What a performance as we run out well deserved winners here but again its all out midfielders that run the game as usual.

We get very lucky here as we get a late goal and then just do enough on penalties to get into the 3rd round

FA Cup 2nd Round
Exeter v York City

We continue our journey in the FA Cup as expected and we will be in it after Christmas again.

York City v Scunthorpe

In the league we seem to be scoring for fun just now which shows just how good our team is and the level they should be playing at.

York City v Leyton Orient

Our striker finally decides to get in on the fun but our wingers also get in on the show to show that they're they main goal threats.

Stockport County v York City

Out old foe from last season were no match for us. I was disappointed to concede two goals but at least we still scored 4

Carlisle v York City

Another 4 goals scored and Smith scored a cracker from 25 yards out to show what he can do.

Caraboa Cup Quarter Final
York City v Brighton

It was our turn to be on the end of a 4 goal hammering as Brighton but us in our place.

AFC Wimbledon v York City

Finally somebody gives us a game and the red card didn't make the final 5 minutes much fun but we hold on for the 3 points/

League

We continue to extend our lead at the top of the table and its now just a forgone conclusion that we'll be going up.

Another 9 games this month so rotation will be key again but we will be looking to add to the squad.

Hopefully we can get a gem of a player coming through our intake but we'll see what happens come April​

Transfers Out

The only players leaving early in the transfer window were the recall of a couple of loan players by their parents clubs and then it all kicked off with a week to go when Derby bid for Iqbal who has been with us through the leagues so far first on loan and then finally joining in a permanent deal and its a record deal for the club bringing in a whopping £625,000 along with him re-joining the club on loan for the rest of the season. Another 4 players left the club for pretty small fees in comparison.

Transfers In

The first two deals were completed in December to try and bring in players that we needed from the start of the month to beat our competition for them. So Bobby Duncan joins from Derby for only £50,000 which I'm hoping is an absolute steal while Liam Morrison joins from Bayern for £75,000 and will come in as a back up option.

Powell and Morrison joining for free transfers at the end of the month were small panic signings as I'd got to the end of the month and realised I'd sold two players who could play in CM along with Iqbal getting injured and missing at least 4 weeks left us very short so Powell joins on an 18 month contract whereas Morrison on joins until the end of the season to provide cover and also share their experience with the younger players.

Scunthorpe v York City

Its good to see Duncan make an instant impact as he scores on the same day as he arrives at the club to show he is capable of leading the line.

Middlesbrough v York City

Neither team could take their chances here but we got lucky in the penalty shootout and move to the quarter finals.

York City v Millwall

It was an entertaining first half for the fans and our journey continues in the FA Cup once again.

Crawley Town v York City

After the Millwall game we needed to rotate and McCarren came into the starting XI and tore Crawley to pieces scoring an excellent hat-trick to show why he is fighting with Leko for the starting position down the LW.

Crewe v York City

Leko straight back on the scoresheet to show why he's still ahead of McCarren but Duncan also gets his 2nd goal for the club.

Cheltenham v York City

Cheltenham just weren't at the races today as we run riot against them getting 4 goals. One from each of our 4 best players at the moment.

Port Valve v York City

Port Vale pushed us here after taking the lead but Telford comes back in for a goal along with Liam Morrison scoring on his first start for the club.

Duncan and Leko seem to be getting a good partnership going at the moment as both were involved in both of the goals with a goal and an assist each as we did enough to move into the semi final.

League

we have extended our lead again to 18 points whereas we have a 23 point lead over 4th place so we should get our 3rd straight promotion.

We come up against Brighton again this time in the FA Cup so hopefully we can do better than we did in the Caraboa Cup​

Even when teams score first we still sweep them aside as we continue to run amok.

York City v Newport County

You think these comfortable wins would get boring but they don't as I know they won't last forever as we go up through the leagues.

We get revenge for the hammering we took from them in the Caraboa Cup and continue into the next round of the cup.

