New challange after a month break from FM

I've loaded England and Italys top 3 divisons and the top two in spain.

Starting at southampton my plan is to take them to the top in england winning the 3 main english trophys hopfully having some success in europe alon the way. Once i've compleated my domestic agenda with southampton i will look in the remaining countrys for a team outside the top flight to do the same with in either italy or spain then after doing that move on to the final nation. Hopfully i wont get sacked but if i do i'll cross that bridge when it comes.

This will end up being a very long story but hopfully i can make it intersting for you all and you will enjoy it as much as i hope i will.

Story will begin later!!!!!!!

Southampton's new chairman announces the man he expects too take southampton back to the premiership, Scotsman Darran Donald

View attachment 55108

Markus liebherr has announced Darran Donald as his man to take the glory days back to southampton. He has showed emence faith in Donald's abilitys by giving him such a big job as his first managment job in football. Will he lead them to the success expected? We will soon see.

Donald has been given a huge budget of £3m spending money plus a strong wage budget and will immediatly dip into the market to build as he put it "a premiership team"with huge changes expected before the season starts

Pre season
Had two big achievments in pre season. First we got Arsenal as a feeder team and from them be got Barazite. Second was the free signing of Gaston Fernandez. Had him in last years game in the premiership and he was handy enough so should walk it here. Also coming in are left back Monteyne from Belgium to fill our weekest position and a premiership keeper in Mike Pollitt to replace Kelvin Davis who i dont particularly rate. Had a huge clearout with many back up players relised or sold with younger players loaned out to try and get some experiance.

Southampton 2-0 Milwall
Barnard, Lambert
A impressive performance and a simple enough win with a squad almost totally inherited

Torquay 0-1 Southampton - Leauge cup 1st round
LAmbert
Another clean sheet but not such a good performance but a late lambert goal got us the points

Huddersfield 3-3 Southampton
Waigo, Lambert, Fernandez
This was 2 points dropped, went into a 2-0 lead early on before huddersfield went 3-2 ahead and we needed a late goal from Fernandez to get a point

swindon 1-2 southampton
Fernandez, Lambert
A hard fought victory with all the goals in the first half made the second 45 a very edgy affair

Southampton 4-0 Brentford
Fernandez 3, Lambert
A crushing win with Fernandez and Lambert running the show

Bristol City 3-0 Southampton - leauge cup 2nd round
Outclassed by our championship rivals as we go out in the 2nd round but it means we get to focus on the leauge

Stockport 1-1 southampton
Fernandez
A poor first 60 minutes ment a victory was beyond us with that performance

August month review - Have to be pleased that were already out of negitive points which is not bad considering i usually make a shakey start in the first season

View attachment 56048

Player of the month - Gaston Fernandez - Was between Fernandez and Lambert and Fernandez chipped in with a few more goals so he he gets my first award

View attachment 56049

Charlton 1-4 Southampton
Fernandez, Lambert 3
Lambert responds in the best way possible to his strike partners form by winning this game. Great result considering this should be one of our rivals

Southampton 3-2 Colchester
Hammond 2, fernandez
Another win but a new hero in Dean Hammond scoring a brace this time to beat the leauge leaders

southampton 4-0 yeovil
Lambert, Fernandez 3
a crushing win with the man of the moment Fernandez hitting top form today

Carlisle 2-2 Southampton
Barazite, fernandez
Carlisle almost got there 2nd win of the season today after being 2-0 down we threw this one away

Southampton 4-2 Bristol Rovers
Fernandez 3, Lambert
Again raced into a big lead and almost let Rovers back into it but a late fernandez goal made sure of the points

September month review - Remained unbeaten and got manager of the month a almost perfect month i must say.

View attachment 56056

Player of the month - Fernandez A recod of 15 goals in his 9 leauge games is impressive enough but he scored in every game this month to secure his second of many player of the month awards

View attachment 56057

Southampton 3-2 gillingham
Fernandez, 2, Connolly
A Very tough battle especially after going down to 10 men after 4 minutes but fernandez and connolly came to the front and got us our hardest earned 3 points of the season so far

Aldershot 1-4 SOuthampton - Johnstons paint Trophy Rnd 2
Schneiderlin, Lambert, fernandez, O'G
Took a while to get into the flow of the game but once we did we walked away with it in typical fashion

oldham 2-2 Southampton
Lambert, Fernandez
A case of 1 point gained rather than 2 points lost as we came back from a terrible start being 2-0 after 15 minutes

Southend 1-4 Southampton
Lambert 2, fernandez, Puncheon
Another convincing win as we walked past southend. On the donwnside a injury to Pernandez will have him out for the next few games

Southampton 5-3 Mk Dons
Lambert, Lallana, Schniderlin, puncheon 2
Youngster Puncheon came off the bench to save our blushes after going 3-0 up we again fell to pieces and MK came back to 3-3. Will have to investigate further why this keeps happning

Leyton Orient 3-2 Southampton
Fernandez, Connelly
Our first leauge defeat of the season see's us fall to a team looking likley to be promotion rivals come the end of the season

october month review - Continued to rocket up the table through the month but a few dodgy performances and a defeat to the O's. Also turned down the newcastle and Celta Vigo job. Was tempted by Newcastle but will stick to my plan!

