Our pre-season tour of Holland was a romping success, 10 goals scored in the 3 games and not a single goal conceded. The players are bonding well and the new system is working wonders for us and although we haven't faced a top side yet we've still made sure complacency doesn't play a part in our game.

The player of the pre-season was definitely Kenneth de Jager who found the net 6 times in the 5 matches, although he has now suffered a sprained ankle and is likely to miss our Serie A opener.

Belgian playmaker Kevin de Bruyne also scored 4 in 6 to show his form, an important player and hopefully someone who can lead us to glory this season.

September Fixtures

Here's a look at our fixtures for September, we open the season against Reggina at the Juventus Stadium but we also have tough games against Lazio and 2018 Serie A winners Genoa. Hopefully we can crack on and get some good results, we need something we can build on.

The Champions League draw will also take place after our opener.

Sampdoria win Super-Cup

Serie-A Champions Sampdoria today lifted the Italian Super-Cup following a 4-3 victory over Napoli at the Olimpico. Sinia Mihajlovic's men were in superb form as they overcame Napoli in extra-time to lift their first silverware of the season in what was an entertaining contest for Football fans all over the World.

Despite former Arsenal man Olivier Giroud scoring in the 114th minute the game was far from done as Vitaly Mylnikov equalised two minutes later to give the Partenopei a late equaliser, however Ivan Capra scored in dramatic fashion 1 minute from time to secure the victory for Sampdoria, the end result..4-3.

With the Super-Cup now having been won, supporters can look forward to the start of the league campaign which takes place next Saturday.

Winning Start for Clement

Paul Clement began life in Turin with a 3-0 victory over Reggina at the Juventus Stadium, the Serie-A runners up looked unstoppable as they brushed aside the newly promoted side with ease.

Chilean Midfielder Arturo Vidal opened the scoring after 10 minutes when he cut inside from left to right before curling the ball into the bottom right hand corner, just out of reach for the Reggina goalkeeper.

Carlos Tevez doubled the hosts advantage after 20 minutes when he poked the ball home from 6 yards following Balde Keita's parried shot, a great piece of anticipation from the veteran striker as he reacted first to beat Reggina's defenders to the ball.

The rout was complete after 69 minutes when Jeison Murillo leaped like a sammon to nod home Vidal's corner from the left hand side, a brilliant header from the Colombian as he guided the ball into the far corner.

All in all a comfortable win for the home-side.

Paul Clement will be delighted to have won in his first game as Manager of Juventus, Clement's signings and philosophy worked well as the Bianconeri very much dominated their opponents on the day, is this a sign of things to come?

Champions League Group Stage Draw 2019/20

Group H...

6e04024f87baf08b5039a4064e59accd.png

Luckily for us we were seeded as a 1st seed team meaning I was able to avoid the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid etc. and was handed a nice group in the end. We've been drawn against Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg, Ukrainian side Dynamo Kyiv and Belorussian team BATE Borisov, a somewhat eastern European group!

Zenit was a good draw, we avoided lots of tough 2nd seed teams such as Dortmund, PSG and Monaco and although Zenit are a tough team to play, I definitely favour our chances of coming out on top.

Dynamo Kyiv and BATE could go either way, I'd expect Kyiv to finish in the top 3 but they could cause an upset along with BATE..We certainly won't underestimate our opponents but with expectations of reaching the Quarter-Finals an elimination from this group would be embarrassing for myself.

94d02f75fe657f8e2268d7ab67993099.png

We begin the group with the toughest game possible, an away trip to Russia..A win there and we'll be in the driving seat but a loss could make things interesting, I'm both excited and confident!

Juventus Lucky in Away Win

The title says it all..We were lucky in this game and it could have been a lot more comfortable for us. We dominated possession which is pleasing to see but we sometimes looked a bit liable at the back, mainly due to the high back-line..Long balls over the top of our defence were carving us open.

We took the lead after 30 minutes when former Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette latched onto De Bruyne's pass before sliding the ball under the oncoming Scuffet in the Udinese goal, a lovely finish from our Striker who has played well in the absence of de Jager.

Within 5 minutes we were given a penalty after Ricardo Rodriguez was taken down from behind inside the box, but Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal was unable to double our advantage as his penalty was blasted past the post, a poor effort from our key penalty taker.

The penalty miss was Vidal's first since his Champions League penalty miss against Greek side Olympiakos back in 2014.

