Battlefield 3's co-op campaign will feature support for two players over 10 different maps, developer DICE has confirmed via PSM3 magazine.

Sure, it's a slim morsel of news, but the first real details the studio has let slip about the feature.
Eurogamer's Martin Robinson took a close look at the keenly-anticipated shooter's standard multiplayer mode in his Battlefield 3 hands-on preview earlier this week.

“It strikes a middle ground that’s likely to offend as many as it appeases,” he wrote, “stopping a little short of Battlefield 2’s nuance, while offering a more intricate game than that seen on the hyper-caffeinated killing fields of Modern Warfare.”

The game marches forth to retail on 28th October.

good idea doing co op :) Just pre ordered my copy from shopto.net :)

As we trundle ever closer to September, arms outstretched and saliva dribbling from our gaping mouths, more and more Battlefield 3 information trickles like rain onto our faces, making us eager to get our hands on the cool, refreshing oasis of DICE's latest outing. If you didn't quite catch that; we've got more Battlefield 3 information.

Happy now?

Curse.com has helped Enterbf3 come up with a few short questions for Kevin O'Leary, EA's Product Manager. The following is what he revealed:

Q: What can we expect for PC requirements to run BF3?
A: We’d love to tell you, but we’re not quite ready to release minimum specs just yet. I can tell you that the specs will not be anything crazy or Crysis-like. More details to come.

Q: Will we see the command rose or something similar?
A: That’s a good question! We do offer a lot of set up and customization on the PC for people to decide how they want to play. I’m not exactly sure how we’ll be doing the command rose.

Q: Will there be a server browser for consoles?
A: There will not be a server browser for consoles. We just recently announced "battle log" which is PC based but it’s a really friendly community tool. It allows you to branch out with friends and set up and join private matches. It’s also great for E-Sports, if you’re playing competitively, because it’s going to work with MLG and ESL and all those partners. So you’ll be able to authenticate matches without having to take screenshots and all that kind of stuff because the data feed is going to be encrypted and secure and be sent to them.

Q: How many weapon customizations can be expected?
A: Thousands! Probably tens or hundreds of thousands. This is the biggest battlefield we’ve ever made so the customization is huge and open. There’s three slots on every weapon so you can clip things on like a flashlight or flash suppressor, tons and tons of things. Optics… I can’t even believe how many optics they’ve gotten into the game.

Q: Will there be day and night cycles in multiplayer and if so how will they work?
A: Not so much cycles, instead we have day and night maps.

I watched it all again before its been taken down (assuming it will be at any minute)

Looks amazing, one small question. How the **** did he shoot down that plane/missile at a range of what i can only estimate being 1-2 miles using a sniper rifle?

Maybe he is god?

Only thing that looks worrying to me is how many bullets it takes to kill sometimes.

Other than that, very excited about the game, I want to play the BETA.

OK now i have watched it with sound on, it has become apparent that he didn't shoot the plane/missile down...

Image below has some recommended requirements for the alpha, should give an idea of what they could be for the final game.

Nathan have you played the alpha? My friend says its very good game. Obviously a bit rough round the edges but that's what you get with an alpha. The actual game is very good

Nope, didn't actually get the email myself.

He got one because he's signed up with EA and he is seen as a BF veteran cos he's played a lot of the games. I think I've played more (I played 1942!) but haven't signed up so thats probs why I didn't get one :P
