn't handle him in a game we easily dominated, even with a much weaker back up side being fielded!

------------------------------

View attachment 393198

View attachment 393197

MOTM: Ross Barkley (Newcastle United)

The last game was quite even... this one we absolutely tore Man Utd apart so I am quite disappointed we conceded 2! Especially when they only had 3 shots all game! We were all over Man Utd and the good performance has win means we shall now play Southampton in the Semi Final!

------------------------------

View attachment 393196

View attachment 393195

MOTM: Steven Fletcher (Crystal Palace)

I just don't know what happened to us this game! We played absolutely shockingly as Palace somehow dominated us and restricted us to just 5 shots all game! A red card and 2 injuries just made the game even worse.

Luckily Marquinhos is only out for a week but Santons season is over...

View attachment 393193

Out for 2 - 3 Months and will not get to feature for us again this season.

------------------------------

League

View attachment 393192

So we are now 11 points clear of Chelsea and Utd but Man Utd do have a game in hand, but even if they win we will be 8 points clear with 7 games left so really cannot see us not winning the title now!

Champions League

View attachment 393191

So we have been drawn with Italian league winners and giants Juventus in what I am sure is going to be a very hard tie! Also all the other games are very hard to call on who will win as they are very good teams... no idea who will be going through!

------------------------------

Best Player of March

View attachment 393190

Lucas Romero

Even with regular rotating Romero still managed to feature in 4 games this month and he did very well as he scored 1 goal, set up 1 and also got 3 rating above 8! Very nice!

View attachment 392954
April

View attachment 392953

So... during a month where our team was ravaged by injuries it did not quite go to plan...

-----
-----------------------------------

View attachment 392952

View attachment 392951

MOTM: Olivier Giroud (Arsenal)

I just don't know what happened... we were appalling in this game and Arsenal rightly punished us for it, and that injury to Barkley put him out for 2 weeks. Also no Volland for 3 games will see if we can handle not having him.

----------------------------------------

View attachment 392947

View attachment 392946

MOTM: Lucas Romero (Newcastle United)

More injuries! We had that many injuries before this game we were only able to have 5 subs! Juventus were the slightly better side so it is probably the correct result, but glad we got the important away goal!

----------------------------------------

View attachment 392943

View attachment 392941

MOTM: Kostas Mitroglou (Southampton)

We were actually the better side this game, even with me having to field a much weaker side featuring 3 18 year olds! We just did not have what it takes to make our chances count this game and this means the FA Cup will elude us again for yet another season!

----------------------------------------

View attachment 392940

View attachment 392938

MOTM: Jonathan Tah (Newcastle United)

We managed to have 6 subs this game! At home we stood strong and controlled the game, kept the ball (58% possession) and made it hard for Juventus to make any chances! Thanks to the away goal we are in to the Semis!

----------------------------------------

View attachment 392935

View attachment 392934

MOTM: Ross Barkley (Newcastle United)

Was finally able to put a pretty decent side out again as most of the injured players return and it showed the quality was back as we tore Fulham apart and from the off they had no chance!

----------------------------------------

View attachment 392933

View attachment 392932

MOTM: Kevin Volland (Newcastle United)

Well... I certainly wasn't expecting this! Clearly everyone who was back from injury were really up for this as we battered Madrid and completely outplayed them... away at Madrid, and saying they are currently unbeaten in the league this was an incredible win! Surely in the Final!

----------------------------------------

View attachment 392931

View attachment 392930

MOTM: Nicusor Stanciu (Man Utd)

Was good to see Avdijaj could step up well to replace Volland in such a big game as it was very end to end with lots of action (28 shots) and either of us could have won it with just a bit better finishing!

----------------------------------------

View attachment 392929

View attachment 392928

MOTM: Luke Shaw (Newcastle United)

Madrid came out all guns blazing in this leg and I am quite surprised we managed to hold them to a draw, as they absolutely hammered us and came at us full force, but our defence held strong and we are now through to the final!

----------------------------------------

View attachment 392927

View attachment 392926

MOTM: Andre Schurrle (Everton)

I just don't know how we didn't win this... I mean... look!

View attachment 392924

2 shots 2 goals and they win the game! Look at the amount of shots we had!!!!! We really should have won this comfortably as well... god ****!

----------------------------------------

League

View attachment 392921

Even with our poor month we still sit 6 points clear of Chelsea, and will still be 5 clear of Man Utd if they win their game in hand... think the league is definitely ours as long as we don't somehow lose all our remaining games!