Luckily we were handed a boost when Kevin de Bruyne was chopped down as he attempted to dart into the Udinese box, another penalty was given but this time the Chilean midfielder opted out of taking the penalty. This proved to be a wise decision as Lacazette grabbed his 2nd of the game when he sent Simone Scuffet the wrong way, a beautiful penalty by the Frenchman.

Udinese claimed a goal back following a long throw, Milan Milanovic rose high to glance the ball past Keylor Navas which to be honest was a very frustrating and pathetic goal to concede..We need to be better in the future.

Things almost got worse 3 minutes from time when Fabio Borini's desparate chipped ball was met by Assombalonga who once again beat our high-line but his effort was tipped onto the post by our Chilean shot-stopper..We were lucky to come away with 3 points.

Alexandre Lacazette looked unplayable today, he was unlucky not to get his hat-trick but he's certainly caught my eye..De Jager better watch out, the #9 spot is up for grabs!

Not sure how we drew this game, we absolutely dominated the game and created numerous chances but were unable to find the net. Palermo didn't threaten our goal at all and I have to be disappointed with this result...It's 2 dropped points.

We'll have to lift our heads now for our away trip to Russia, hopefully we can bounce back and pick up the 3 points.

Villainous Verona!

A better performance here as we beat Verona easily, goals coming from Paul Pogba, Kevin De Bruyne and Kenneth de Jager. We controlled the game and looked dominant throughout the 90 minutes, similar to our last match but this time we looked clinical in front of the net.

Paul Pogba opened the scoring in the first minute when he rifled the ball into the bottom right hand corner from 30 yards out, a fantastic shot from the Frenchman and a great way to start the game.

De Bruyne double the advantage on 17 minutes when his free-kick curled round the wall into the top left hand corner, a lovely free-kick from our star play-maker as we took a comfortable lead in this game.

Kenneth de Jager got on the score sheet when he headed home Arturo Vidal's cross, a lovely header that glided into the inside of the side netting, 3-0 and we were looking ruthless.

Verona pulled one back through Pektemek when the ball broke to him on the edge of the box, a lovely effort from the Turkish striker as he slid the ball under Keylor Navas to make it 3-1.

However a quickfire double from De Bruyne and de Jager put us way out of sight, a lovely period of play and a great result from the game.

Paul Pogba's 30 second goal was vital for Juventus, they never looked like losing from there on.

Not much I can say about this game, it was a game I feel we needed to win but despite having 29 shots and the majority of possession we failed to make it count in the final third, this is our second goalless draw at home and while I'm glad we're not conceding I'm disappointed that we're not scoring. These draws could come back to haunt us come July.

A tough fought contest which we should have won, but we end up being disappointed.

A brilliant bounce back result as we beat the 2017/18 Serie A Champions 4-1 at the Stadion Luigi Ferrais, we looked much more dangerous in front of goal in this game and controlled the ball with a lot of patience and probed at the Genoa defence.

Serbian forward Luka Jovic opened the scoring after half an hour when his low shot cannoned off the post before nestling into the bottom corner of the net, a lovely finish from the stand-in attacker.

Our lead was doubled after 55 minutes when Michael Bradley's long range effort rifled into the top right hand corner, Bradley picked the ball up from Pogba 30 yards out before side-stepping his opponent and firing the ball high into the back of the net.

A quick surge of goals saw us go 4-0 up with goals from Jeison Murillo and Kenneth de Jager before former Spurs winger Erik Lamela equalised for the home side, a blitz of goals and plenty of entertainment for the fans as we took the 4-1 victory. A much needed win!

A tough game against the former Serie A champions but I'm delighted that we've been able to dominate Genoa inside their own ground. A class performance!

Kicking Things off in the UCL

I somehow managed to miss out the Zenit game in my updates..(It followed the Palermo game), so instead I'll do a double UEFA Champions League Update in one.

We began the group stages with the toughest game out of the 6, an away trip to Russia to face Russian champions Zenit St. Petersburg, we were pushed to the test but ultimately we came out on top with a 2-1 victory against the Russian outfit.

Brazilian veteran Hulk opened the scoring after 31 minutes when he received the ball from Ewerton on the edge of the box before blasting the ball past Keylor Navas from 12 yards out, an extremely powerful shot from the Brazilian forward!

However within 10 minutes we'd equalised from the spot following a foul on Paul Pogba inside the area from Veltman, a clear foul as the Frenchman had his ankles tapped as he surged into the Zenit penalty area. Kenneth de Jager made no mistake from the spot as he sent the Keeper the wrong way, we were back in it!

Straight after half-time we took the lead when Spanish wide-man Balde Keita cut inside from the left before curling the ball round the Zenit shot-stopper, a fine finish from the former Chelsea man as we held out for the 3 points, a massive win to start the group stages!

