thanks anyway keep up the god work...is there a team in spain you would recommend to manage apart from Barcelona or real

Depends what you are looking for? Obviously Bilbao are a great challenge. Malaga are a team with cash that hasnt won anything- Atletico Madrid have some good players. Just load up the league and have a look to see what tickles your fancy! lol.

Not sure about lower league sides if you like managing them but you could try and bring back success to Deportivo, Oviedo or Alaves?

The teams in Europe 1st season are - the big 2, villarreal and valencia Champs Lge with Atletico, Sevilla and Bilbao Europa Lge

thanks i may try Atletico madrid as i was them for 2 and half years..a story that i did on here and enjoyed it so i may be them...

A reasonable month started off with goals galore and ended disappointingly. The highlight was obviously the 13-0 cup win (my biggest ever) and the lowlight was the horrendous defeat to Granada. Against Real Madrid we were a goal and a man up with 2min to go when we conceded a penalty! aaaggghhhh

Bilbao and Sociedad slug it out for a 0-0 draw
Bilbao to face Fulham in Champions League
Real Sociedad appoint Quique Flores as new boss

A so so month. We extended our league games without a win to 3 against Sociedad so it was vital to win against Betis. Comfortably through in Europe where we will play Fulham who knocked out Real Madrid in the group stages.

Pretty much halfway through the season and its looking good! Youngsters Sanz, Garcia, Cidoncha, Ayechu and Ugalde are getting plenty of minutes and are impressing. The only downside so far has been the injuries to Aitor Herrera and Jon Alonso - back soon though!

Cheers mate - I admit I have been lucky on two fronts 1. Seem to get decent draws in the cups and 2. Getting Aitor Herrera into Bilbao in the 1st season - he already is one of my all time favourite players in the fm an championship manager series (been playing since Championship Manager 2 came out I think it was 94/95 season)

Stick with that tactic no matter who I play (player wise and save wise - if I went Elgin City I would use the same tactic). The player roles change - ie if Sanz is up front I change it to Advanced Forward and if Cidoncha is in CM I change him to a deep lying playmaker with support duty.

No set instructions but if I get a player with high stats in long shots I would make him do it regularly - Aitor Herrera has 15 but I think if I set him to shoot all the time it would take away many more opportunities with his passing abilities
 
great stuff! i have started and hoping i get the luck that you get! i do love Bilbao and you have really motivated me to play them with this post! I really hope i get a player like Herrera as well he is such a class act!

The only problem i have is on the update im playing Valdillo wont come to me. what version of the game are you playing it on?

Using the latest patch but I have edited ie Lotina to Villarreal. Amorebieta being Venezuelan, Diarra to Fulham etc. Amorebieta was my only tampering with Bilbao though.

Got lucky with Vadillo as praised and praised him plus got the board to give me the cash and it worked. Not sure when he is 17 but keep harping on at him and he should come round.
 
Love this story, my favourite club aswell been managing them since 2006. Love what you have done and I'm continuing to follow this, very good work and so enjoyable. :D

Cheers. Interesting season or two coming up. Llorente about to turn 32 so will have to decide between Garcia and Sanz (or Muniain and Aitor Herrera) to replace him shortly. Also I am in need of a left back as Monreal is on the wane and Aurtenetxe isnt top notch. Got a reasonable one in the youth team that might make the grade though.

I should do a poll - Who should be Llorente's successor? lol
 
Chuck up a picture of Garcia, Muniain and Sanz. Think Aitor Herrera is at home playing off the forward?

Just finished my first season with Bilbao finished 3rd and won the Copa del ray, signed Azpilcueta and Ruffier myself, Youth intake wasn't very good but i spent around 15m on regen youths. I was going to throw a story up myself until I saw this, very well done and can't wait for the next update :D:D