Champions League

So we made it through to the final where we will play...

View attachment 392920

Manchester United! All English Final! We have done pretty well when we have played them this season so I think we can win this!!

----------------------------------------

Best Player of April

View attachment 392919

Luke Shaw

With all the injuries Shaw still got to be a mainstay in the team and had some very good games against the likes of Fulham and Madrid so I think he deserves it!

----------------------------------------

World Rankings

So the World Rankings for the National Teams has been released...

View attachment 392918

So with my 7 wins out of 7 with Spain we have moved up to 1st, taking over England who drop down to 2nd! Incredible to see Colombia in 4th!

View attachment 392415
May

View attachment 392414

So in my opinion, if Man Utd win their game in hand we have to win at least 2 of these to ensure we win the league....

-----
-----------------------------------

View attachment 392411

View attachment 392409

MOTM: Kevin Volland (Newcastle United)

I felt so bad doing this! We absolutely tore Leicester apart and to be honest this is probably the right score... Nice 4 goal haul from Volland though!

----------------------------------------

View attachment 392407

View attachment 392406

MOTM: Jack Grealish (Aston Villa)

Decided to put out a weaker side this game with a lot of youth players, and it kinda back fired, even though we were the better side, we just couldn't win. But!!!

This happened in Man Utds game in hand...

View attachment 392404

They had to win to ensure we couldn't win the title yet... but they drew! Hernandez with the last minute equaliser against his former team to allow us to win the league!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2 seasons in a row!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

----------------------------------------

View attachment 392402

View attachment 392401

MOTM: Alen Halilovic (Newcastle United)

So with nothing to play for for either of us as we had won the league and they were clear of the relegation zone, it was quite a tame game, even for a rival game, but we should have still won as we were the better side, but still!

----------------------------------------

League

View attachment 392399

So we end up winning the league by 4 points in the end, which is very well done by us to win the title for the 2nd season in a row!

Of course we will have a more in depth look at it in the review.

Champions League Final

Newcastle United vs. Manchester United

So here we are... about to face our biggest rivals this season in the Champions League Final at the San Siro in Milan... to earn the right to be called the best team in Europe.

Lets see what happened shall we!

View attachment 392394

MOTM: Kevin Volland (Newcastle United)

What a game!

4 penalties, 1 own goal, 8 yellow cards, lots of shots and fouls... just what you want in a Champions League Final!

And we won!

We have won the Champions League for the 2nd time under me reign, to go alongside the League and the Community Shield this season!

We are the Champions of Europe!

----------------------------------------

So of course that is the season over!

And what an incredible season it is!

Up next will of course be the reviews of the club, England, and the rest of Europe!

End of Season Review - Newcastle United

Fixture List!

View attachment 392373

Obviously we had an excellent season as we win the league and 2 cups! We went on some great runs, but we did also have some poor runs such as the 4 loss streak over March/April. But its good to see that we were able to still win the league and champions cup, even with these losses!

Best Win: Newcastle 6 - 1 Liverpool

Worst Loss: Newcastle 0 - 5 Arsenal

----------------------------------------
Squad

View attachment 392372

So many players had incredible seasons for us!

Amazing to see so many people score a large amount of goals for us! Volland with 35, Morrison with 18, Barkley with 19, Romero with 14, is just incredible that we don't just rely on 1 person for goals!

Big reason we won a lot of games is because all of our defenders were excellent this season, especially Mayke with 7.33 and Shaw with 7.26!

Our squad is just incredible now with so many people who can perform well for us, and I can't see where we need to improve to be honest!

----------------------------------------

Club News

So with Vollands 35 goals this season he got this...

View attachment 392371

He is now Newcastle's record holder for goals scored in a season with 35 goals! And at just 24 I think that is just amazing!

End of Season Review - Premier League

Time to see what else cracked off in the Premier League this season!

Premier League

View attachment 392370

So we have won back to back leagues! Go us! But it was not easy as at times I thought Man Utd would catch up to us! Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal and the 3 other teams who will be joining us in the Champions League next!

Southampton, Aston Villa and Stoke City got Europa League football!

Fulham and Crystal Palace were relegated alongside what I think is a huge shock... Everton! Thought they were easily a top half team but this season they really were poor!

Big shock this season being Man City who finish in 9th... shocking considering the squad they have, and no surprise their manager was sacked and Roberto Mancini has returned!

