BaP: From Non-League to- uh, well, wherever the game takes you, I guess...

Why is Pedersens morale abysmal? Am I sensing a transfer?

I've gone forward a bit and he is on okay now, no concerns or any unhappyness. Might have been the final loss that was bugging him still!

Would you mind telling me where Doug Carmichael is getting played? CB or RB? I have a worrying feeling my players 175cm frame is getting played at centre which probably isn't the most ideal position and a major overlook on my part when deciding my positions at the start.

He's played as a RB almost without exception.

How's Sheahans loan spell panning out? Seemed like a big start but not much after

If you look at the starting screenshot, and what I wrote you will see that you started with:

15 in: Determination, Passing and Natural Fitness (which were the "great" attributes)
10 in: Composure, Decisions, Vision, Dribbling, First Touch, Technique, Acceleration and Balance ( these were your "good" attributes)

So you have got exactly the attributes you asked for. The problem is that I changed the Current Ability, which meant that some "random" attributes actually became higher than your chosen "good" ones :P

I don't think you should worry about being good, you're developing well!
Ah right I understand now! Sorry for the confusion.

The media don't know what they're talking about! Tom O'Neill is much better than Shane Long :P

Season 4 update
I've gone through the whole season, and will try to sum up major events, post player stats and achievements. The next update will be the transfer window + screenshots.

Performances:
- Jay Webster is looking too good for Nacional da Madeira. He had a very good season, breaking the club record for number of assists and MoM-displays.
- Hans Christian Pedersen is another player who will be looking to move on from a small Portugese side. He broke Belenenses scoring record both overall and in the league.
- Aidan Dickson moved on loan to Hull, and had a good year in the Championship, being touted as a contender for Young Player of the Year. He won Championship Young Player of the Month twice.
- Kenny Illtyd set a new Wales record, scoring 5 goals in one campaign. He had an up and down year with Southampton, but contributed to their famous Capital One Cup win over Liverpool, by scoring twice in the final in the 3-1 win.
- Stephen Gilliland became our first Barclays Young Player of the month, winning it in May 2018. The May award was especially exciting as Tommy Chong made 2nd, and Samwise Gamgee was 3rd. Gilliland had a great year on loan at Southampton from Newcastle, also starting in their Capital One Cup final win. Southampton came 7th in the table, whereas Newcastle came 14th.
- Samwise Gamgee was one of the true stars of the season, on loan at Aston Villa. He made team of the week 4 times for a surprising Aston Villa, who grabbed 4th, and a Champions League spot. Everton, who chose to let Samwise go on loan, ended 8th.
- Jamie Johnson has enjoyed his time in Greece, developing very well. He scored 16 goals in 20 starts for Olympiakos.
- Olof Breitling also had a year to remember, making the team of the month once for Fiorentina, as he made the CB-spot his own.

Awards:
- After a breakout season, Kenny Illtyd has been named as one of the favourites to win the European Golden Boy. However, it ends up going to Brazilian Robert, of Sporting CP.

Internationals:
- Kenny Illtyd was the pick of the bunch, impressing for Wales. He played 7 games, scoring 9 times. Including a Hat-trick in a friendly vs Malta, scoring a perfect 10.0.
- Daniel Sheahan made his debut for Ireland against Macedonia.
- It was, however, Tom O'Neill who stole the Irish headlines as he scored in his first 2 appearances for Ireland. Netting vs both Azerbadjan and Macedonia.
- Jamie Johnson made his debut for Ghana vs Argentina. He also scored his first international goal, in his second game vs Burundi.
- James Hall was another player to make his international debut, as he starred for Northern Ireland against Andorra.
- Denmark have not overlooked Hans Christian Pedersen, despite him hiding in Portugal, and gave him his international debut. Pedersen marked the occation by scoring 8 minutes into his first game vs Malta.
- Balint Boz also made the step up, making his debut for Hungary against Iceland.
- And finally,
we have our first England international! After a brilliant season for CL-qualifiers Aston Villa, Samwise Gamgee was called up to the senior England side. He came on as a sub vs Israel, to help England win 3-2.

