Mass exodus.
'By far the busiest Summer of my life!' Were the words uttered by Arsenal boss Josh Gregg at a press conference last night. His 'break' started with a dismal World Cup performance with South Africa, he led them to becoming the first ever host nation to fail to progress to the knockout rounds. This however produced a very favourable outlook for the Englishman, Dunga was sacked as Brazil Head Coach and Gregg stepped in and has taken the reigns! A very bold decision from the Samba Boys' FA, Gregg however really impressed in his one game in charge, beating Portugal 2-0 in a friendly. The highlight of which was Alexandre Pato's 25 yard screamer.
Now back onto club matters, the transfer window is always a stressful period of time but not many have been faced with the manic pre-season preparations Josh Gregg was faced with. Near 30 changes were made, these included bringing in some quality players:

-----
The most mainstream deals at the Emirates, obviously Ribery is the most notable signing and is predicted to be a very large hit this year, and with such an immense price tag so he should!
After the transfer action, Gregg's strongest XI looks like this:
Almunia
Sagna - Wilson - Vermaelen - Clichy
Song
Fabregas - Busquets
Arshavin - Ribery
Van Persie
------
This very strong starting side can be interchangable over many area's of the field, aswell as this, very impressive cover is available if any injuries occur. One of these cover players is Eden Hazard, who can play in any position across the middle of the park.
------
Gregg's men (counting pre-season) have now played in seven games, scoring 21 goals and conceding only 3! The slick movement that the new system utilises really shows with the chances created by every member of the team. However, in the four league games so far, they have not finished their chances very well, twice dropping easy points against Tottenham and West Ham, when they should have both been comfortably beaten. Even in their two 2-0 victories over Sunderland and Wolves their finishing hasn't been entirely convincing.
On a brighter note, record signing Franck Ribery scored on his debut against Sunderland. Playing as almost a third forward, his runs inside have been causing problems all over the shop! His partnership with opposite winger Andrey Arshavin is showing signs of being something beautiful and we are looking forward to seeing it continue!