Premier League Team Stats

View attachment 392369

So we were the top goalscorers in the league with 92, with Chelsea just behind us on 88, but other than that we clearly were the 2 teams scoring for fun!

Man Utd conceded the least amount of goals with 24, while we were joint 3rd with 36!

We ran away with the amount of goals for Indirect Freekicks at 9 with the 2nd team at 4 which is amazing to do!

We also had the joint top amount of red cards.... woopsie!

Premier League Player Stats

View attachment 392368

So Romero was the best performing player this season by a longshot with an average of 7.59! Volland came 2nd in the goalscorers with 21, but was 4 behind Giroud who scored the most with 25... think Volland can get in next season!

Other than that we don't really feature on these stats but I at least thought we would have a large amount of clean sheets but clearly not... oh well!

End of Season Review - Rest of England

Lets see how the rest of England got on!

Championship

View attachment 392362
So we shall be rejoined by Norwich who were relegated a couple of seasons ago, along with Leeds United, and also Nottingham Forest who will come up through the play-offs!

Yeovil, Brentford, and surprisingly QPR are the 3 teams heading down to League 1!

League 1

View attachment 392361

Yet again the 3 teams relegated down to League 1 last season have poor seasons, and it will Blackpool and, MK Dons and Sheff Wednesday going up into the Championship.

Where as at the bottom, Ipswich suffer back to back relegations and will be joined by Coventry, Crawley and Southend in League 2!

League 2

View attachment 392360

Oxford go up to League 2, as well as Walsall who make a return after being relegated last season, and also Hartlepool and Cheltenham!

Unfortunately for Exeter and Carlisle they will be heading out of the football league and will be in the Skrill Premier next season!

Cups

Capital One Cup

View attachment 392359

Surprised me that Stoke won the Cup with them beating Spurs, Wolves, Arsenal and Man Utd to lift the cup which is and incredible feat in my opinion!

Of course we didn't even make it out of the 3rd round after losing to Arsenal.

FA Cup

View attachment 392358

Chelsea win the FA Cup after having what looks like quite an easy run as they beat Forest, Wigan, Swansea and eventually Southampton in the Final.

This cup eluded us for yet another season as we went out in the Semi Final to Southampton.

Community Shield

View attachment 392357

We win the Community Shield after beating last seasons winner Manchester United 2-1!

End of Season Review - Europe

Now for the other big competitions in Europe!

Leagues

France - Ligue 1

View attachment 392356

Yet again Monaco run away with the title for the 2nd season in a row, winning the league by 13 points, but PSG managed to get 2nd this time with 8 more points than last season so clearly they improved.

Germany - First Division

View attachment 392355

Bayern retain the title, only just as they win it by 3 points, and quite surprising to see Dortmund finishing down in 4th so clearly they had a poor season!

Incredible improvement from Wolfsburg though as they get 3rd this season after finishing down in 11th last season!

Italy - Serie A

View attachment 392354

So Fiorentina finally win the League and take it away from Juventus who drop down to 3rd and were unable to win it for the 6th season in a row! Looks like it was a very tight, and exciting season this year with just 5 points between 1st and 5th!

Spain - LIGA BBVA

View attachment 392352

Madrid has an incredible season as they go unbeaten and retain the title after winning by 8 points! What a season they have clearly had!

Although what is surprising is that they lost 2 games last season and still finished with 92 points, 2 more than an unbeaten season... that's football!

Cups

Champions League

View attachment 392350

Of course we won the Champions League this season after a very exciting all English Final with Man Utd!

We did amazingly to win this in my opinion, especially as we played Juventus and Madrid off the back of our losing streak!

Euro Cup

View attachment 392348

Bayern do the double this season with also winning the league, as they beat fellow Germans Dortmund 2-1 in the final, after destroying Schalke, Spurs and A.C. Milan on the way there, putting 5 past each!

Super Cup

View attachment 392345

Barcelona were the winners of the Super Cup after beating Juventus 3-2 after extra time, got to be hard on Juventus especially as Barcelona equalised in the 88th minute to take it to extra time!

View attachment 392343
Update

So that is this season done with!

Incredible season as we retain the title and also win the Champions League, we are now clearly one of the best teams in the World now!

Next season we are aiming for more!

- Retain the league

- Retain the Champions League

- Win either the FA Cup or Capital One Cup

- Win Super Cup

- Win Community Shield

With a couple of tweaks to the team I definitely cannot see why we can't do this!

