Southampton 1-1 Leeds
lallana
We should have got 3 points here but another poor performance infront of goal means we only take apoint here

Ipswich 0-3 Southampton
Hammond, Mchedlidze, Schniederlin
0-0 at half time so i put the boot in and told them to pull there socks up and in the second half we stormed to victory

Southampton 3-1 Sheff Wed
Fernandez, Coda, Schniederlin
Againt a bit of encouragment at halftime made all the difference along with the introduction of Coda made the difference

Southampton 3-1 Portsmouth
Fernandez, Coda, mchedildze
A big win against our fierces rivals in convincing way as there misrable start of the season is countered by soton returning to the top of the table

View attachment 58217

Newcastle 1-1 Southampton
Fernandez
A very acceptable result againt a team that will probably be in the promotion fight come the end of the season. Had to come from behind but were unlucky not to ****** a winner at the end

September Month review - 2nd in the table and just 3 points behind leeds with a game in hand. Unbeaten in september too so plent to be happy with

View attachment 58218

Player of the month - Francesco Coda / Morgan Schneiderlin - Decided it was a tie between these two youngsters. Both players scored importaint goals and put in performances that more than cement there places in the starting 11, Keeping out more established stars

View attachment 58216View attachment 58219

Southampton 3-2 Watford
Fernandez 2, Puncheon
Match we never really had a problem with although we were never really safe another 3 points though

Southampton 3-1 Burnley
Schniederlin, Destro, Almiron
Burnley were another team that put up a strong fight but we overcame that to get anotehr win

Reading 3-5 Southampton
Mchedlidze, Fernandez 2, Almiron, Traore
Southampton today graduated from the school if you score 1 we score two

QPR 1-3 Southampton
Mchedlidze, Fernandez, Zinga
a second away game in three days and a second win is just what the doctor ordered, along with a debut goal for zinga

Southampton 1-0 Wigan
Coda
Our October run was put on the line untill we got a 86th minute penalty Where under all the pressure 16 year oldFrancesco Coda knocked he ball in to get a huge 3 points

October Month review - 15 goals scored during a 100% winning month and when it came to a tight game against wigan where it was difficult to break them down we fought hard in defense and got the 3 points. All is going well, too well you could say

View attachment 58369

Player of the month - Fernandez found some of his Leauge 1 form to strike us to the top of the leauge

View attachment 58369

Cardiff 5-1 Southampton
Schniederlin
Wow something went very wrong today and it wasnt helped by going 4-0 down by half time ment the game was over. A 6 month injury to Mchedlidze made a bad day worse

Southampton 3-1 Sheff Utd
Puncheon, Coda, Destro
Played alot better today although needed a late second half rally of goals to get the 3 points

Norwich 2-1 Southampton
Destro
Another frustrating away match where we just couldnt get a second goal to get something out of this game

Southampton 5-1 Barnsley
Fernandez 4, Coda
The Fernandez show comes into the championship with a cushing display

Scunthorpe 1-1 Southampton
Lanzafame
With 10 men we did well to hold on and get a point but thats been a whole month without a away win

November Month review - A very mixed month where we went from a thumping from Cardiff to dishing out out own thrashing to Barnsley. After a poor month in away terms especially were still 4 points clear at the top

View attachment 58404

Player of the month - Destro Was our key striker this month with plenty of goals and assists. Fernandez had a super performance against Barnsley but was quieter than normal elsewhere

View attachment 58403

Southampton 5-0 swansea
Fernandez 2, Coda, Mareco, Zinga
A crushing display the forwards were on fire and a man of the match display by Zinga on the wing was also pleasing

Crystal Palace 0-3 Southampton
Coda, Fernandez, Lanzafame
Was a close match till Coda gave us the lead on half time but in hte second half our superior fitness told and we strolled to the 3 points in the end

Southampton 7-1 Doncaster
Lallana 2, Fernandez, Coda 4
A devistating performance infront of goal where Coda was the star scoring 4, made 2 and got a 10.0 raiting

View attachment 59424

Southampton 2-0 Covenrty
Fernandez, Mareco
not the dominating displays of the last few games but another comfortable win at St Marys

Preston 4-1 Southampton
Fernandez
WTF went wrong here really annoyed by how poor we were today, defense fell to pieces and we couldnt hit the goals for toffie

Nottm Forest 0-4 Southampton
Almiron, Coda, Fernandez, Zinga, destro
4 quickfire goals in 17 second half minutes was just the responce we needed after loosing at Preston. Tavlaridis's red card i the 89th minute was the one downside in a otherwise perfect game