Poor season for Daniel, well maybe bitter sweet, only 2 games at Palace, but first senior international cap, hope for a better loan spell next year

Season 4 World Cup Special

- Jay Webster impresses for Australia, scoring 1 and assisting one in a 4-0 win over "giants" Liechtenstein in the build-up to the FIFA World cup in Russia. Webster plays all 3 games as Australia beat Portugal, but get knocked out of the group stage.
- Surprisingly none of us youngsters are called up for Ireland, as they beat South-Korea 5-0, but are also knocked out at the group stage.
- Hungary make a surprise visit to the World Cup, but shockingly, Balint Boz is not called up. They draw 2 games and lose 1 to leave early.
- England are not at the 2018 World Cup, as they are knocked out in the playoffs by Portugal after coming 2nd in their group, 1 point behind Ukraine.

Group Stages
View attachment 248990- The enormous success of the World Cup is Danishman Hans Christian Pedersen. He scores the winner vs Sweden in the opening game, and comes in from the bench to score again vs Uruguay. Another sub-appearance in the 3rd group game is not enough for him to start the 2nd round game vs Cameroon, but Denmark go through.

In the quarter-finals, Pedersen again plays the role as the super sub. He comes on at half time, and scores in the 46th minute! It ends up being the winning goal against Ukraine, as Denmark reach the semi-finals!

In the semi-finals, Denmark crush Argentina 2-0. Pedersen comes on in the 62nd minute, scoring the opener 2 minutes later. What a development, Denmark are in the finals, where they face Mexico!

The teams start as follows:

Shockingly, still no room for Pedersen among the starting 11 for Denmark. Perhaps he is just best at coming off the bench to devastating effect?
5th minute: Mexico are on the attack and a dangerous cross hits right-back Peter Ankersen on the shin. It's deflected into his own net! Denmark 0 - 1 Mexico
45th minute:
Denmark have picked up the pace, but struggle to create chances. The teams go into the break at Denmark 0 - 1 Mexico
50th minute:
Corner for Mexico. Blackburn's CB, Diego Reyes, doubles Mexico's lead with a powerful header. Denmark 0 - 2 Mexico
50th minute:
Denmark manager Bernd Schuster takes action. He takes off a disappointing Simon Makienok and brings on Hans Christian Pedersen.
56th minute: Surely not! A perfect through pass from Eriksen finds the super-sub Pedersen, who makes no mistake. It's back on! Denmark 1 - 2 Mexico
61st minute:
PSG-star Christian Eriksen shows why he is paid £165K/week! Curls a free kick perfectly into the top corner. It's all square! Denmark 2 - 2 Mexico.
90th minute:
No one can break the deadlock. It's time for extra time!
103rd minute: Real Sociedad's Erik Sviachenko with a clumsy challenge, especially when he is already on a yellow card! The ref sends him off, and Denmark are down to 10 men.Denmark 2 - 2 Mexico
115th minute:
We're heading for penalties, but Denmark want it more. On the counter, Eriksen takes on 3 players on his own, beating them all and rolling the ball coolly past Ochoa. Surely it's all over! Denmark 3 - 2 Mexico
120th minute:
And it is! DENMARK ARE THE NEW WORLD CHAMPIONS

So enough of hailing Pedersen and Denmark. In the next update, you'll have the transfer window, and September screenshots.

So finally Pedersen became a legend somewhere else than in our hearts... I thought I'd never live to see this day.
Congratulations to Denmark for pulling off such a miracle and to Pedersen for the suddenly unexpected charisma stablishment. ^^

.P.S.: Neubauer's stats are from Sunderland U21's team, right?

The man, the myth, the legend, Pederson well done mate!

Webster is extremely unlucky, drawn against Brazil, Portugal and Egypt, that's just unfair!

So it's the boys playing their trade in Portugal (Webster and Pederson) taking the early advantage.

Wow, just wow! What a season that was, no doubt the best one I've ever had in a BAP before! Breaking the goalscoring record for both club and league, leading Denmark to World Cup glory, despite not having started one single game :) Perfect season, surely I'll be a contender for the Golden Boy :P