View attachment 56084View attachment 56083

Player of the month - This is just becoming the monthly update on what Fernandez has done. a mere 5 goals this months

View attachment 56085

millwall 0-2 southampton - FA cup 1st round
lallana, fernandez
Our star man picks the perfect occasion to make his return to help us to the 2nd round of the cup

Swindon 2-1 southampton - Johnstone paint trophy south Q final
Lambert
Out of a trophy we had to win since we shouldnt have a chance to win it again. Yet again we fell away after being infront

southampton 3-1 brighton
Fernandez 2, Lambert
An easy win with brighton hiting a late consilation

Southampton 1-4 Norwich
Lambert
A pretty even match where we were only beaten by norwich's ability to get shots on target

Hartlepool 1-1 southampton
Fernandez
Another few points down the pan as we contiue our poor run of form

Port Vale 3-1 Southampton - FA Cup 2nd round
Lambert
A Dysmal performance. Totally deserved to go out. Just the leauge to focus on now then

November Month review - A Terrible month for us as we fell out of the trophy and FA Cup and have falled back in the leauge so a must improve. Hoping to sell of a few players in january so we can hold onto our promotion hopes

View attachment 56115

Player of the month - Lambert - him and fernandez are the only players to note in the team just now and this was even more apt this month

View attachment 56116

southampton 3-0 Wycombe
Lallana, Fernandez, Lambert
spent most of the game at 1-0 but the strikers knocking in one each to make sure of a comfortable win

walsall 0-4 southampton
fernandez 3, lambert
a stunning return to form to take us to 7 goals in our last 2 games without reply

southampton 5-2 tranmere
lallana 2, Fernandez 2, Waigo
Another display of our scoring skills. Defence was slacker than recent times but cant complain with a 5-2 win

leeds 5-4 Southampton
Lambert, connolly 2, lambert
A thriller of a game where we ent 4-1 down and pulled it all the way back to 4-4 just for beccio to score in the 86th minute

Southampton 0-1 exeter
Back to the terrible performance in front of goals we saw in november. Couldnt hit a barn dore syndrome

Colchester 1-1 southampton
Lambert
A very unconvincing point but a result non the less

December Month review - A return to the old form at the start of the month was followed by a dissapointing 1 point in 9 putting my job on the line

View attachment 56151

View attachment 56152

Player of the month - Lambert has taken over from Fernandez for scoring in almost every game

View attachment 56150

Brentford 3-2 Southampton
Lambert, Fernandez
today was further evidence that we have along way to go with the defensive side of this squad

Southampton 1-3 Huddersfield
Fernandez 2, Schniederlin
Were flying to a easy victory when tavlaridis got sent off in the last few minutes and got a 1 game ban

Millwall 1-3 southampton
Fernandez 2, schniederlin
A tricky tie against promotion rivals but a victory non the less

Southampton 3-0 Swindon
Fernandez 3
One man band gets us another 3 points

Southampton 0-1 Stockport
The classic match where everything goes against you. goal dissalowed and a 91st minute goal against us keeps my job on a knifedge apparently

View attachment 56212

January Month review - Two back to back wins surrounded by 3 defeates might be acceptable if i were in a religation battle but the form must improve during Febuary if were to keep our promotion charge ongoing

Player of the month - Despite a month of failure fernandez scored in all but 1 games although he was the one player that stood out

View attachment 56211

Transfer window
Only lost one player in Jose Fonte but the defence was going to be ripped up and put back together so a £1.7m was very happily accepted. Used the funds to buy two new center backs that will hopfully lead to some better defensive performances. Tavlaridis and Mareco cost a bit but if they get us into the championship then it will be ore than worth it.

