Arsenal have confirmed Mexico international Carlos Vela (27) will be leaving the club after agreeing a 18.25 million pounds fee with AS Monaco. The nomadic striker became surplus to requirements after the arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and asked for a move to evade the prospect of spending his best years on the bench. Carlos spent two and a half seasons with the Gunners in what was his second spell at the club and managed 25 goals in 43 starts.
Carlos Vela transfer verdict: 5.5/10 - the fee Arsenal received was not bad although Carlos could have been useful as a squad player given his decent record and the Gunners' awful injury history.
GOALSCORER arrival was long due at Old Trafford
It has been a while since Manchester United last bought a striker - as a matter of fact the last signing in that area was Robin van Persie. David Moyes has finally moved to enhance the Red Devils attack. Mauro Icardi (23) becomes the first striker to sign under Moyes in a 22.5 million pounds transfer from Inter.
Icardi is a player who likes to play on the edge of offside and constantly moves into channels. He has been a revelation at Inter during his three seasons with the club, scoring 10 goals in his debut campaign despite only getting three starts. That was followed by 35 goals in 64 games which was enough to convince Moyes to make a move.
Mauro Icardi transfer verdict: 8.5/10 - one of the best possible acquisitions on the market with a great future ahead of him.

Sol Campbell
The Guardian, Sunday 10 July 2016Arsenal have agreed to sell winger Joel Campbell (24) to Wolfsburg in exchange of a 5.5 million pounds fee. Campbell found his first team chances limited despite breaking through the squad in the past two seasons and 14 starts weren't good enough to convince him his future lies at Emirates.
Joel had hinted at a promising future after getting involved in 30 goals over 42 games during a loan spell with Olympiakos in 2013/14 and scoring 38 in 61 appearances for his country but perhaps he just couldn't adapt to the Premier League and never impressed for Arsenal.
Joel Campbell transfer verdict: 4.0/10 - while the Costa Rica winger hardly impressed for Arsenal he is another offensive squad player to leave the team and that could well leave Wenger short of bodies at some point in the forthcoming campaign.
Iniesta joins to provide midfield ammunition for Red Devils!
Gary Neville Published at 7:55AM, July 20 2016
Manchester United have captured yet another breathtaking player after David Moyes found out Andres Iniesta (32) had sounded a desire to leave Barcelona and look for a new challenge. A 23.0 million pounds fee was enough to convince the Catalan giants to sell and the 110 times capped Spain international legendary midfielder was unveiled at Old Trafford!
Andres will be a tremendous asset as the Red Devils look to improve on their 4th finish in the league. Despite his advancing age the Spaniard is still one of the best playmakers in the world and can pull a pass with either foot which allows him to be utilized in literally any midfield position. He has won three major individual awards and phenomenal 25 competition wins during his career so far.
Andres Iniesta transfer verdict: 9.5/10 - the only downside in this transfer is Andres will only have two, maximum three more years at top level.
Rovers seal deal for Arsenal captain! ............................................................................................................ Blackburn have reaffirmed their ambitions to push on in the coming season by securing another high-profile signing - Arsenal's captain Thomas Vermaelen (30) joins Rovers after the Gunners accepted a 10.0 million pounds offer. This is undoubtedly a shrewd piece of business from the board as the Belgium international is undoubtedly worth substantially more considering his market price.
To be honest Thomas didn't have his best season with Arsenal in the previous campaign but he is still a very capable defender on top of his game despite critics suggesting he might be on the decline. Vermaelen managed 183 league appearances for the Gunners, scoring 21 goals. He was part of the team lifting the last Europa League trophy.
Thomas Vermaelen transfer verdict: 9.0/10 - there aren't many better defenders who would agree to join the Blackburn Rovers project at this stage so we must accept it is a terrific capture for the club, especially considering the low fee.
Spurs sign Benfica winger Eduardo Silva Balotelli goes public with unhappiness over transfers

The Guardian, Tuesday 26 July 2016Tottenham have finally made a move on the market but it isn't the star signing fans and players alike would like to see. Eduardo Silva (18) is a gifted winger joining from Benfica in a 6.75 million pounds deal but he is unlikely to feature in the first team yet. Silva is a part of the Portugal U21 setup for which he impressed by scoring 6 goals in just 8 appearances. He also played 15 games for Benfica B team last season and contributed with 2 goals and 3 assists - his impressive displays as well as his tendency to run with the ball often have drawn early comparisons with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Manager Michael Laudrup admitted the new stadium has deprived him of a major transfer kitty this window. This explanation is unlikely to bode well with a number of first team players who believe the club is underachieving and want to see new players arrive. Star striker Mario Balotelli has been extremely vocal with his discontent and went as far as threatening to leave if no measures are taken shortly. Players like Benzema, Higuain, Griezmann and Papadopoulos are also believed to be in the unhappy camp.
Eduardo Siva transfer verdict: 5.5/10 - promising youngster but the club needs to show some intent even if it involves wheeling and dealing rather than the usual splash of the cash.
Wallace leaves ChelseaView attachment 409788 Tony Cascarino Commentary Last updated at 9:14AM, August 2 2016
Chelsea have agreed to release fullback Wallace (22) after prolonged negotiations with Inter. The Italians finally meat the 15.0 million pounds asking price for the young Brazil U20 international. It is a peculiar judgment from Wallace to agree to go there after he already had one season-long loan spell with Inter back in 2013/14 and only started 1 game - adding just 6 more from the bench. It is likely Jose Mourinho's warm connections from his own stint as a manager there came into play.
The Stamford Bridge faithful will be disappointed at the news as Wallace has established himself as a very capable first team member over the past two seasons. He managed 21 starts, 1 goal and 2 assists plus 7.31 average rating in each of those and contributed for the title-winning campaign last term.
Wallace transfer verdict: 4.5/10 - while the fullback can't be put in the world-class bracket, he has been a revelation since breaking in the first team and the lack of ready-made replacement makes us believe this transfer weakens the squad - unless a further transfer is made.
Blackburn snap up another title contender ace ............................................................................................................ By Kevin Gallacher.........ii--iiiiii-iii..........9:02 PM Friday 5th August 2016 in Sport ............................................................................................................
Blackburn have pulled another magnificent capture after the transfer of Vermaelen - this time it is a player arriving from reigning champions Chelsea! Belgium international striker Romelu Lukaku (23) agreed to join Rovers in a cut-price 11.25 million pounds transfer after spending some time on the Blues' transfer list. Romelu has been trying to leave Stamford Bridge for a while but last season was the last straw as he only made two appearances from the bench.
Don't let that fool you though - Lukaku might have found it hard to compete for a place with the likes of Lewandowski, Neymar and Falcao but he is a lethal all-round striker - he has bags of pace, his aerial ability is second to none and he can score a bucketload of goals if given a regular starting spot.
Romelu Lukaku transfer verdict: 8.0/10 - probably the best striker in Rovers lineup as it is, Lukaku can form a tremendous partnership with Bony, Giroud, Ljajic or wonderkid Channing Chicksen.
