Cheers guys, you've been among my biggest supporters - appreciate it. Outta interest have either of you taken a look at the downloadable matches? The next one will be the Cup Final.

Not yet, I haven't been on my main computer yet, I will give it ago, I've been on my brothers laptop last few days which doesn't have FM, will have little look tomorrow, looks like a mint idea.

Sunday 1st June 2014: Cup final day again!

We are here at the Khimki Arena just north of Moscow, for the final of the Russian Cup and it promises to be a cracking match today between two giants of Russian football, Rubin Kazan and Zenit St Petersburg.
The weather forecast predicts rain and this is sure to make things interesting down on the pitch as the surface is slick which could lead to mistakes.

Rubin manager Dan Lake is no stranger to this competition as he saw his FC Moscow team lift the cup in this very stadium two years ago. Rubin Kazan have only appeared in the Russian Cup final once before losing to CSKA Moscow, whilst Zenit have a win under their belt having been triumphant back in 1999.

The path to glory

To reach the final Rubin had to overcome Anzhi (2-1), Saturn (3-0), Locomotiv Moscow (2-1) and CSKA (3-2).

Meanwhile Zenit scored an amazing 17 goals in dispensing with Volga NN (6-0), Chernomorets (3-1), Kuban (2-0) and Krylja Sovetov (6-3).

The Bookmakers have placed Zenit St Petersburg as favourites to win today at 6-4, whilst Rubin Kazan are slight outsiders to lift the trophy at 13-8.

Players to watch

Today’s television pundits have picked out the following players as potential match winners:
Andrey Arshavin (Rubin Kazan)
Danny (Zenit St Petersburg)

Rubin are missing their influential captain Nikola Drincic whilst Zenit will be without striker Mame Biram Diouf who has got six goals so far this season.

I'm going to do a Journeyman game in my next story. Check out my current story and rate it for me if you want, I don't have many comments and have no followers so far !

Apologies for the lack of recent updates but I have working on some exciting new developments for this story. There may be a pause for a couple more days but hopefully when I return it will be worth the wait! Personally, I am very excited about the new layout and I hope that you will enjoy it too! ;)

Cheers James, I admit that the league is my top priority now, 12 wins from 12 so far! My rep' has risen to continental but need that title win to cement my place in the history books! Not playing at the moment to work on the new layout, I just can't wait to use it! :D

Brilliant stuff mate - Keep going, really enjoying it.

P.s - Keep your eyes peeled for a 'huge' announcement to be made by Alex Whitehouse shortly ;)

Just read through the whole topic. It has been a lot of fun so far and interesting teams you have played with so far. Nice job on the latest season going unbeaten! Hopefully some real breakthrough season going on? ;)

Cheers bud, let's hope it's a breakthrough season... I'll be beside myself if I let this lead slip!

Latest news: the new layout is coming along nicely and I expect it to be up and running for the weekend! Check back in and watch this space!

Stop leaving us in suspense!!!! lol......

Neeeeed updates....

Carlos

Best story I've read here. The various layouts used have been excellent, looking forward to the new one! And I'm loving the downloadable matches - well worth the effort uploading them.

You've also inspired me to try my own adventure, although I won't put it as a story yet as I'm not entirely confident at writing it, and it will look terrible compared to this!

Keep up the good work! :)

Dan's East European Adventure: The First 5 Years

OK, so here it is the... the new layout!

to see it click on the LINK

It is an interactive website dedicated solely to my East European Adventure. Instead of the usual posts I will re issue the link with a few words everytime I update it. Use the link to browse the site and then choose what information you would like to view... there are the usual match reports, news items, results and fixtures, but you'll also find also squad profiles, video, and the chance to vote on things like player of the season.

There is no advertising on the site and I stand to gain nothing, it is just for fun and the only place you will find links is here on fm-base.co.uk. There is no message leaving facility as I want comments posted here on this thread.

There are a few things that still need tweaking (the video could be bigger and clearer) and I am interested in any feedback you can offer. Hope that you enjoy! :)