View attachment 56213View attachment 56214

Exeter 1-2 Southampton
Fernandez, Lambert
A return to winning ways although it was a very edgy match where a late exeter goal made the last 10 minutes a very nervous affair

Southampton 2-0 Hartlepool
Barazite 2
Not one of our normal heros but a goalscoring display from our on loan midfielder got the points today

Norwich 4-1 Southampton
Connolly
Were always on the back foot and at 2-0 down we had to go for it so sacrificed a defender and went fot it. Looked smart when we got it back to 2-1 but as you can see it didnt continue to work

Wycombe 1-3 Southampton
Fernandez, Lallana, Connolly
A much improved performance to get right back to winning ways

Southampton 5-1 Walsall
Hammond, Waigo, Fernandez, Lambert, Mareco
A convincing win with 5 different scorers. Hopfully we can keep it up

Febuary Month review - A Pretty good month, Norwich game aside. Only 4 points away from an automatic promotion place. Hopfully we can start getting some result against our rivals in the top 6 to get there.

View attachment 57217

Player of the month - Im going to go for Schniederlin having broke into the first team with some good performances and Hammonds lack of confidence but has become a solid pick in the 1st team

View attachment 57216

Tranmere 2-3 Southampton
Lambert 3
Ricky Lambert was the hero here and helped his way into the hearts of all southampton fans by compleating his hatrick in hte 92nd minute

Southampton 3-1 Leeds
Waigo, Lambert 2
This is the kind of teams we have to get results against. This one takes us to 3rd

MK Dons 0-2 Southampton
Fernandez 2
A Fernandez double got us the 3 points today after a quiet spell by his standards

Southampton 2-1 Oldham
Fernandez 2
Another Fernandez double was the difference today and a late goal ensured a 5th win in a row

March Month review - a Perfect month as we finally get to the automatic promotion places with a 100% record in march. Still very tight at the top and going out of the play-off's means were far from able to take our foot off the gas

View attachment 57218

Player of the month - Has to be Fernandez and Lambert tie as the both played the main part in winning two matches each this month

View attachment 57219View attachment 57220

Brighton 1-3 Southampton
Mareco, Lallana, Lambert
Our form as come on leaps and bounds since febuary and another win puts us top

Southampton 3-0 Leyton Orient
Lambert, Lallana, Connolly
1st played 2nd today and the leaders walked to a convincing win

Southampton 3-1 Charlton
Lallana, Fernandez, Pucheon
Looks easyer than it was charlton put up a strong fight and it wasnt till the second half we went on our way to a 9th win in the row

Bristol Rovers 3-2 Southampton
Lambert, Connolly
Our long run finnally comes to a end and the gap at the top is down to 1 point between us and leends and Leyton Orient

Yeovil 1-3 Southampton
Lambert, schniederlin, Puncheon
Went 1-0 down and it looked like our form had took a turn for the worst but we fought back strong and got the win

Southampton 3-0 Carlisle
Lambert, Fernandez, Hammond
our 30th Win of the season puts us 1 win away from the title with a 3 point gap, 2 games to go and a huge goal difference advantage

Gillingham 1-3 Southampton
Waigo, Fernandez, Lambert
Leeds defeat means were up and this win means were champions unless LEyton can overturn a 27 goal difference

Southampton 4-2 Southend
Lallana, Fernandez 3
Our star shone brightly in our last game of the season as we picked up our title in style

April/May Month review - Title was secured despite a slight hiccup on the way. Fantastic season

Player of the month - Vic Mareco Was unhappy At brescia and has plugged the gap in the defense and has been a key player in our surge to the top. His importaints to the team was evident as in his first game out injured we lost 3 goals to Bristol ROvers

Seasons review to follow later

2009/2010 Season Review

Coca Cola Leauge 1
A fantastic run from the end of January is the main reason for our title win. Although our form all season wasnt too bad all season except for a dodgy patch through December and January. All that aside we won the leuage by 4 points even with a 10 point handycap, 92 points, 32 wins, 123 goals and a goal difference of +60. Overall a very good season in the leuage

View attachment 57368
View attachment 57369View attachment 57370

Carling Leauge cup
Only got to the second round before we got take apart by Bristol City. Would have liked to get through to play a premiership team but theres always next time

Johnstons paint Trophy
Again would have to be dissapointed to be knocked out at the quarter finals by Swindon, Although this was when we were on our poor run, and have to be even more dissapointed since we probably wont have a chance to win it again

FA Cup
Like the Paint Trophy we came up against Port Vale at the hight of our bad run but progress in the leauge was the main priority.

