ok thanks KLIPPY cant wait for your newcastle one!, i just started my own save today with bilbao using the default database but i was wondering if i should use the update or not, is there a major difference between the update and the default? and should i start a new save w the update?

I would just use the default as nothing has really changed with Bilbao - still got the new stadium - still in europa league and the players out on loan aint any good so you are just as well using the default

MAY - END OF SEASON

Bilbao beat Manchester City to claim another Champions League
Barcelona beaten in extra time in the Copa del Rey final
Bilbao B win the Liga Adelante
Izurza, Torres and Perez Villarroya among the award winners

A fine end to the season. We wrapped up the title against Deportivo and finished the league season unbeaten in the end, although against Zaragoza we equaised in stoppage time! Our cup final specialist Aitor Herrera missed both cup finals unfortunately but we still came out victorious. Against Barca we dominated but struggled to score until we netted twice in the last five minutes of extra time.

In the Champions League we fell behind but then we injured City's goalie and they put some Welsh bloke called Brett Bodger in goal and he had a bit of a nightmare as we put 4 past him! City finished mid table in their domestic campaign so I expected to win this one easily.

All appearances - thats why David is right up there - he regularly plays 60-65 games a year while Aitor plays 45 max

How the **** isn't Bilbao a favoured club for you? Love the updates though, cracking end to the season. Keep up for good work if your keeping this going.

Cant leave Aitor - although I am getting itchy feet I must admit

According to Aitor's biography, he was born on 5 may 1996, started his career in July 2008, so 2 months after reaching 12 years, it is even possible in the game? I'm just wondering, cause i've never seen regens under 15 years old, furthermore he made his debut only at the age of 15, its really insane or impressive. I'm not suggesting anything, just enlighten the unenlightened :). Also I congratulate you perseverance, i really love the story, keep it up, won't be the same without Aitor but you never know! cheers

btw. read this page after page :p.

Never noticed that until you pointed it out! I dont have a clue why that would be as he appeared in the first youth intake. In his player history screen it starts off at 2011-12 so it puzzles me also now.

View attachment 256160

yeah i know, he was playing in Atletico before you started the game lol. But it happens to every regen appeared altogether(upload example from my game, he was exactly 12 years old when he started career in August 2010), maybe they are in the club but without signed youth contracts(im just completely guessin now). For example in real life first Messi's 'contract' was offered written on a paper napkin, on the other hand Messi in real life joined Barca in 2000(on FM it is 2002-2003) so it's kinda messed up, also my mind :p Speaking of two great players Aitor should exchange his 'legend status' with Messi because 'truly one of world football's global superstars' is better than 'is a well-known name for football fans across the Europe' :D.

PRE-SEASON / AUGUST

AIMS
Having gone last season undefeated in the league I would like to remain unbeaten in all comps. Cant remember if I have done that yet.
Plus keep our home run going - must be at least 8 years now since we lost!

PLAYERS IN
Spent £4.5m on 16 y/o Ivan Busto. Missed out on a forward though as he refuses to talk to me and he is about to turn 17. Signed a few other youngsters including a young attacking player on loan from Valencia so he can get Basque nationality.
View attachment 256266View attachment 256267
TOTAL SPENT: £5.5m

PLAYERS OUT
Loans galore here! Valcarcel being the most notable - he went to Betis for £1.7m. Gauna went to Toulouse, Bakero to Deportivo, Aramendia to Racing and Jesus to Valladolid. Plus a few B team players were loaned out also. Sold Victor Gamez to newly promoted side Jaen for £1.3m.
TOTAL INCOME: £5.5m

SUMMARY
When one goes out one comes in! Pinillos comes in for Jesus as backup goalkeeper. In for Valcarcel and Bakero is new signing Busto while Koldo Sesma has been promoted from the B team. My assistant manager for Spain kept saying that Sesma should get called up for the national team while he was in my B team! lol.