------------------------------

Next Update

So unless anything new comes up, the next update will be the start of pre-season where we shall look at the friendlies, the squad, and also any possible transfers we want to make!

View attachment 392326
Start of Pre-Season

Friendlies!

View attachment 392325

Easy, easy, easy, easy, easy!

Definite wins in all of these, no problems, couple of high scoring games for us I am sure!

-----
-----------------------------------

Squad

So here is the squad we are heading into next season with.

View attachment 392324

Incredibly strong, lots of depth... love this squad!

GK: No worries here, perfectly happy with these 2.

RB: Could be a bit of an issue as Peruzzi hasn't developed much, maybe a youth player to be brought in.

LB: Nope, no worries here, although if a good offer comes in for Santon, could see him going.

CB: Not going to have to worry about this position for a fair few years now! Absolutely incredible.

CM: Very happy with this position, although Sissoko may leave, so maybe another youngster will come in.

AMR: Happy with this, but there is interest in HBA so if it is a good offer he may leave, and a player will come in to challenge Halilovic.

AML: Very happy, definitely no player needed here!

AMC: Very happy again! Maybe another youth player to be brought in.

ST: Could probably do with a better back up for Jese, possibility of Avdijaj or Zivkovic going out on loan.

View attachment 392025
End of Pre-Season

Went very well!

View attachment 392024

So all the results were as expected, quite shocked we only beat Junior 2-1 but a lot of squad rotating was done, which is why I am also quite happy with the Napoli result as a fair few youngsters played in that game!

----------
------------------------------

Next Update

So up next will be the transfer dealing over the summer!

Not as many coming in but still a fair amount spent with 72.5 Million spent on just 2 players!

Also a player in and a player out has been sorted for the future!

View attachment 392023
Summer Transfer Window

So in the end I decided that there were a few positions that needed strengthening and improving, and they were!

All the targets I wanted I got as well!

Current Transfers

View attachment 392022

93.5 Million on 5 players but 47.25 has been made from player sales (current and future)!

Amazed I got 20 million for Vydra, 20 million profit as he was brought in on a free!

Also sad to see Sissoko leave but with the quality being brought in and who we already have he was starting to struggle for game time.

Peruzzi left as he stopped developing and also became a bit mardy when I declared interest in De Sciglio so away he went! Loss of 500k but oh well.

-----

So up first coming in was a deal that had already been tied up last summer:

View attachment 392021

Tayfun Acar

Absolute bargain at 6 Million in my opinion, and at just 18 I can definitely see him already pushing for a place in the first team! One of the best regens I have bought so far I think!

-----

Next coming in was a transfer costing a whopping 27.5 Million... could be risky but I think it will pay off!

View attachment 392017

Brady Boot

At just 17 this could be a huge gamble for such a huge fee, but I am definitely sure he will grow to become an amazing play and with some development can definitely see him becoming an amazing player for club and country!

-----

Next is a player who can play up most of the left side, and will definitely be training him to be a left back!

View attachment 392016

Juan Carlos Velasco

Incredible player at 20 and good bargain at 15 million! Will be training him to play left back which I think he will definitely be able to play well in, and shouldn't take too long to get the hold of!

Good future competition for Shaw and also Gauld and Sterling!

-----

Next was a player brought in that was seen as more of a sign and sell purely for money but now will most likely be my main back up!

View attachment 392013

View attachment 392014

Nicola Leali

Amazed that he was let go on a free and has the potential to become a great goalie!

-----

Finally on deadline day we brought in the biggest transfer deal of the summer for a new first choice player!

View attachment 392011

View attachment 392009

Mattia De Sciglio

Took me aaaaages to get this guy but so happy I did in the end! Incredible player and excellent to bring in, will probably take first choice off Mayke, who will become back up, much better than Mayke and Peruzzi.

-----

Summary

Will be doing the future transfers in another update next!

View attachment 392002
Future Transfers

We managed to tie up a deal for a player to join us when he becomes old enough in 2 years, and also tied up a deal for a mardy sod to leave in January!

View attachment 392000

So Rulli will be leaving in January to Corinthians for just 5 Million. As soon as Leali came in, he went really mardy about game time etc. and I just couldn't be bothered with it so got rid of him!

-----

So we tied up a deal for a future right back!

View attachment 391999

Carlos Felipe Villanueva

Bargain at 2.5 Million! Cannot join us until he is 18, but when he comes here, can definitely see him being a great player for us! 3 Mexicans at the club now!