Our second game was much more comfortable, a 4-1 victory over Belorussian side BATE Borisov at the Juventus Stadium..My first European game at the Juventus kicking ground and boy was the atmosphere amazing, fans were singing, cheering, dancing..The game had everything and I'm sure this motivated the players to win this match.

Igor Semenov saw red after only 8 minutes for Borisov, a massive blow for them but when you go down to 10 men that early, you just have no chance...

However it took us 56 minutes to open the scoring, Luka Jovic getting the first with a beautifully curled finish that followed a zigzagging run into the box, breezing past the Belorussian defenders..Jovic certainly looks the part this year.

Kevin De Bruyne then bagged a brace as we took a 3-0 lead, two beautifully worked goals from the Belgian international as he proved how influential he can be from the middle of the park.

Alexandr Myats pulled back a consolation for the visitors before Alexandre Lacazette sealed the game with a 93rd minute goal, a cool finish as he slid the ball under the Borisov goalkeeper. An easy victory and a great performance.

The atmosphere inside the ground was amazing, hopefully my first of many in charge of Juventus.

The First Month

Results

An impressive start to life in Turin, a couple of frustrating home draws but overall we've looked good, especially considering the new tactics and players I've employed here at the club. Defence is always my main priority and having only conceded 4 in 6 games I'm extremely pleased, hopefully we can build on this month and push on to bigger and better things.

Table(s)

b433b8be938f3ad6479cf342456e56e2.png

Currently we're sitting in 3rd after 6 matches, but with a home tie against A.C. Milan coming up next we could soon be back at the top, it's early days though so I'm not going to get hung up about our start, it's all about how well we do from here onwards.

f28eef90ef9d7f631496dba404b1df94.png

After 2 matches we sit top of our Champions League group level on points with Dynamo Kyiv, shocking from Zenit so far but we already look on course for qualification. Just need to push on and win the group now.

October Fixtures

ec5d4ec1e491c9adb10a787ac1135463.png

Some big games coming up in October, ties against Milan and Fiorentina are vital as we push on in the league but with us and Kyiv on 6 points in the UCL our home tie against them is also a big one. Hopefully we can pick up some momentum in October.

The First Major Test...

de5c31bf736756c299c8350f9f9364e6.png

The first major test of the season as we took on A.C. Milan at the Juventus Stadium and with us now sitting 2 points behind Milan we knew that a defeat here could be catastrophic in our bid to win the Serie A.

This was an exciting match, very end-to-end with both teams creating chances, we had the majority of possession but the end to end football made it tough for us defensively, but ultimately we got the 3-2 win which is extremely pleasing.

Milan opened the scoring after 3 minutes when former Torino man Ciro Immobile picked up the ball inside the box before swivelling and firing the ball past Navas to give the visitors the lead. First blood.

Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne levelled for us after 14 minutes when he played a one-two with Paul Pogba in midfield before driving his shot low under the Milan shot-stopper, a clinical finish and a much needed goal.

41 minutes in we took the lead when French attacker Alexandre Lacazette rose high to nod home Daryl Janmaats cross by glancing the ball back from where it came, a brilliant header by the striker.

Andre Ayew made it 3-1 5 minutes from time when he cut inside from the left hand side before rifling the ball into the bottom right hand corner, a lovely finish from the man who finds himself on the transfer list, he's certainly got a point to prove and this isn't a bad way to start doing just that.

Chilean international Bryan Rabello pulled back a late goal for the visitors in the 92nd minute when he broke past Murillo before chipping theball over Keylor Navas, a great finish from the playmaker but ultimately it was too late for the visitors as we secured the 3-2 win. Huge result!

Delighted with this result, my first big game as a manager in Italy and it's fair to say I thoroughly enjoyed it, I can't wait for more big games!

I did think about it for a long time...But Navas has some decent ability and I've got a young goalkeeper with a bit of potential, gonna see how we're doing in January before I think of bringing in a new keeper. :D

Appreciate the feedback, man. :)

Good start to your Juventus career! They've ended up in 12th on mine! But somehow are in the Champions League semi final!

My God this is some story :). Pretty amazed you didn't win a major trophy in England, but surely with Juve you can challenge for the trophies!

Took me a while to read up with all this, but hey I'm here to stay and read AND comment ;). Keep it up!

Haha I've never had much luck at winning trophies in England, but at least now I can possibly return one day and win a few! Thanks for the feedback buddy, appreciate it. :)
