This is my second team guide, my first was Tottenham Hotspur and this one is on a Ukrainian side trying to force their way into the Champions League, Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk.

1. Club Details:
Name: Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk
Nation: Ukraine
League: Ukrainian Premier League
Position(2009/2010): 4th
Founded: 1918
Nickname: DD
Stadium: Arena-Dnipro
Manager: Juande Ramos

2.Season Expectations

Continental Qualification should be your expectation for the season. You have a nice budget of £4.8 million which would be more than enough for your needs.

3.Tactics and the first team Team
Dnipro is a good team with great talent. It is a team in Ukraine who is pushing for Europe. It is up to you know to break the dominance of Shakhtar and Dynamo Kyiv in Ukraine and build a new powerhouse.

As Dnipro, I would recommend using a 4-4-2 with wingers. There are many on this site, including Stu's, Raikan's and Mr.Hough tactics. I used the Il Devasto tactic which can be found HERE.

Here is a screen of the first team squad:

Goalkeepers:
0,,12562~3765605,00.jpg

Jan Lastuvka - Czech Republic - (27 years old)
Anton Kanibolotskyi - Ukraine - (22 years old)
Lastuvka is your obvious first choice here, a solid GK for your side. Kanibolotskyi is decent backup. A third choice keeper would be needed here.

Suggested Transfer(s):

In-
Artur Denchuk - Ukraine - Metalist - 1.4 Million - (18 years old)

-----------

Full-backs:
100249.jpg

Samuel Inkoom - Ghana - RB - (20 years old
Ucha Lobzhanidze - Georgia - RB - (23 years old)
Pavlo Pashaev - Ukraine - RB (24 years old)
Vitaly Denisov - Uzbekistan - LB/LWB (23 years old)
Ivan Strinic - Croatia - LB/LWB/LM (22 years old)

As Dnipro manager, you have decent full-backs at your disposal. Inkoom, who was signed from Basel in January is first-choice on the right, with Pashaev and Lobzhanidze as adequate backup. Another January acquisition for Dnipro was Croatian full-back Ivan Strinic from Hajduk, both he and Denisov are pretty similar so you might want to rotate them.

Suggested Transfer(s):
Out-
Ucha Lobzhanidze - 650k

-----------

Centre-backs:
rusol.jpg

Andriy Rusol - Ukraine - (27 years old)
Alcides - Brazil - (25 years old)
Nelson Rivas - Colombia - (27 years old)
Vitaliy Mandzyuk - Ukraine (24 years old)
Eugene Cheberyachko - Ukraine (27 years old)

Rusol is a class-act. He is the captain of your team. Alcides and Mandzyuk are decent, but not quality and one of them can be sold to generate funds. I sold Alcides as he would occupy a foreign spot if I played him. Cheberyachko is also decent, but I recommend retraining him as a full-back, because of his high dribbling and nice crossing stat. Also, you have Nelson Rivas, on loan from Inter but he has a crazy agreed future fee, so use him for one season and sign a replacement for a first choice CB :)

Suggested Transfer(s):
Out-
Alcides - 1 million

In-
Vitaliy Vernydub - Ukraine - Metalurg Zp - 350k (22 years old)
Dmytro Nevmyvaka - Ukraine - Metalurg Zp - 650k (26 year old)

Centre Midfield:
RuslanRotanUkraine.jpg

Ruslan Rotan - Ukraine - (28 years old)
Mario Holek - Czech Republic - (24 years old)
Sergiy Nazarenko - Ukraine - (30 years old)
Valeriy Fedorchuk - Ukraine - (21 years old)
Eugene Shakhov - Ukraine - (19 years old)
Jaba Kankava - Georgia - (24 years old)

This is arguably the best area in the Dnipro side. Rotan is a great player, and any CM role seems to suit him. Holek is a great ball-winning midfielder too. Nazarenko is a good player and can make the difference when brought on in the last 15 minutes.Shakhov is a great talent and must be given game time. Fedorchuk is also a nice talent, but won't get as much time as Shakhov, so I suggest loaning him out. Kankava is dead wood and should be gotten rid of immediately. You could increase the depth here by signing a ball-winner to cover for Holek.

Suggested Transfers:
Out-
Jaba Kankava - 300k
Valeriy Fedorchuk - Loan

In-
Christian Romaric - Ivory Coast - Sevilla - 1.4 million (26 years old)

Wingers:
94881.jpg

Eugene Konoplyanka - Ukraine - LW (20 years old)
Dmytro Lyopa - Ukraine - LW (21 years old)
Sergiy Kravchenko - Ukraine - LW (27 years old)
Giuliano - Brazil - RW (20 years old)
Matheus - Brazil - W L/R (27 years old)
Osmar Ferreyra - Argentina - W L/R (27 years old)
Maxym Kalinichenko - Ukraine - RW -(31 years old)

You have one of the brightest young Ukrainian talents in Eugene Konoplyanka who is backed up adequately by Kravchenko. Another January acquisition of Juande Ramos, superstar Giuliano is your first choice RW. Osmar Ferreyra is also a very versatile winger who can play on either side and is solid cover. Ramos also signed Matheus from Braga, but I don't think he is worth his wages and should be loaned out if you can, else sell him in January/second season. Kalinichenko is adequate and like Nazarenko in CM, he can also light it up in the last 15 minutes as a super-sub. You also have 21 year old versatile Dmytro Lyopa, its your choice whether to keep him or loan him out. No signings needed here for the time being, but you should find a RW to replace Kalinichenko for the next season.