December Month review - Preston aside we destroyed everyone that we came up against. Our goalscoring has been the key to our success in the first half of the year with Fernandez continuing his form from last year and his new partner in crime Coda pulling a few rabbits out of the hat

View attachment 59422

Player of the month - Leading the charge was 17 year old Francisco Coda scoring 7 goals in the 6 gams we played this month. On this form its hard to see a way back for Mchedlidze when he's fit again

Good luck for the Championship mate

Check out ym Bojan Krkic Story

Middlesbrough 2-3 Southampton - FA Cup 3rd Round
Coda 2, schniederlin
A superb win considering half the team was missing with injurys and suspensions and the fact im not worried how we do in the cups with promotion being my aim this term

Southampton 1-0 Bristol City
almiron
A closer match in the championship but still we kept the show on the road with another 3 points

Leeds 1-3 Southampton
Fernandez 2, Zinga
Came back from 1-0 down against our Promotion rivals but the usual source of goals, Fernandez and on eby youngster Zinga game us a second huge away win in a row

Southampton 3-1 Plymouth
Zinga, O'G, Coda
Strolled into a 3-0 lead before Montyne got two bookings and was sent off but even with 10 men Plymouth only had time to break us down once

Southampton 1-0 Ipswich
Coda
First sign that i might have to get some new players in over january with most of the team going into red with fitness being a worrying into the red

Norwich 4-1 Southampton - Fa Cup 4th round
Destro
Had to play my back up team for my 1st team players to get back to fitness so sacrificed a good cup run to try and get the championship wrapped up as soon as possible

Sheff Wed 1-4 Southampton
Fernandez 2, Coda 2
The goals were flowing again with both strikers getting a double and two interesting stats appeared during the match as Fernandez made his 75th leauge appearance and scored his 75th leauge goal. amazing

Southampton 2-3 Reading
Fernandez 2
We were totally mugged here was 2-2 in a even match then on the 81st minute we scored what appeared to be the winner, Disaloud. Then on the 85st minute we scored what appeared to be the winner. Dissaloud, Sound familure? In the 91st minute Reading Counter attacked and got a toally undeserved winner. Not that it upsets me :)

Jauary Month review - Looked like we were on the way to securing the leauge title when we went 2-0 up against reading to go 17 points clear at the top but a dodgy ref decision or three has turned it into a slightly less comfortable 11 point lead. Still never thought we'd be doing this well in our first season in the championship

View attachment 59451

Player of the month - Fernandez having taken his record to more goals than games he had played in. A remarkable 77 goals in 76 games, Not bad for a freebie

View attachment 59452

Transfer Window - Little change came with the window loaned out youngsters Pesti and Fulea. And the one player who left was David Lanzafame for £4.3m which was too much for someone who arrived on a free just 6 months ago and Zinga had ousted him from hte first team so aslon as Zinga and Lallana stay fit we shouldnt miss him

just read through this story, keep it up! following btw

Watford 0-1 Southampton
Fernandez
Bombarded Watford for over 70 minutes before we got any success and it was predictable Fernandez who got the vital goal on a day Reading Drew with cardiff allowing us to pull a bit further clear at the top

Portsmouth 3-1 Southampton
Coda
Revenge by Pompy who are storming back up the table. We can afford the odd slip up through bad performance but would prefer to win the leauge first

Southampton 1-0 Newcastle
Fernandez
A dead even match where our superiror defenders were the difference between 3 points and 1

In the run up to this match we got Carlos Vela on loan from arsenal to give us some quality back up to our strikers to hopfully get us the leauge title

View attachment 59648

Burnley 0-3 Southampton
Zinga 3
The Zinga show was in full flow today, showing the kind of skills that have real madrid and Deportivo knocking down the door to get him

Febuary Month review - Big dissapointment in loosing to our biggest rivals convincingly however the rest of the month went pretty much to plan as our gap at the top went up to 15 points

View attachment 59650

Player of the month - Zinga His stunning display against Burnley as well as a few assists made him our new star of the month

View attachment 59649

Nicely done, but which tactics you are using? Could we get a screen of the formations and philosophy?

