Club History

Founded in 1897, Juventus are a professional Football Club who play in the top flight of Italian Football, the Serie A. They are the most successful Italian club of all time having won 33 Italian titles. Juventus have been home to some of the most Legendary players from over the past century, the likes of Alessandro Del Piero, Pavel Nedved, Michel Platini and Zinedine Zidane.

Back in 2006, Juventus were banished down to the Serie B along with a 30 point deduction after being found guilty of match fixing at a Sporting Tribunal that was set-up by the Italian Federation. Lazio, Fiorentina and A.C. Milan were also found guilty and punished, but none faced a bigger punishment than the Bianconeri, although promotion to the top flight was once again secured in the same year.

The Club known as the 'Bianconeri' currently play their home Football at the Juventus Stadium, a 41,000 capacity stadium that was built back in 2011. This stadium is an all-seated stadium, one that has been built to last and will more than likely be expanded over the next century, the home of Juventus.

The Trophy Cabinet

Looking at the clubs trophy cabinet it's not hard to see why Juventus are regarded as one of, if not the most successful club in the history of Italian Football.

Domestically, 33 top flight titles along with 11 Copa Italia's and 8 super-cup triumphs, a huge haul from the Bianconeri throughout their history. No side has won more titles than Juventus.

However the Turin club have also shown their dominance in the European scene having won 2 UEFA Champions Leagues along with 3 Europa Leagues among a selection of European silverware.

Juventus' most recent triumph in European Football came back in 1996 when they beat Ajax in the UEFA Champions League Final..A long spell without a non-domestic trophy that has now been extended to 23 years.

Over the past half decade Juventus have won the Serie A 3 times but have gone down hill in the past 2 years, having finished as Runners-Up in consecutive years to Genoa and AS Roma.

(This seasons' runners-up isn't on the list yet)

Other Information

Torino are Juventus' most fierce rivals, the two teams participate in the Turin Derby, this is Juventus' only local derby whereas the rest of the clubs have rivalries through competition and history.

Youth Development

db74555450463fa63a555f39ec630308.png

Throughout the past few years Juventus have looked to develop players from their academy as opposed to signing youngsters from around the World. The Serie-A doesn't offer the most money and so a lot of teams in this league are unable to afford stars from the modern age and so they must look to develop the next set of players. Something I'm keen to employ here at Juventus.

The likes of Daniele Rugani, Ivan Juric, Pogba..They've all flourished at Juventus.

c33bcb248b64db50ca84a4965401db17.png

Juventus have brilliant facilities which are among the best in the league, I'm hoping to get the most out of these facilities by developing the next set of 'Bianconeri' heroes.

With that being said, let's crack on with life at Juventus. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I will!

Just seen this story for the first time. Absolutely love it. Surprises all along the way!

Love seeing the development of your presentation as the story grew, really nice to see.

And great pick on Juve. Good to see a move abroad. Tear up Serie A! Undefeated season on the cards?

Thanks for the comment man, glad you like it so far!

I always try and switch the layout up a bit, sometimes it's formal and sometimes it's brief and I also switch between the 1st and 3rd person, just to keep people interested! (I'm also quite OCD and fussy about how things are presented...)

Definitely a lot of surprises so far, mostly unplanned but it seems to be going well still! Not sure I can go unbeaten in Serie A just yet, maybe in a couple of season time! I played as Juventus on a journeyman save last year and had a ton of fun, couldn't resist joining them again. :D

Short term aim is to reclaim the league and cup but hopefully long term I can go one further and win a European trophy, yet to win a trophy on FM this year! :(

I feel your pain. Presentation layout brings out the inner-most OCD tendencies from deep within me.

So What's the Squad Like?

c412e4f89c263a760aa4f4359f33cac8.png

Apologies if the picture is difficult to read!

I've arrived at Juventus to a side who recently finished 2nd in the league, and in a way I understand why. Initial thoughts from my first look at the squad are that we have a very attack minded squad here, lots of creative offensive minded players which maybe leaves us a little exposed at the back..Chiellini's contract is expiring and I'm hesitant to offer him a new one, after all this is the start of a new dawn here in Turin.

Tevez is 35 now but still seems capable of being a star player, he's also a wonderful mentor for the likes of Luka Jovic and Kenneth de Jager. We have good central midfielders as well in Paul Pogba, Rafinha and Arturo Vidal but our wide positions look a bit sparse..

What do you think of the squad? Where would you improve? I'm undecided on a formation/tactic so far so it's difficult to know who to sell and who to bring in, but I've got plenty of versatile players at hand.

A goalkeeper is also a needed position.

Key Players

Paul Pogba - Central Midfielder

a01719545eef9b647da29ea721a8f1d8.png

I've arrived at the perfect time in terms of Paul Pogba's career, he's always been a wonderfully talented player but he's now at the age of 26..The start of his peak, keeping hold of him will be the tricky part but if we do so we truly have one of the Worlds best midfielders at our disposal. His ball-winning will be vital as we look to build attacks and keep possession but his ability going forward also gives us an offensive edge.