Kept getting messages saying Aitor is past his peak etc but he is still going to be first choice. Toni is better than Aitor now but as long as Aitor keeps getting 20-30 assists a season he will play!

A very very good month with some great victories that could have been even more comfortable. Vinas missed a penalty against Villarreal while Alfredo had goals chalked off against Valencia and Betis. Ayechu had one disallowed in Europe.

Keep getting told that Aitor is past his best and cant play at this level anymore. BOLLOCKS!! Sure he may be past his best but in 8 games he has scored twice and got 7 assists!

Spain smash 8 past the mighty Azerbaijan

Another good solid month. It started off with a fantastic comeback win over Arsenal where we found ourselves 2 down after 20min. We then battled away to get a nil nil draw against Real Madrid. My backup players did me proud against Shakhtar and they also got a routine victory over lowly Alcoyano in the cup.

NOVEMBER

5 hat-tricks scored this month!
Bilbao smash 8 past Sevilla
Herrera retires from international football - and then I talk him out of it again!
Spain defeat Poland and Ukraine in friendlies

Excellent!! Averaged over 4 goals a game this month as we went goal crazy. Didnt start off that way though as relied upon a late goal to beat Deportivo. My backup players were out in force again this month as they featured in all 3 cup matches. The month was rounded off with the 8 goal thrashing of Sevilla where we were 5 up after 18min! Amazingly Aitor only got 1 assist in that game.

The league is pretty much over already as we have a 7pt lead. Also David hasnt conceded in 730min of football. Backup keeper Pinillos has been getting a few games and we tend to concede when I play my backup players.

A nice end to the year with our customary trophy win! Disappointed to have thrown away a 2 goal lead to Arsenal but other than that we did well. The backup players were out in force and performed admirably. Busto looks to have slotted in perfectly well especially.

Really enjoying this season - was getting a bit bored but this has been good!

JANUARY

Bilbao suffer first league defeat! Managers fault......
Redaelli wins one world player award - Poirot of Bordeaux gets the other
A couple of players leave the club
Miraculous result away to Atletico Madrid - one of my very best

Highs and lows this month. The low was the awful defeat to Valladolid where we had Alfredo and Perez Villarroya taken off injured, however I forgot to do a team talk (was too hasty with the space bar) and we were awful.

The high was the win in the cup over Atletico Madrid as we had 9 players out and it was a 3rd string almost that went out there. David saved Fermin Garcia's penalty and then Alcalde scored in stoppage time to give us the win.

B team player Ismael Saenz was sold to Sevilla for £1.8m while we also loaned out Unai Villar. On loan player Jacinto has joined the club for £1.1m

FEBRUARY

Bilbao get back to their unbeaten ways
Injuries keep mounting up
Bilbao and Valencia to contest the Copa del Rey final
12pt lead at the top for Bilbao

A very good but tough month with fixtures against the other big 3 Spanish sides and a game against Roma thrown in for good measure. We got through to the Copa del Rey final - just! - as we squandered a 2 goal lead which made it a nervy ending. Quite happy with the 0-0 draw against Barcelona and delighted with the win over Valencia where we had my first choice attacking quartet (Izurza, Perez V, Herrera, Alfredo) out injured!

Against Real Madrid we had David and Garmendia taken off injured and then Perez Villarroya sent off before we scored 3 times in the last 10min. Incidentally Alfredo is out for a couple of months also.

MARCH

Bilbao tie up some deals for next season
Bilbao knock out Roma and have the advantage over Lyon
Spain defeat Norway as Aitor becomes Spains oldest ever scorer

Another solid month with no complaints really. We got some good wins and scored a few goals so all is good! Although I have given Garmendia player of the month, a special mention has to go out to Jaume Gutierrez who scored a couple and assisted loads, including 4 against Real Jaen.

Got a decent centre half and striker in the youth intake but they arent good enough to jump straight into the first team Aitor/Izurza style!
