Andy Carroll: I Was Not Wanted.

Its Bull mate!

all he had to say was "im not joing you liverpool"

and that would of been the end of it....simples! :)

Either way, its gonna drag. Be a case of "he said", then "no, actually he said"....bickering for a while. He's gone now. Just support your team and get behind them because it could be a long second half of the season now.

I agree ajt09!

all we can do is focus on the rest of the season, and just hope we survive...AND re-invest in the summer! :)

At the end of the day it's a lot of money for someone who has barely proved themselves at this level. Yeah he's been good this season but 'proving yourself' can't be achieved in under a whole season. It's a good deal for Newcastle and if they manage to stay up, they can try and use that money to good use and bring in a few top players.

lets all just hope ashley lets us have the money in the summer.....i'd hate to see the incredible disapperaing act of 35 million pound....

Keep away from aspers casino mike!! ;)

Exactly. I'd push him out the door for 15m to be honest haha.

If I'm honest Liverpool have been ripped off. I know they made the offer, Newcastle didn't ask for that money and Carroll is a good player, there's no denying that BUT..... is he £35m player? Is he the best BRITISH player in history. I know they play different positions but is he really worth more than Rio Ferdinand? I'd have to say no! As I have said, he is a good player, you don't score 11 goals in the Prem without being good but I really don't think he's worth the money Liverpool offered.

Newcastle SHOULD be ok this season, I would expect them to stay up with the strong position they hold at the moment. They have proven that they can still play well without him and as much as it can seem it they can come across as a 1 man team but I know they are not. It's just that with his height and strength he scares the defenders and can open the play up for people like Nolan and Barton to get on the end of his knock downs!

Finally good luck to Newcastle, I'm sure you won't need it and I hope we don't meet you next season!

Really you'd push your top scorer out of the door for £15m? Where exactly are Newcastle's goals going to come from? Best? Ameobi? Lovenkrands? Ranger? Maybe they'll try Smith up front again ;) - Btw I think between those four they have like 7 league goals.. Newcastle really haven't got a great deal out of this.

Is he that ****** off about having to move to Liverpool? If I were a 'Pool fan, I'd be annoyed.

You're wanted here Andy!!

You and Luis could well be the start of something special.

What, you think they could have gotten 50 million out of him? Every player has his price, and just about everyone agrees that 35 million was way too much. Newcastle can seriously upgrade their squad next season with that kind of money.

I agree with all of your post to be honest, however the financial values of players has changed a lot since Rio Ferdinands big money move to United. In this footballing financial climate, if Ferdinand was to be bought again now I'd say he'd be valued around £40m. A lot has changed since then with clubs like Man City spending ridiculous money like £25m on Adebayor. Absolute flop and is now out on loan.

It will probably get worse aswell, and prices will keep rising and rising. But yeah, Carroll has been over priced, but he's young and English - what do you expect?

Once again I agree with all of your post really, as the other strikers they have are pretty poor, although Leon Best didn't look too bad with his hat trick.

But I reckon Newcastle have got a very good deal. This deal will really help them whatever happens to them now.. if they go down they can use this to try and get back up, and if they stay up they can use it to establish themselves. I can't see them being relegated to be honest and I think they'll be fine without him, and have got a very nice sum of money.

Liverpool fans are actually defending the 35mill+ price tag. Shocking.

What he done to warrant that fee, nothing and even though the market is the way it is them paying anything over 20mill is disgustingly overpriced.

I agree that the football financial climate has changed but even putting the £40m price tag on Rio is Carroll really as good as Rio? It'll only be 5m less so your going to expect to be looking at 2 very close players and when you look at the fact Strikers cost more in general anyway I still have to say Liverpool have been ripped off but as you say mate, he's young and English, it's a shame things have got this way but I guess there's always a down side to everything

To be fair I've heard that its £35 million plus add ons for any trophies he wins whilst at the club, this will bring the deal to around £35 million.

I certainly am.

A: The fee was frankly ridiculous - a panic buy to placate the fans after the exit of Torres

B: We're not used to players actually being FORCED to come to L4 ( if Carroll is to be believed )

This transfer leaves a sour taste in the mouth.

I'm not defending it, I think we paid too much.

However what had Rooney done to warrant his £25 million move to united? He was a prospect, as Carroll is a prospect. It is a gamble (fingers crossed it'll pay off).

Liverpool winning trophies... ;)

Even it is not 35mill up front or whatever it is still horrifically over priced. Liverpool could maybe justify paying 20-23 but 30+ get off. He has done nothing to warrant this kind of transfer fee.

Fail on my behalf. /me

You've already tried that joke, it weren't funny then, and it isn't now.
