PRE-SEASON

This pre-season was pretty boring to be honest. I have so far found it hard to bring in some players and with the World Cup going on (won by England) that was also a distraction. To be honest it was a waste of a few months!!!!

In the Champions League qualifier we will play Botev Plovdiv.

PLAYERS IN

I went to Chelsea to get my new signings. Isaiah Brown has returned for another season on loan so it is as you were there while I brought in Nathaniel Chalobah after he was released in the summer and I am planning on playing him at right back.

Kouakou and Mchunu have now got work permits though and are now part of my plans.

PLAYERS OUT

The main departure was Shaleum Logan who was sold to Reading for $1.2m. He made 207 appearances under me and scored 3 times and was a decent right back for me but he had just turned 30 and I needed an upgrade.

I also took in small fees for Kantolic, Smits and O'Hara while Scott Wright (48/12) was released alongside two young Croatians Galic and Zivkovic.

Out on loan went Roef to Hamilton and Bamba to Sochaux while a bunch of youngsters left on loan to join lower league clubs.

AROUND SCOTLAND

Peter Houston (Hibs), Alex Neil (St.Mirren) and Mark Warburton (Hamilton) are appointed
Scotland fail at the World Cup but Strachan keeps his job

great story..becoming very easy..you will get the champions league within 5 years

thanks - i must admit that the story is losing its appeal as domestically there is no challenge and it is just Europe that adds something.

when Scotland failed in the World Cup (3rd in the group with 1pt behind Iran!!!) I thought Strachan had to go and I would have a chance of the job to keep the stroy fresh but somehow he is still in place.

Aberdeen have had 2 maybe 3 reasonable seasons recently i know there a bigger club in scottish football but everyone knows apart from you and the "idiot" the beast in carnate know that they are certainly not the 3rd biggest team never mind 2nd in scottsh football poor fans and you play better with sheep than you do a football!

wow, A bit uncalled for. It was just a bit of banter.

im all good for banter and i like Aberdeen good for a night out but calling me an idiot when i was stating a fact thats uncalled for
i commented on this to get banter between a hearts fan and a aberdeen fan but when someone calls me an idiot when it was uncalled for ofcourse im going to get defensive.

fair enough

how did you manage to aford the likes of hazard and kramaric? good story though looking forward to an update!

cause there pretty good signings for a SPFL team, do you know what player instuctions he uses if any

jeezo - i go off for a day or two and it all happens!!!!

anywho - i dont use any player instructions - just team ones

as for the other stuff - i will ignore it as banter is all well and good but calling out peeps like that aint on.

and finally - i think this save has had its day as it is not enjoyable winning the title every season. if i was Scotland manager by now i would carry on but this is getting a bit too easy

i think i will start up a save and have a go of one until the transfer update comes out in March

Was about to post a reply when I saw that Hibs had won promotion... held off and thankful that I did since they're right back down again :(

Very enjoyable read. I'm also an Aberdeen fan living in Aberdeen. Started a season with them yesterday, if I'm half as successful as this I'll be chuffed.

On another note you'll find that Aberdeen are in fact in the top 3 biggest club in Scotland if you take in to consideration finance, attendances, leagues positions and history.