Southampton 4-0 QPR
Coda, O'G, Almiron, Vela
4-0 was another great result on our march towards the championship, Vela got his first goal and Mchedlildze made his first appearance in several months off the bench after recovering from a broken foot

Wigan 2-2 Southampton
Boumsong, Fernandez
A good comeback after falling 2-0 down in the first 10 mins to two penaltys

Southampton 4-0 Cardiff
Coda, Fernandez, Almiron, Zinga
8 goals in two home games is more proof that we should be playing in a higher leauge

Sheff Utd 2-4 Southampton
Coda 2, Vela, Zinga
A zinga inspired performance today as we achieved Promotion with 6 games to go. The title will follow with 2 more wins

Southampton 3-0 Norwich
Agirre, O'G, Kennedy
Gave a few youngsters a run out today and they didnt dissapoint as we controlled the whole match with 3 young defenders keeping a clean sheet

March Month review - Guarrenteed promotion and a title all but assured in an unbeaten month. Just the title left to pick up

View attachment 60019

Player of the month - Fernandez picked up some more importaint goals in our push towards the title and has again been a superstar for us

View attachment 60020

For my tactics they obviously depend who and where im playing. At the moment we must be the best team in the Leauge so the all out attacking formation is my choice and it gets loads of goals. Next seson i will have to go more concervative unlessi can bring in some awsome players in the summer

View attachment 60021 View attachment 60022

Barnley 0-3 Southampton
Destro 2, Coda
Our teenage italian strikeforce got us the win over Barnsley that guarrentee us the Championship title at the first try of asking

Southampton 2-0 Scunthorpe
Puncheon, Destro
Some fine play from our back up players as the 100 points barrier is reached

Swansea 0-2 Southampton
Destro, Agirre
Im amazed with the back up players this team has. Yet another win and despite only having 1 first team defender in the squad today

Southampton 0-3 Crystal Palace
Well this was a turn up for the books. THe youth players finally ran out of steam today. One game left so might go stronger to go up with a bang

Doncaster 2-3 Southampton
Zinga, Fernandez, Mchedlidze
Far from convining victory but a win in our final match outside the top flight

April Month review - Youth players played the whole month up to the finale and played well beyond my expectations of them as we continued to romp the leuage

View attachment 60059

Player of the month - Destro came in for a run in the first team and scored plenty of goals to ensure his place in hte squad next term

View attachment 60058

Season review to come!

2010/2011 Season Review

Coca Cola Championship
Might be biased but i'd say we totally dominated the leauge this season, Even more so than leauge 1. +66 on goal differnece and 106 points were both improvments on last term

View attachment 60086
View attachment 60087

Carling Leauge cup
Went out in a total thriller with the back up players not quite up to scratch at this point in the season ment we were poor and out at the first hurdle

FA Cup
This was slightly better Beat Middlesbrough of the premiership in a awsome performance just to fall for Norwich 4-1 in the 4th round

Player of the season
1st - Gaston fernandez
Like The team as a whole Fernandez only went better this season. Less goals but top of the Goals and Assists leauge is an amazing record for anyone. Surley he'll be good enough for the Premiership

View attachment 60088

2nd - Francisco Coda
17 year old super signing. I Knew i was getting a star of tommorow when i splashed £3m on him but i never expected him to return my faith in him with 26 goals and 14 assists in his debut season with the club

View attachment 60089

3rd - Sergio Almiron
Was my top signing of the season for the squad. Getting someone from Juventus is an amazing capture for southampton and he immediatly slotted into the center of the midfield and he will ge the chance to lead us into the permiership next season

View attachment 60090

Season overview - Cant have any complaints about a second successive championship in dominant circumstances. A third Leauge title might be a good few years down the line but we will see what we can do to build on our success

View attachment 60091

Coca Cola Championship - Winners
FA Cup - 4th Round
Carling Leauge Cup - 1st Round

How did the new players get on?

Southampton Legend Matt Le Tissier Gives us his views on Southamptons new signings that helped them make there long awaited return to the premiership

Danny Lanzafame - Made a decent impact in his half season in southampton. Didnt do anything wrong except get injured and give youngster Zinga a chance in the 1st team

Levan McHedlidze - Having made a good start but spent most of his season on the injury table means he will probably leave on loan if not permantly

Sergio Almiron - A solid enough performance but will he be up to the premiership we will have to wait and see

Jean Alain Boumsong - Only scraped a 7.01 and not the fantastic signing i thought it would be. Was totally outshone by his fellow center back Mareco

Marco Storari - 17 clean sheets is a very acceptable return for a team who tends to focus on all out attack. Will be 34 in July so might just squeeze another season out of him

Another promotion netted us a a Massive transfer Budget from the board of £52 million so i decided to use it to boost the quality in each position. This season im going for a mid table finish. With the quality of players i've brought in should be enough to at least keep me in the division

Season Targets 2011/2012 - My aim is to stay in the Premiership that is my only must do this season. Would like a good run in one of the cups as well

Premiership - 10-17th
Fa Cup - 5th round
Carling Cup - Quarter finals

Main signings
Abel Aguilar - A freebie who has came in origionally for back up but his pre season form has put him into the first team