Suggested Transfers:
Out-
Dmytro Lyopa - Loan
Matheus - Loan (Ensure that there are future buy-out clauses)

Strikers:

Eugene Seleznyov - Ukraine (26 years old)
Olexandr Gladkyi - Ukraine (22 years old)
Volodymyr Gomenyuk - Ukraine (24 years old)
Olexiy Belik - Ukraine (29 years old)

You have one of Ukraine's best players, your vice-captain, great target man Eugene Seleznyov. This is the guy you must rely on to hit the back of the net. Gladkyi is pretty similar to Seleznyov, but has speed on his side. Gomenyuk is decent backup, but its your choice to keep him or generate some nice funds by selling him. Belik is must-sell though, he's 29 and is of no use for your side. A good poacher or two to partner Seleznyov would be good here.

Suggested Transfers:
Out-
Olexiy Belik - 60k
Volodymyr Gomenyuk - 350k

In-
Vitaliy Balashov - Ukraine - Chornomorets - 350k (19 year old)
Roman Bezus - Ukraine - Vorskla - 1 million - (20 year old)
Alexey Rudenok - Belarus - BATE - 100k - (17 year old)

4.Staff and Training
First things first, Dnipro have **** scouts and **** physios, so go on a sacking spree and offer mutual termination to all of them and sign these-

Scouts:
Barry Whitbread - Unattached - England
Valeiry Porkuyan - Chornomorets - Ukraine

Physios:
Petr Novak - Sparta Prague - Czech Repbulic
Olexandr Demchuk - Nyva Vinnytsya - Ukraine

You have three assistant managers, sack all three. As for the coaches, sack all with the exception of Marcos Alvarez (4.5 star fitness) and Pedro Jaro (5 star GK).

Signings-
Roberto Rojas - Unattached - Chile - Assistant Manager- 4 star Tactical
Michel Bertinchamps - Tubize - Belgium - Fitness Coach - 4.5 star Fitness
Juan Jose Lasuen - Baskonia - Spain - GK Coach - 4.5 star GK
Massimo Bonini - Unattached - San Marino - Coach - 4 star defending
Robert Prosinecki - Unattached - Croatia - Coach - 4 star Ball Control
Dinko Jelicic - NK Dinamo - Croatia - Caoch - 4 star Shooting
Volodymyr Khohlov - Metalurg Zp - Ukraine - Coach - 3.5 star Attacking

Training Schedules:
Alongside good staff, a good training schedule is also required to develop your players. For this I recommend Paetoja's training schedules found HERE.

5.Other

Don't sign too many foreigners - In season 1, you are allowed to play maximum 7 non-Ukrainians in your starting 11. But this number gradually goes on decreasing per season, so it is best to control the number of foreigners you have.

Youth Facilities - Ask your board to upgrade your youth facilities, this is normally accepted.

Shakhov,Fedorchuk,Denchuk and Lyopa - These guys would be the backbone of your team in future. Give them maximum game-time and have them tutored by players like Nazarenko and Kalinichenko.

Scout,Scout and Scout - Have your scouts travel to nations like Peru,Uruguay,Romania and South Africa. Great bargains and Wonderkid regens could be found there ;)

NOW UPDATED FOR PATCH 11.3

Thanks,

****.

totally agree about rotan and holek they are pretty good

fantatic guide
how about u add Alexey Rudenok as a signing maybe???

Very good guide and a great team for people who are bored of FM (seems like there are many these days)...you have a good domestic challenge (breaking up the big 2) and a good European challenge (I bet it'd be very difficult to win the Champions League with a Ukrainian team).

Thanks a lot mate, what position is Rudenok? Not on FM currently.

striker and amc
but better striker cuz hes freakisly athletic
needs 2 3 years to develop but a monster prospect

Good team to start with, I tried a game with them. Couldn't get Gladyki and Seleznyov to work up front, so sold one of them.. Good luck though. :)

That was a problem I suffered too, then I played Seleznyov as target man and Balashov as poacher and It worked as a charm. Gladkyi and Seleznyov both are target men type players., thats why the problem

I'm managing them simultaneously with my Liverpool save and 1st in league after 24 games.

Nice going mate! Tell me more! Who did you sign? What tactics are you using? How are you doing in the Europa League?

Yep, I ended up selling one of them, both talented target men, hard to make a partnership out of.