Harrogate Town v York City

Our attacking players are all on fire and its good to see Morrison get on the scoresheet as well, maybe we'll end up keeping him longer than his 6 month contract.

York City v Barrow

You know a game is going to go well when your 2 up in 3 minutes.

York City v Doncaster

Powell with his first goal of the club to show he's not too far past it yet and gives me faith that I made the right decision in bringing him in.

Walsall v York City

2 goals from our CB to show how important set pieces are to us but with this win it also brings Promotion to League One next season

League

Promotion confirmed now just to wrap up the title and start planning for next season.

Budgets

Not as much as I was hoping for after last season but we'll do our best and improve the squad with it anyway.

Nothing like 2 penalties in the final 11 minutes to win you the game.

Well Swansea absolutely hammer us after we took the lead and sadly we go out much earlier than last season.

What a first half as we race to a 4-0 lead and get a big win.

We get lucky here as Osho manages to score from a set piece to reach the final.

A poor result here as we drop down to 10 men and then concede straight after it.

We get back to winning ways thankfully as Tavares gets a quick fire double for us.

Not the best game for us but we do enough to scrape the win and secure the league title with another 6 games to go

Well the league is tied up now so now to start concentrating on next season.

The End of the Season

Stevenage v York City

Osho seems to be the specialist when we only need one goal to win.

It looked like the game was going to be tie until the final 20 minutes where out extra fitness shown through as we manage to win another piece of silverware for the club.

We get the early goal to get us on our way before Duncan secured the victory.

Leyton Orient v York City

We love an early goal and its Morrison who gets it this time but we do run out comfortable winners.

York City v Stockport County

We've had a good couple of seasons playing against Stockport but our final game against them this season was great as we put 4 past them.

Bradford City v York City

A poor result again but we did manage to pull it back to avoid the loss.

York City v Carlisle

What a way to end the season as we get a nice big win in front of out own fans to complete the season undefeated in the league

Well we end up winning 41 games and drawing the other 5. It will be interesting to see how it goes next season as I firmly believe most of this team can compete next season​

Season 4 Preseason

Transfers Out

For once we have managed to hold onto all of our players meaning that we will just be looking for the right players to get us into the Championship

Transfers In

We only bring in 5 players but this time I've decided to go for some experience as well as it is vital for getting the most from our younger players and that will be the role of Jacob Maddox and Jordan Jones this season and hopefully they do well and then we can sell them for a decent fee which always helps as well.

One area we really needed to strengthen was in goal and we smashed the club transfer record to sign Thomas McGill from Mansfield and to show his calibre he currently has 6 caps for Canada which he will hopefully increase over his time at the club.

Preseason

Apart from a rocky start against Gateshead it was fairly strong with some big results against some stronger teams.

Expectations

Some pretty low expectations here and again we will be looking to do a lot better as usual.

The Start

A tough start against Portsmouth and then Derby in the cup but after that its a pretty straight forward month

Coaching Badge

I finally get onto my final coaching badge so hopefully come next summer we'll be in the Championship and I'll be fully qualified and ready to make a push at the premiership​

Well it looks like its a great start to the season showing that we're not going to have many problems this year.

A nice victory in the cup. I didn't think we'd have many issues after beating them 7-2 in a freindly

Our 2nd 4-0 win in a row in the league to show just how good we are.

Our 4th clean sheet in a row here. How long can it continue.

York City v Walsall

We fall behind early on but we come right back in the 2nd half and move into the 3rd round of the caraboa cup.

Lincoln City v York City

We were really pushed here and it was a nervy final half hour for us to hold onto a 1 goal victory.

League

Top of the league on goal difference but its a great start to our season.

Some big games in the league for us this month that will properly test the level we're at.

Transfers

We let Dom Telford leave to join Bolton for £46.5k

To replace Telford we managed to bring Bradley Fick in on loan from Dortmund who will be picking up his wages for us as well.

