View attachment 459841

Liverpool legend John Aldridge, 59, is about to embark on his seventh season as Reds boss he hopes.

Best Liverpool manager? Shankly

The best Liverpool manager since the days of Shankly and Paisley has been the victim of speculation this week after a less than satisfactory showing in the Premier League last season.

The ex-Liverpool front man, who scored 50 goals in 83 games for Liverpool and 138 in 243 games for Tranmere, has been under increasing speculation this week, mainly due to the sacking of England manager Brendan Rodgers.

ALDO SIGNS FOR ENGLAND AS SIGNINGS COME THROUGH THE DOOR

View attachment 459833

The English FA today announced that the popular Liverpool manager, John Aldridge, has signed a four-year contract with The FA.

The 59-year-old manager is tasked with qualifying for the European Championship, from a tough group including Northern Ireland, Czech Republic and Norway

Despite all of the speculation over Aldridge's future, he has remained professional at Liverpool and has signed 3 players.

Aldridge has bolstered his attack force by signing Reading striker Chris Wood and Chivas star Carlos Fierro. He has also added to his defence by signing Maximilliano Herrero.

CHRIS WOOD FROM READING FOR ?7M

CARLOS FIERRO FROM CHIVAS FOR ?15M

MAXIMILLIANO HERREREO FOR ?14.25M

JANUARY UPDATE

After a very poor season last time out, finishing sixth, losing the FA Cup final on penalties etc, I decided to get rid of the old players like Sven Bender (resigned from Real Madrid the previous summer) and bring in some youngsters from other clubs.

SCOTT GEORGE-MIDFIELDER-FROM SWANSEA ?15M
A player who will hopefully replace Christian Eriksen in the heart of the midfield, will be partnered with fellow Welshman Tony Cooke.

OLIVER BEAZLEY-STRIKER-FROM READING-?4M
Due to Kevin Volland ageing and Bradley Wilde not continuing his scoring sprees and just being inconsistent for Liverpool, I signed Beazley as a back-up plan

BOB UTTERSON-MIDFIELDER-FROM NEWCASTLE-?15M
The 23-year-old Geordie has been on our wish list for some time now to replace Javi Martinez, I'm delighted we finally have him and as you will see, he's done well

LUKE EDWARDS-DEFENDER-FROM BLACKBURN-?4M
They must be putting something in the water down in Wales! They've been producing youngsters like theres no tomorrow and they could be a decent team in future

OUTS
CHRIS WOOD-TO BLACKPOOL-?8M
The ex-Reading man couldn't cut it here at Liverpool so we moved him on for a ?1m profit
APPS-5 GOALS-0

ARON GUNNARSSON-TO SUNDERLAND-?4M
The Ice Warrior turned out better than expected here at Liverpool, making our fans best eleven, but he wanted game time so he had to go
APPS-29 GOALS-0

SVEN BENDER-TO SOUTHAMPTON-?15M
I didn't want to sell Sven, he'd only just returned from his exile in Madrid, but due to the emergence of Cooke and Utterson, he had to go
APPS-206 GOALS-5

CARSTEN SEIDEL-TO ARSENAL-?15M
The German right back signed from Dortmund on a free in 2016 but couldn't push past Dani Carvajal in the right back slot, Arsenal came in and off he went for a ?15m profit
APPS-34 GOALS-0

COMPETITIONS
We've done better than last year, that's all I can say.

FA CUP
Third Round v Wigan Athletic coming up

LEAGUE
Top of the league after 19 games on 49 points, eight points clear of second with a game in hand
We've gone unbeaten in the league for 44 games, 6 more and we've beaten Arsenals record

We have the youngest average age out of all the teams, 23.96, and they say you can't win anything with kids

Quick update though, I won the 2019 FA Cup, 2019 Premier League and the 2019 League Cup, lost the Europa League final to Leverkusen and went from November unbeaten in league and cup, signed Sven Bender, Enrico Della Torre, Maximilliano Herrero, Luke Shaw, Carlos Fierro, Chris Wood, Warren Tyler and Viktor Fischer

Sold Walcott, Jose Enrique, Mandzukic, Charles Jose and Criscito

FM13 seems to be much more consistent and a bit better than 14 so I'll start this again

Now then where were we? The summer of 2020, England have just crashed out of the European Championships after a 1-0 loss to Portugal and John Aldridge has resigned to focus on Liverpool.

LIVERPOOL 1-1 ARSENAL
Liverpool win 4-3 on penalties

The seasons first piece of silverware went to Merseyside after Liverpool stole the win near the end of the game.

The game started well, with Arsenal making much of the early running, The Gunners went close on a couple of occasions, forcing saves from Liverpools young German goalkeeper, Miso Huseinbasic. However a couple of minutes later, the tide began to turn, Liverpool dominating possession and going close themselves, Szczesny pulling of a number of saves in the Arsenal goal.

However, two minutes before half time, Arsenal took the lead against the run of play, former Kopite Carsten Seidel whipping the ball into the box for England star and former Derby County man Will Hughes to hammer home, now the impetus was very much with The Gunners.

After half-time the match carried much the same pattern, Arsenal starting well, but fading about midway through the 45 minutes, allowing Liverpool too much time and space on the ball. Liverpool hit everything, the post, the bar, the stantion behind the goal, but still they couldn't break through.

Liverpool tried everything, and they're breakthrough soon came, Danny Batalla was careless on the ball, losing out to Spanish full-back Dani Carvajal who launched a quick counter for Liverpool. He played it out wide where midfielder Bob Utterson gratefully recieved the ball, he beat Seidel before cutting inside, hit a ferocious shot, which was spilled by Szczesny. Christian Eriksen threw himself at the ball and scored. 1-1.

Now, penalties awaited the two sides. Hazard, El Shaarawy, Utterson and Volland scored for Liverpool. Ayew, Wilshere and Keer scored for Arsenal. Martinez stepped up. SAVED! Will Hughes could have made himself a hero, he hit it sweet and hard... SAVED BY HUSEINBASIC!!