Kenneth de Jager - Striker

I don't know much about this lad, other than the fact that he cost a whopping £36.5m from Benfica last season. With Tevez nearing the end of his career, de Jager looks to be a capable replacement as he already has some fantastic attributes. He's extremely quick, skillful and capable of finishing and I can't wait to see him at work this season.

Jeison Murillo - Central Defender

0258ab77866792c2084c5becaed9959c.png

With Chiellini looking set to leave us Murillo is going to be one of our most important players in our back-line, the Colombian international looks to be a brilliant player and can hopefully help keep plenty of clean sheets in the coming season.

Kevin de Bruyne - Attacking Midfielder

b9b4e17c22031504e7ad4f13b4752754.png

De Bruyne is a brilliant player, I have no doubt in that. With Pogba and Vidal more focused on winning back and keeping possession it's going to be down to de Bruyne to make use of that possession and unlocking the oppositions defence. The Belgian proved his worth here last season with 11 goals and 20 assists and I'm hoping to see plenty of the same this season.

There are plenty more key players at the club, I simply picked a couple of players to show you based on my first look at the squad.

Hey pal, recently caught up on your entire story over the last couple of days and it’s fantastic! I’m a big fan of Brendn’s Liverpool story but am guilty of being a ‘silent reader’ on most stories.

Your attention to detail and the layout is great and it’s a really interesting read. Think you’ve made a brilliant move in Juventus, the squad is brimming with talent and hopefully you can win a trophy or 2 this season. I’m no tactical genius but with plenty of versatile players in the squad you could switch between 4-5-1, 4-2-3-1 or 4-1-2-1-2. Another CB and a couple of wide players and you could easily get the title this year!

Good luck :D

Great to see you move abroad, and to such a big club, hopefully you can pick up your first trophies while in turin,
I defo think the squad needs a rework, a fair few players getting towards or past 30, it seems to be common in italian football.
Good luck holding onto pogba, and good luck for your first season, lets hope they stick with you unlike spurs

Hey man, thanks for the kind words! Definitely looking at bringing some players in but it's easier said than done..I've been struggling to find players, haha!

Hopefully will be an update within the day to show off any signings. :)

Definitely, Juventus seem to have a bog standard Italian side where the players are more experienced as opposed to young and exciting, but I'm looking to change that! Hoping to win some trophies! :D

14 years as a Juventus player but I've come to the decision that I'm not going to renew Chiellini's contract, he's 34 now..His attributes have decreased and he's still asking for over £100,000 a week which I don't feel his contribution deserves. My first move may upset the fans a bit but hopefully they can move past it when we're winning trophies. Maybe Giorgio will return as a coach one day?

Good move id say,
Maybe keep an eye on him incase he doesnt get a new club, he may lower his terms to a more sensible level.

Transfers In (So far)
d32f35d467ab0d1b52488594a6995006.png

A lot of money spent bringing in some new players, but I believe the signings we've made will help us to be a better team. Something I said we lacked strength in was defence and the wide midfield areas, and although I haven't signed many wingers, I'll explain that to you later.

Michael Bradley - Free Agent

c8e2f29c4d0b92a41c2567281e014271.png

Michael Bradley has been brought in due to his consistency in the ball winning department, currently we have a lot of play-makers but only Arturo Vidal when it comes to winning possession back and although he's 31, I believe Michael Bradley can provide much needed back-up to Vidal throughout the season.

Theo Bongonda - Free Agent

38bb49e09ce4f58f90896a73222d15d6.png

This was more of a 'why not?' kind of signing, Theo isn't really good enough to play in the first-team at the moment but he has a bit of potential and as a free-signing I couldn't really complain. He may prove to be a valuable impact sub due to his pace and dribbling but we'll have to see.

José Luis Gayá - £8.25m from Valencia

395f9ab210c884450cbeeee0bd64f4e7.png

Our previous cover at left-back was Marcos Alonso, a player who I didn't really deem good enough to be sporting a Juventus jersey and so I decided to move him on, Gayá on the other hand is a brilliant player and someone I've been trying to sign for the past few years. I have no doubts he'll be able to play well when needed and can certainly provide competition for our Swiss left-back.

Márcio Belmonte - £13.25m from Internacional

61fe5703f3661faad29c640ab24d7ad0.png

I noticed Belmonte while scouting through the Brazilian league, he had a wonderful season with Internacional last term and has some wonderful attributes for a player only worth £13.25m, we've also looked to be lacking a strong defensive midfielder so I'm hoping Márcio can step-up to the plate and help to bolster out defence.

Stefano Denswil - £4.5m from PSG

6f23dbaa9b24af45b95f003f175358d9.png

A cheap signing this one but a good one nonetheless, Stefano is a very capable central defender and I have no doubts that he can do a job for us when called upon, especially with our current defence beginning to age. I'm very happy with this signing.

