He's on the 14.0 database, so Sturridge isn't that good. Cisse and Remy are both rated higher than him in the original database. And I think Kroos is a CM not an inside forward.

Kroos is at Blackburn or Leeds I think, they pay wages that make Chelsea and Man City blush.

Magpies open summer recruitment with another youth talent

June , 2016

By Kevin Keegan

Despite rumors gathering pace Newcastle have been locked in negotiations with a world-class player, manager Dimiter Hristov remained faithful with his usual policy of snapping up talented youngsters early in the summer window. The club has officially announced the signing of Valencia winger Roberto Garcia (16) after agreeing to meet the player's 7.0 million pounds release clause.

Garcia first new player this summer

Garcia is a natural right winger with silky dribbling skills and would fit pretty well with the desired inside forward role. In the meantime the club has also announced several first team players have signed new long term deals with the club. Tim Krul, Memphis Depay, Leighton Baines, Alex Sandro and Eder Alvarez Balanta have been rewarded with increased wages. Landon Donovan has accepted a new combined player/coach role with the club which adds further fuel to speculation Hristov is looking to free up squad space to sign a new striker.

Roberto Garcia transfer verdict: 5.5/10 - another promising player we shall see in action in about 4 seasons - not exactly what the club needs to respond to the challenge of Chelsea and Manchester City here and now.

Rovers sign another Red Devil

After an impressive first season back in the Premier League the Blackburn Rovers board has stated ambition to kick on and cut the gap to the top clubs in England. Actions speak louder than words and if you believe that you must admit the club has made a real statement of intent today by capturing three exciting players. The first to join Blackburn is midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin (26) who returns to England after Shakhtar accepted a 16.75 million pounds bid for him. Morgan spent three years in Ukraine and made 104 appearances with 19 goals and 19 assists but couldn't claim any silverware with Shakhtar.

Schneiderlin returns to England

The second new recruit for Blackburn is England U21 international fullback Luke Shaw (21) who finally agreed to leave Southampton after the Saints accepted a 24.0 million pounds bid. Luke is exceptionally versatile player and can cover both flanks of defense and midfield. He made 88 league appearances for his home club and tasted success with England by helping the setup claim the European U21 Championship twice in 2015 and 2016.

Luke joins Rovers

Blackburn have also unveiled a third player in the face of flamboyant winger Lorenzo Insigne (25). The Italy international arrives from no other than Real Madrid in a 11.25 million pounds deal. Lorenzo spent two and a half seasons in Madrid and scored the impressive 45 goals in 75 starts but became disillusioned with the giants failing to win any trophies during his time there and demanded a transfer.

Insigne leaves Madrid for Blackburn

Morgan Schneiderlin transfer verdict: 7.5/10 - the Frenchman is a complete midfielder and will help improve a key area in the squad.

Luke Shaw transfer verdict: 7.5/10 - the fullback can provide competition on a number of positions and has valuable medal winning experience despite his tender age.

Lorenzo Insigne transfer verdict: 8.5/10 - flair players like Insigne are exactly what Rovers need to edge closer to the big clubs on the pitch!

Umtiti arrives at Stamford Bridge to replace Moreno
Umtiti better defender than Hector Moreno, says Ray Wilkins.

Chelsea have completed a surprise part-exchange transfer with French powerhouse AS Monaco. The player to leave Stamford Bridge is center back Hector Moreno (28) who spent two seasons with the Blues and played 80 games with 5 goals under Mourinho. The price Moreno dictated is believed to be 11.75 million pounds. It was deducted from the 20.5 million pounds fee Chelsea agreed to pay AS Monaco for strong enter back Samuel Umtiti (22). Samuel can play in left back if required and was massively popular and successful in France for both Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco, averaging upwards of 7.50 rating over the past four seasons.

Moreno and Umtiti - good or bad deal for Chelsea?

Hector Moreno transfer verdict: 8.0/10 - Hector was certainly a class under the other players in the Chelsea squad and using him as a bargaining chip in such a deal was the best Mourinho could have done.

Samuel Umtiti transfer verdict: 9.0/10 - one of the hottest young defenders around, Samuel has been brilliant in the early stages of his career and can still improve!

Gunners beat Newcastle to explosive striker
Wenger moves fast while Magpies engaged in Neymar talks

, Tuesday 21 June 2016

Arsenal have trumped Newcastle to one of their reported transfer targets after moving swiftly to agree a 23.5 million pounds fee with AS Monaco for explosive striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (27). Aubameyang spent a single season in France but will look to forget it after scoring just 15 goals in 41 games. He easily passed the 20 goal mark in the previous year with Dortmund though and Wenger will hope that kind of form can be revived to boost the Gunners' top four fight.

Aubameyang in London

This transfer is big for two reasons - it finally brings a natural goalscorer to Emirates and shows Arsenal can fight with the current top four clubs for players on the market.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang transfer verdict: 8.0/10 - excellent addition considering he is probably one of the fastest players in the world!

How many salaries do the clubs have?

You can calculate that on the season preview screens before each season, mate - I never bothered, but it's a lot. We could match it overall but the board cut our wage budget twice for no reason in June. Truth is we were never allowed to offer the huge individual wages the other big clubs and now Blackburn and Leeds do though and for that reason we simply can't compete on the market for the top current stars like Neymar. Only choice is to get the second tier players or pay big for undeveloped stars before they attract attention.
