It doesnt matter how hard he hit him, the fact is that he made a movement towards messi

From another angle it looked like he got the ball. Also Messi didn't expect that from Carvalho, nothing malicious and it didn't deserve a booking

The elbow may have actually hurt him. It must have been a nasty blow, that happens so many times and people get accused of diving but the players sometimes get hurt.

He went down very easily, and a delayed reaction clearly trying to get Carvalho sent off..

Hardly any contact an the way he went down was over the top and delayed. Shame to see really.

Good half though Barca are unbelievable.

This.

Great first half of football, Barca fully deserve to have the lead but IMO, Ronaldo should have had a penalty.

Barca doing a good job of pressing high up the pitch to compensate for having such a high line, so Madrid are forced to play it back and sideways and went it eventually goes forward, it's often long and straight down the middle.

Madrid have been too narrow as well for me, both Barca goals came from the wing, and Sergio Ramos just doesn't look like he knows how to deal with Villa in that position. 2 slightly lucky goals with the deflections, but well worked nonetheless

Yeeyyy ! Atdhe's second stream of El Classico finally got working !! Ooh, it's half time . Ironic.

The last two times Barça were 2-0 up at home in La Liga against Real Madrid, they won the match 3-0 (Feb. 1999 and Nov 2004). #elclasico

I think in this game we see the fundamental difference between Messi and Ronaldo. When the pressure is on and the game is important, Messi plays better, as does Ronaldo.

However, Messi becomes the ultimate team players, sacrificing individual glory for the good of the team, working himself into the ground for victory. He becomes the ultimate team player. Ronaldo, on the other hand, takes all the burden on himself, shooting from more and more absurd positions, trying tricks aplenty and always looking to run at the defence rather than pass.

Oh wait just saw a replay, he shouldn't go down after that initial blow. Sorry everybody!

Real to win 3-2 after a epic Jose TeamTalk ;)

Please this. How fit is Higuain? or maybe Leon is a good bet? Benzema lonely up front and hasn't done much even when Madrid have had the ball...

Barça-Real HT stats – Shots 7-4, on target 2-2, Pass completion 87%-75%, Possession 69%-31%, Fouls 7-2

What? I don't understand that sentence at all..

Translation: I know Messi went down easily but it is hard to blame him, when his manager dives.

And many others ...

I'm gonna call you the statistic guy from now on ;)

When Ronaldo pushed Guardiola in the chest he started holding his face, so you can blame Messi for over reacting if his manager does.

I actually think Ronaldo goes missing in the big games sometimes. Agreed on the second paragragh though, Messi is much more of a team player than Ronaldo, one of the reasons he is the superior player.

Barcerlona deserve to be in front, relying on Madrid doing something to get back in it, because at the moment only one times looks like winning it.

Lass on for Oezil, one of the possibly strategies predicted at the start of the game on ZM

Lass in for Ozil ??!!! Attacking mid and a great player against DEF. mid and a great player .

Wtf ? I wasn't hoping that, when I meant that game will get more interesting after Jose's team talk oO)

More defensive solidity, removing an anonymous Oezil. Interesting. Will allow attacking players more freedom as well as allowing the full-backs to roam forwards without leaving the defence as exposed, Marcelo in particular.