Player of the season
1st Gaston Fernandez
51 goals 49 in the leauge ment he was unrivaled to the award of player of the season although he wasnt as prolific at the end of the season as he was at the start still he had an amazing season

View attachment 57371

2nd Rickie Lambert
He also had an amazing season with 33 goals in the leauge giving him a very strong chance of holding onto his place for next season unless a very good player turns up

View attachment 57372

3rd Adam Lallana
Decided to put Lallana on the wing with plenty of cover for the middle of the park, It prove to be a very wise chioce as he got 9 goals and 14 assists and got a average rating of 7.14 too secure his place in my top 3

View attachment 57373

Season overview
Delighted to win the leauge with the -10 point start but terrible performances in all cups wasnt very welcome but getting up the leauges is the priority just now.

Coca Cola Leauge 1 - Winners
FA Cup - 2nd Round
Carling Leauge Cup - 2nd Round
Johnstone trophy - Quarter finals South

Following a promotion the main focus was to improve the squad so that was what i set out to do. In the freebies market i Came across almost a whole 1st x1 and a few youth players as back up. The two players i expect to make the biggest impact are Mchedlidze, and Lazafame who i expect to contribute alot of goals in place of Lambert and Papa Wiego. Although Almiron, Boumsong and Storari all should be good enough to get me into the premiership.
The premiership is a realistic target with the media prediction for us being 6th so we'll see how we get on. Target from the board is also playoffs but i'd expect to be reaching there with the improvments we've made and if all is not going to plan we hve £8m of a budget left to spend.

Season targets 2010/11 - Target again is to get through the leauges so another promotion is all i really want this season. Will probably use the cup to give youngsters a chance

Championship - Promotion
FA Cup - 3rd round
Carling Cup - 3rd round

Main Signings

Lanzafame - Was signed up in jnuary on a pre contract deal and was a perfect replacement for Papa Wiego also being a free helpes
View attachment 57936

McHedlidze - Looks like he'll turn into a quality forward if he can develop. He was my second top addition last January and i have faith that he can come in and take over from Lambert hopfully scoring as oftain as Lambert did
View attachment 57937

Almiron - The former Juventus center mid comes at a high price of £24000 a week in wages and after a few seasons on loan to other Seria A teams was relised by Juvi and i was quite surprised he signed up
View attachment 57934

Boumsong - Failed at Newcastle but i'd suspect he would be up to the standard of the championship and if h somehow doesnt come up to that then he's easily my best defender
View attachment 57935

Storari - To be honest i have never herd of Storari before but i liked the look of him alot and i suspect he can do a job as my new no1 although he'll be under plenty of scrutiny as we've picked up a decent young keeper from romania in Fulea and Arsenal gave us Szczesny on loan so plenty of strenght in the keepers department
View attachment 57938

Main Sales

Rickie Lambert - With 2 deecent youth Strikers coming in along with Mchedlidze Lambert was set to fall well down the order so decided he wouldnt be good enough to be in the premiership when we get there so a £1.9m offer wasnt to be frowned upon
View attachment 57939

Full transfer breakdown - Alot of players let go but most of these were back up's of reserves at best and were not at a good enough standard to stay

View attachment 57941

Championship Transfers
Fulham are the biggest spenders with the two biggest transfers in a attempt to jump strieght back into the top flight.Wigan and burnley have also made some larger transfers to attempt a top flight return

View attachment 57940

And onto 2010/2011 will hopefully get the August update on tonight

Plymouth 2-3 Southampton
Mchedlidze 2, Almiron
Took a while to get going and had to comeback from 2-1 down to get the 3 points on our return to the championship

Colchester 4-3 Southampton - Leauge cup 1st round
Coda, Destro 2
Our youth players threw away a 3-1 lead in a disasterous game for us here as much as the cup wasnt our priority

Coventry 2-4 Southampton
Schneiderlin 2, Fernandez 2
a convincing win, Was great to see Fernandez get his first goals of the season too, COuld he be in line for a second golden goot award

Southampton 3-0 Nottm Forest
Cherundolo, Fernandez, Almiron
Convincing as we could be in our first home game of the season and were the first team to put goals past Forest this season

Southampton 1-3 Preston
schniederlin
Our first dissapointing result of the season as we just didnt have a answer to preston

Bristol city 1-0 Southampton
Just couldnt find the target today and a second unwelcome resut was what we got

August Month review - Made a fantastic start wand were top after 3 games and were scoring freely but the last two games were shocking infront of goal but hopefully we'll be back on track against leeds next time out. Decided against anyfurther big transfers but got a young Congan right midfielder Zinga as further depth

View attachment 58148View attachment 58147

Player of the month - Fernandez Might not feature here as much as last year with more a more competative squad but Fernandez was the best out of everyone this month as he got up to 50 leauge goals right at the start of a second season