-----
-------------------------

Other Transfers

June

View attachment 391997

We made the biggest signing in June of Boot, and quite early on, was eager to get him in!

July

View attachment 391996

PSG made the biggest of July with 36.5 Million spent to bring in Thiago from Man City.

Another big deal was agreed as Alex Sandro left Porto for Man Utd for 32 Milion.

August

View attachment 391995

So as you already know we made the biggest signing of August with just 2 hours left on Deadline Day as we paid 45 Million for De Sciglio.

Community Shield

Newcastle United vs Chelsea

View attachment 391743

MOTM: Kevin Volland (Newcastle United)

So we retain the Community Shield in what is a very dominant performance and very good win in our first game of the season, with Volland in fine form with 2 goals!

Doesn't look like Chelsea ever really had a chance as well.

Premier Division

View attachment 391707

So, 2 games in and we are joint top with 2 other teams, both of us on 6 points! Too early on in the season to really say anything yet but we couldn't of had a better start!

Best Player of August

View attachment 391704

Ross Barkley

Barkley gets the first best player of this season as he gets 2 goals in 2 games, and I am sure if he featured in the West Ham game he would have got a good rating again! Din't feature due to rotation though.

So as you can see I have gone for a different format with the reporting of the games,

would love some feedback as to whether you prefer this or prefer it how it was?

Any comments are always welcome!

Cheers :)

European Super Cup

Newcastle United vs Bayern Munchen

View attachment 391693

MOTM: Thomas Muller (Bayern Munchen)

One of the most entertaining and challenging games we have had for a while!

1-0 up, 2-1 down, 3-2 up, was an amazing show of offensive capabilities from both sides! Not so good from the defences!

But then the penalty shoutout... stressing me out!

Finally won it 14-13, and as it was supposed to be, no Germans missed for Bayern!

Another cup to add to the collection!

World Cup Qualifying & Friendly

Very entertaining game in our world cup qualifier and yet another easy win in our friendly!

Romania vs Spain
World Cup Qualifier

View attachment 391487

MOTM: Isco (Spain)

So I thought this would be a routine easy win but it turned out to be a lot more entertaining that that!

After we took our 3-0 lead Romania fought back and managed to bring it back to 3-2 and I really thought they were gonna come back all fired up in the 2nd half!

And to be honest they did! They had many chances themselves, only difference being we were the ones who took advantage of our chances!

World Cup Qualifier Group

View attachment 391485

So we now sit 6 points clear at the top of the group, still unbeaten and with an extremely stronger goal difference! We now just need 1 point to qualify!

------------------------------

Spain vs Iran
Friendly

View attachment 391484

MOTM: Juan Mata (Spain)

Very easy game with a very easy win in a match we completely dominated and if we could finish better we would have got even more goals! Disappointed we conceded 1 though.

So not a brilliant month, but still not too bad. I hate Arsenal!

------------------------------

Newcastle United 0 - 0 Man City
Premier Division

View attachment 391472

So think we deserved to win here as we were the much better side, finishing was quite an issue here as we managed just 6 of our 15 shots on target.

Newcastle United 3 - 0 Vitesse
Champions Cup Group Stage

View attachment 391471

MOTM: Mateo Kovacic (Newcastle United)

Incredible performance from us but yet again our finishing is atrocious with just 9 of 32 on target! Really appalling, but still, given that, quite pleased we managed to score 3!

------------------------------

Arsenal 2 - 0 Newcastle United
Premier Division

View attachment 391470

MOTM: Eder Alvarez Balanta (Newcastle United)

Well... this was one **** of a dirty game! 12 yellow cards, 1 red, a penalty, and we actually ended up being fined for getting 7 yellow cards! Oopsie! But glad we were still able to get the win, and to even go on and increase our lead, even when down to 10 men!

MOTM: Ravel Morrison (Newcastle United)

Good performance to end the month as we outplay Watford and actually get a decent amount of shots on target (compared to what we usually get) and actually make them count as well!

So we now sit down in 4th, but we are only 2 points off 1st so not too much of an issue, especially at this early a stage in the league. Happy to see Sunderland in the relegation zone already though!

So just one game in we are top, 2 points clear with a better goal difference than everyone... couldn't have been a better start!

Lucas Romero

With the amount of good players we have, I will be rotating a lot so its going to be hard to choose who gets this monthly! Romero gets it this month as he did enough to be a mainstay in my team this month and when he played he played very well, even popping up with a goal and an assist!