Balde Keita - £23m from Chelsea

f21478bb03f52ec8b259db6c0c5863fe.png

Our biggest signing of the window and somewhat of a Marquee signing. Balde Keita is a winger who possesses great quality but never really got his chance at Chelsea having been so prolific for Lazio in the past. I'm delighted to bring in a winger as good as Keita as the wings are another area I looked to strengthen and £23m is if anything a bargain for such a talented player. He also has home-grown status, another bonus!

Niklas Suele - £20m from Wolfsburg

8d9425fa5ba7c5d244628de74a2d46c4.png

Another expensive signing for a central defender, with Bonucci getting older and Chiellini having left I figured it was a suitable time to start rebuilding the defence for future years and Denswil, Suele and Murillo certainly look set to be our new defensive trio going forwards.

In total £69,000,000 was spent on bringing these players to the club, a lot of money indeed.

Transfers Out (So far)
3ef045f33c5fe95b3a92558c26cda0e6.png

No major deals as we offloaded a few of our players..Only £21.5m brought in but it looks as though we're set to keep Pogba and Vidal at the club which is excellent news for us, these players are going to be pivotal as we look to make the next step.

Douglas left to Everton, he's a 31 year old central defender who didn't really possess much quality and with our younger players coming in I figured it was best to let him move on, although we did actually get a decent amount for him.

I mentioned on the Gayá explanation that I didn't feel Marcos Alonso was good enough to cover Rodriguez at left-back so he's also left for a cheap price..I think I made the right call there.

Now, Firmino, Herrera and Pereyra are all outstanding players and ones that I would definitely have kept at the club but for one reason..We just have too many play-makers in central midfield! Pogba, Marchisio, Rafinha, De Bruyne and the 3 who were sold, it's just too much..Especially for the tactic I intend to employ so that's the reasoning behind these sales.

What do you think of the transfer business?

Gaya is a great signing. When I was at Valencia on my story I used kind of moulded him into a Bale like figure like spurs did, he become a great player on the left wing for me! He's versatile

Now..Onto the interesting part. A move to Juventus means I'm going to be playing a different style of Football which means I have to adapt. I've started setting up some tactics but they're far from complete and I'll certainly be making changes as time develops.

Most Italian teams opt for the 3 at the back formation but I'm not really sure about this system, I often feel that there's a lack of protection in wide areas so I've opted to stick with 4 at the back, but with a little bit of a twist.

Formation 1: 4-1-2-3 DM Wide Asymmetric

6c8ed37ddc2c46fcc452378260b2edd0.png

I mentioned before about our lack of quality wingers down the right side so I've decided to try and create a lopsided formation to allow compensation for the lack of wide-play. Janmaat will be more responsible for attacking the right side while Pogba or De Bruyne may move into the channels as well to try and provide a bit of width. De Jager also helps compensate for the massive area of space which also allows for Balde Keita to cut inside or for De Bruyne to attack the space to the left of the striker.

ea13d974f880b125ae36946d08d83499.png

The aim is obviously to control the game but also to attack the opposition, we're the strongest team in Italy after all! Playing Wider will allow us to compensate for the lack of width and the 5 line formation prevents gaps from appearing in the middle, changes are still being made but feel free to offer advice if you have any. (I'm no tactical genius...)

My other tactics are still in the 'development' process so I'm not going to show you those just yet, but look out in the near future for updates on those!

Gaya is a great signing. When I was at Valencia on my story I used kind of moulded him into a Bale like figure like spurs did, he become a great player on the left wing for me! He's versatile

He looked good for you! I was surprised when I saw that they only wanted between £7-10m for him as he's such a good player, hopefully he can do well for me! I mean Rodriguez is quality as well so we're definitely not short of options down that side. :D

Having completed the majority of my transfers for the coming season we now approach the first of our pre-season Friendlies, for the majority of the exhibition matches we will be taking on 3 Dutch teams as part of our pre-season tour of the Netherlands. A great place to bond, gel and hopefully up our fitness.

e08529beff8c8d31ba2194193fb21b35.png

Our tour of Holland will see us take on FC Oss, VVSB and Rijnsburgse Boys before we return to Italy to take on Cesena, although the results aren't important it would be nice to see us start in a positive manner as we look to reclaim what is rightfully ours, Italian dominance.

4a783a14e27dec9a7c6466b83d04c8f7.png

The players have been working hard in training so far ahead of the tour, Vidal has done what I thought he would and has led by example..He's one of the more senior players now and someone that the younger players look up to. His influence both on and off the pitch is extremely important to this club and I'm delighted that he's been so welcoming to our new lads.

Some great signings there, Sule, Keita and Gaya will defintely improve your squad. Sule is fantastic, have him as Captain on my 2014 Hoffenheim save and he's amazing! Shame you couldn't get more for the outgoing players but equally you don't want a massive squad so they had to go.

Should be a good season! Again loving the write up/layout :D
