Blatter| La Liga best in the world.

Exactly. You wonder how Barca managed to accumulate such massive debts when 75% of their squad is home grown?

and yes...always good to hear others take on things. Sadly most on here can't open their eyes to anything and are so stubborn and set on their views.

Not having a shirt sponsor has a lot to do with it. They did spend way too much on a few transfers (Chygrinsky, Ibrahimovic, Mascherano) but that's only a small portion of their debt. I think it's mostly non-football related.

Yes it is, I actually agree with him. I assume most of you that commented are English, and will be biased, however if someone said its Fulham Vs. Newcastle, you would think 'Meh.' Unless the result affects your team, or they are your team. If you go to spain and see Deportivo Vs. Seville it will be a much better match, even tho both sides are mid-table (atm)

What does getting behind teams have to do with it? The Prem is currently more entertaining for a neutral than La Liga is.

In your OPINION it is. ManU is a lock for the title, at least La Liga is a close race. If you want parity, than you watch the Bundesliga, or the MLS (salary cap). If you want attractive football, than it depends on your tastes, but believe it or not most educated football fans outside of England and the States don't think it's attractive football. Just about everyone in Latin America I have met complains about how ugly English football is, and I agree with them. Argentina and Spain IMO have the most attractive leagues, followed by Brazil and Mexico. I like Portugal and Holland too, from the little I've seen of them, and at least the Bundesliga is high scoring. No offense but other than the MLS (a poor imitation of British football) the Prem might be the ugliest in the world for me (haven't watched much Scottish football though). I am put to sleep by watching Stoke and Blackburn play kick and run.

Where to start...

1) I dont find La liga attractive football, lots of teams pass shorter instead of longer yes, but the slow tempo is annoying and boring to watch. The players barely get closed down and are free to do what they want. I would rather watch Stoke vs Blackburn than Hercules vs Racing.

2) Prem isn't the ugliest in the world, And that is slightly irrelevant IMO, the tempo, is for me, what makes a match good/bad to watch, not whether the teams are playing shorter or more direct passing.

la liga has only got two good teams.. the rest are complete ****.. the prem is so much more competitive and has a better quality overall. Blatter is just talking **** as per

That might be. But remember thatAtletico won the Europa League, And Barcelona reached many SF of CL plus winning 2 in 5 years. And not to mention the World Cup. So I agree with Blatter that La Liga is the strongest league ATM.

Well it's a matter of taste, but most people just like whatever style they grew up with. The sport isn't big in my country but I prefer the Latin style of play. I prefer watching teams with better skill and technique to the ones with the biggest, strongest, and fastest players. If I want to watch a high-tempo game I guess I would probably watch the Bundesliga. At least it's a lot more offensive. But again, it's all up to what the individual likes, a lot of people think the Prem is the most attractive due to its pace, but a lot of people think it's ugly.

Fair enough. True about the Bundesliga, fun to follow and some of the matches are very un-prredictable.

In the title the, "blatter says la liga is best in the world"

The word best could mean several things

1) He could mean best to watch, which is purely opinion, But I disagree personally.

2) He could mean best players, yes the three candidates for Ballon'dor were all spanish and play in La Liga. However the average player in the prem is better than the average La liga player in my opinion, so again I disagree.

3) He could mean a mix of those two plus other things, such as resources, stadiums, passion etc.

When Barca do spend, they spend pretty big, knowing that they will always be bailed out

I've spent plenty of time looking at the Financial Fairplay rules in terms of the english clubs, havent yet though about it in terms of the Spanish teams, but from what i can remember, this could really hurt them, especially Real Madrid.

This is spot on Mike, when barca and real splash the cash they spend huge amounts Sid Lowe did a good article on it with both of the teams spending around 200m each last year.

Thats a huge amount compared to any other teams. It'll be interesting to see financial fairplay rules change the face of football maybe making a more level playing field. However the big teams will always be ahead because their big buisness.

I believe Blatter wants to create lots of attention for himself. Yes of course La Liga is a good league, probably because 3 Barcelona players were nominated for the Ballon'd Or, and the fact that no English player made it through there. I also find that he seems to be corrupt in any sorts of ways, and that he tends to hate English football a lot lately. EPL has great entertainment, and of course more clubs that fight for the title, and I don't know if this part is true, but I think more English teams have won the CL then Spanish clubs, even if Real Madrid won it 9 times.