Parent Club

It sadly comes too late for us in this transfer window to take advantage but it could be huge for us going forward as we announce Man City as a parent club

We get very lucky here as we scrape by with a last minute winner to get off to a winning start in the group

We seem to be doing the same as last season and just getting past teams in the league for a win.

Well there will be no undefeated season this yet as we lose our first game of the season

I expected a bit of a tougher game here but Fink gets his first 2 goals for the club.

What a game we absolutely punish Bournemouth here in what was an amazing opening 36 minutes.

Burton Albion v York City

A nice comfortable win against Burton with the goals coming from our defenders.

League

Top of the league by goal difference but it looks like its going to be a 2 horse race for the title

Its the start of the busy months as we have 8 games to get through so the rotation of the squad is going to be key to see us through​

Bobby Duncan has grown into our main striker as he can get goals at any level.

The U23's were awful here and we were able to take full advantage here to get our 2nd win in a row in the group stage.

We were on for a comfortable win before the sending off but we were able to take full advantage of it as well to get another 2 goals.

Walsall v York City

An early goal from Leko was just what we needed here before his replacement at half time got the 2nd as well.

Blackpool v York City

This was disappoint as I feel we should of got the 3 points but we gave away a cheap penalty and there wasn't enough time left to get a winner.

Burnley v York City

We are now 6 points off top spot but I'd decided to postpone a couple of games due to international games so we still have those games in hand.

9 games this month and this time we won't be postponing any as it will just catch up with us another month like it has this time.

Youth Facilities

I'm not sure if its a wise decision yet but we have invested about 99% of our bank balance into upgrading the youth facilities but I am thinking long term here as we just need to produce one great player to get the money back.

A penalty and a goal in the final third of the game and its enough to see us cancel out Forest Green's goal and get us the 3 points.

Cambridge United v York City

The sign of great teams here are as even when we play badly we do enough to secure a 1-0 win.

We were able to rotate some players here but it was our key players who do the work to get us into the 2nd round/

We do enough to finish the group top of the table with a 100% record and move into the next round.

Bolton v York City

We left it very late but its a very comfortable win in the end thanks to Jones and Powell.

York City v Crawley Town

A really poor game here we just weren't able to take advantage of our early goal and in the end sloppy defending cost us.

York City v Accrington Stanley

We get back to winning ways as we sweep another team aside to keep our hunt for the title going.

Preston v York City

Recently relegated Preston just weren't able to cope at all against us as Duncan gets off to a quick start before Osho just after half time to get us the 3 points.

League

We are still 6 points behind but still have 2 games on hand to catch them.

Another 8 games this month as we will look to progress in both the cups along with staying competitive in the league.

Tranmere weren't in with a chance here as we sweep them aside to get into the 3rd round.

Fink is on fire just now as he pops up at the back post to score a final minute winner which was probably unfair to Middlesbrough as a draw would of been fair here.

Peterborough v York City

Fink with his 6th goal in 4 games so he's keeping Duncan out the starting XI at the moment.

Wycombe v York City

Bradley Fink strikes again. There is no stopping this young striker just now as he tears the league to pieces.

York City v Preston

We looked to be on for a very comfortable win here and then did our best to throw it away.

York City v Rochdale

Garrick rolling it back to last seasons form getting an excellent brace from the RW.

Middlesbrough v York City

A repeat of the score line from earlier in the month as we squeeze past them again.

League

We go top of the league by a point with a game still in hand.

Another busy month for us but we will need to get use to it for next season in the Championship.

We have completed one transfer that we had agreed a while ago but needed to wait for him to turn 18 as we sign Shea Kemp from Glenavon for £5,000

So we have 2 players leaving the club in this window with the board accepting an offer for Scott Carson which I was disappointed with as I would of liked more of the fee upfront rather than add-ons but I guess it will boost the balance sheet further down the line hopefully

Coming into the club I was busy signing people who's contracts we up at the end of the season since I couldn't get them on precontract deals but I'm hoping this gives them a chance to come in and start playing to be ready for the Championship next season.