View attachment 60109

Adam Johnson - Was for sale at £3.6m And it was a deal i couldnt turn down, even if he's half as good here as he is in real life

View attachment 60110

Javi Garcia - The Benfica Midfelder was unhappy at not getting in the 1st team so i was happy to take them off there hands
View attachment 60111

Pedro Leon - A old Favourite who again wasnt happy and being available at £5.75m was another deal i couldnt look away from

View attachment 60112

Andreas Beck - On of my Favourite Wing backs. With Hutton on the right i'll have to put him on hte left for the first season at least

View attachment 60113

Neslson Rivas- Have always liked Rivas and after Boumsong's exit he was my 2nd choice behind David Luiz, who wasnt intersted in Soton

View attachment 60114

Vagner Love -Had to pay well over the odds for Vagner but if he can get 20 goals this season i wont mind the £23m fee i had to pay

View attachment 60115

Main Player sales

M Storari - A star last year but he wanted to go back to ITaly after deciding he was home sick and my young keeper is almost as good as him so this is a big year for him

J Boumsong - Having failed to impress me at all in his first season decided he would be a let down in the top flight

S Cherundolo - With Hutton available at £2.5m And Cherundolo's contract expired there was no resons to renew it

L Mchedlidze - A first season spent injured most of the time was not a good advert for me keeping him for the premiership. Decided to keep my young italians who impressed last season

S Almiron - Almiron was the hardest player to sell but the chance to mak a £3.7m profit on a 30 year old was too good a offer to turn down

View attachment 60108

Just read this mate, nice story. Good luck in the Prem, i'll follow from now!

Newcastle 2-2 Southampton
Fernandez, Coda
Came back from a goal down twice to secure a point on our premiership return

Southampton 3-2 Fulham
Fernandez, Love 2
Again we had to come from behind and this time we got the 3 points as we took control after fulham went down to 10 men

Blackburn 2-3 Southampton
Fernandez 2, Lallana
7 points from the first 3 games is a great hawl of points even if we havent played any of the top teams yet a good start is massivly importaint

Colchester 1-3 Southampton - Leauge cup 2nd round
Schniederlin 2, Coda
Progression was never in serious doubt but Caceres got a pointless red card at the end of the game to dampen our spirtits slightly

Southampton 2-2 Liverpool
Vagner Love 2
Almost caused a huge upset here but even with just 10 men livepool had what it took to get level towards the end as we drop points for only the second time this season

August Month review - A great return to the premiership as we sit up in 2nd place and are unbeaten and got a result against top 5 team liverpool

View attachment 60169

Player of the month - Fernandez, How the **** do you stop this guy. Thought we'd have some problems with Fernandez up front and that the premiership might be beyond his skills. 4 goals in 3 starts suggests otherwise

View attachment 60168

And just when you wonder how it can get any better Mr Liebherr comes along and Casually puts a extra £50m into the club. Only boost the available transfers up to £12m and i think i'll leave that for January and see what i need then

View attachment 60167

West Ham 3-0 Southampton
A harsh hint of reality, easyily beaten, 2 players carried off and another sent off. Our worst game of the season

Southampton 2-2 Sunderland - Leauge cup 3rd round
Leon, Vagner
Sunderland win 5-4 on pens
Should have won this game with Sunderland playing most of the second half and extra time but we couldnt get all 3 goals back

Southampton 0-2 Man Utd
Man Utd were just too strong for us today we couldnt break down there defence and that led to back to back defeats in the leauge

Aston Villa 4-1 Southampton
Vagner Love
Last game of a very dissapointing month. were outpowered again by a premiership powerforce and werent helped by Caceres being sent off again

September month review - Very dissapointing month where we didnt look like a team that will be breaking the top 10 this season and avoiding a religation will be an achievment

View attachment 60186

Player of the month - Vagner Love was the only player who offered any glimer of hope in the past month hopfully he can lead us back up the table in october

View attachment 60185

Good luck. I got to the Premiership with Southampton and in my 2nd season in the Prem with them.

Hull 2-2 Southampton
Johnson, Coda
A battling draw today as we suffer a few more injurys and the squad seemed quite tired after the match

Southampton 1-0 Tottenham
Leon
Another daft red card was a big blow at 0-0 but Pedro Leon scored what turned out to be the winner with 10 minutes to go and with that we parked the Inter styled Bus

Sunderland 3-1 Southampton
Love
Leauge leaders Southampton were always in control here although 3-1 might flatter them slightly as my southampton team put up a solid fight

October month review - Were quite lucky to beat spurs, unlucky not to beat hull and werent good enough agaisnt sunderland. Plenty of changes still needed before we are ready to challange for the european places

Player of the month - Nobody stands out
