We enjoyed even greater success in season 2 of the tactic, despite (IMO) a weakened squad. Having been forced to sell Ayew due to his ******** and moaning about wanting to join up with Dortmund, and Doria to Real Madrid, I had to bring in Gustavo Henrique and Yannick D'Jeng. Also used some of the money from the sales to bring in Enner Valencia as an immediate upgrade to Lozano (I still like him, but his age and his stamina make him more of a rotation guy at this point).
We proceeded to win the Ligue 1 title by a comfortable 6 point margin over PSG. We also managed to advance past the group stage of the Champions' League where we unfortunately came up against a vastly superior Bayern side, who I actually thought we performed admirably against. We were unable to bag a goal in either leg, but we did hold them to two 1-0 losses. Speaks volumes to the defensive strength of the tactic.
Despite winning the league we've been given absolute **** for a transfer budget going into season 3 and N'koulou has forced me into selling him as well, so it should be interesting to see how we get on from here.