I am also very proud of bringing in former Arsenal player Tyreece John-Jules to lead the line over the next season or two and then hopefully sell for a nice profit

A really poor result here as we should of had enough to win this game.

Wigan v York City

A much better performance here as Jordan Jones gets us back in front to get us back to winning ways

Nothing like an early corner to win the game but its a shame that the rest of the game was pretty dull.

We sneak through here thanks to our keeper as if it wasn't for him we would of gone out here.

We get back to our high scoring ways here as John-Jules gets a goal on his debut to get his confidence up on his return to football.

Oxford United v York City

Our first loss for a while here. Oxford were just the better team here and did well keeping us out.

York City v MK Dons

We leave it to the final half hour but we bounce back with a great win and were able to take full advantage of the red card as well to ramp it up.

Another team swept aside as we stroll to another impressive win.

We get revenge over Oxford after they beat us in the last game and it was the unlucky hero of Jordan Jones.

Our cup run comes to an end as we are still way off Premier League standard.

Huddersfield v York City

Duncan comes back into the team and ends his 10 hour goal drought with an excellent brace to get 3 important points.

York City v Burton Albion

A poor game here as we undo all our hard work from the last game but we'll keep fighting right to the end for another title.

York City v Blackpool

We bounce back as our two strikers both manage to score to show what they can do.

Forest Green v York City

More dropped points sadly, Are we going to throw it all away in the end.

York City v Cambridge United

A much better performance again, its a shame it takes dropped points to get them sometimes but John-Jules scores an excellent 22 minute hat-trick.

League

We have confirmed our play off spot along with Huddersfield and it should be too long before we're both confirmed as going up.

Well this game secures another promotion for us and we will be playing in the Championship next season.

Nobody was going to beat us here as we were on a high and we show that with getting goals from every part of the pitch

John-Jules is on a fine bit of form just now and long may it continue as he's scored in 5 of the last 6 games.

We've made it to another cup final but it was a good game and John-Jules is showing that we made the right decision to bring him to the club on a free transfer.

Our defence has really stepped it up in these last few league games as we keep yet another clean sheet.

Turns out it all went to our heads but we did really well to fight back from 2-0 down at half time to salvage a point and keep our title challenge alive.

Something seems to have gone wrong as we had to fight back from a losing position for the 2nd game in a row to salvage a point.

Thanks to result going our way we now have a 5 point lead with 4 games remaining

Budget

We've had a big increase to the wage budget but we're going to have to rely on free transfers from the look of the budget or think about selling some players for a rebuild.

Youth

Sadly these are the best youth players to come through this season and I don't feel any will have a long term future at the club.

April/May

Every game is going to be a cup final here as we want to go up as Champions again.​

Cheers, Its the worst budget I've had since the starting one so certainly disappointed with it. I reckon a 2-3 seasons in the championship as feel the team we have should at least be mid table so just need to keep hold of the players and then add some quality and depth as we ll

The Final Games

Papa John's Trophy Final
Port Vale v York City

What a start to the final as we go into the leaf after only 4 minutes thanks to a penalty but we couldn't build on it but we win the trophy for the 2nd year running.

Northampton v York City

A much tighter game than I would of liked and it didn't really get much easier after the sending off and out 2nd goal but we hold on/

York City v Peterborough

We gave away a cheap penalty here and were on the back foot after that but an excellent solo run from Maddox got the goal that secured us a point.

Accrington Stanley v York City

We had to fight back from a losing position again but this time we at least get the 3 points from the end of it but with results going the way they did then the title goes to the final game of the season

York City v Wycombe

I thought after conceding early it wasn't going to be our game but Garrick got us back in it as we knew we only needed a point for the title but the sending off for Wycombe made things much easier for us as we secure the title on the final day.

League

Turns out we didn't even need the win as Huddersfield lost their final game to give us a title by 5 points

New Stadium

Well this came completely out of the blue since the current stadium was only built in 2019 and I'm sure it won't be big enough for us if we get into the Premier League so we will see when we can get more information and how it will be financed later I'm sure​
