Champions League 1st Knockout rnd Draw

It shows the difference between finishing top and second as we manage to get a very winnable draw against French club Lyon while Man Utd who came second in our group get drawn against Barcelona.

Ewandro grabs the only goal of the game to put us in a strong position for the second leg as Ewandro also moves to the top of the Champions League Golden Boot chart.

It was Ewandro's only goal this month that helped in the Champions League but it was Santini who dominates proceedings in the league while i tried to use youngster Fran Brodic a bit more as i rotate the squad to leave players fresh for Europe.

So were dominating the domestic scene as were now 30 points clear of second place surprise package Slaven Belupo with Hajduk in 3rd and Rijeka languishing in mid table obscurity.

Santini is currently 4 goals ahead of Ewandro in the Golden Boot race as we manage to have Santini as the Top League Goalscorer but Ewandro as the clubs Top Goalscorer.

A comfortable win to start my tenure as the Croatia Under 21 manager as two of my Dinamo players get the winning goals while Jurina also won the man of the match award. This will also be a helpful way at looking at some of my youth players and if i can move them up to the Dinamo main squad.​

A late Ewandro brace confirms our progression as we beat Lyon 4-1 on aggregate and make our way to the Champions League Quarter Finals.

A mere 41 points clear of second place Slaven Belupo as we now dominate the league to the extent that we almost have double the amount of points to our nearest rival with Belupo only having 44 points themselves.

With Ewandro coming in and doing the buisness i have not thought of the fact we sold Demba Ba, Dongou and Dzeko all in the last 8 months.​

Oh yes! We got dominated to be fair by Bayern for most of the match but in the dying seconds of the match winger Dyego grabbed a late, late winner.

They had way more chances but our counter attacking youthful side destroyed them every time we hit them on the break. We scored all 5 goals even Bayern Munichs and after this match nothing is impossible as we make the Champions League Semi Finals.

This was a perfect draw for us as we get drawn against the weakest team left avoiding Man City and Real Madrid and getting drawn against Ajax who we have only lost once to in the last 6 matches.

Well what a game! This match literally had everything,16 Yellow Cards, Garmash misses a penalty, Diarra gets sent off then Garmash scores a late penalty but Halilovic had already got the all important away goal to see us through to the Champions League final.

Along with Ewandro winning the Golden Boot his strike partner Ivan Santini had the most assists.

Right so thats Europe over for another season and i have got to say in 5 seasons to have made the Semi Finals and Finals of the Champions League is far exceeding expectations.​

Thanks guys i didnt expect to get anywhere near this sort of level so early on but the key is to keep Ewandro and not lose him on the cheap like i did Dongou last summer.

An outstanding first season for the young Brazilian i signed on a free transfer a year ago, Who would have thought he would be the Champions Leagues top goalscorer and help us all the way to the Champions League Final.

Most of my dealings coming in were already done before this but i did see a few more players leave.

So the first big departure was Tony Goldberg as we let him go for ?6.75million after signing him on a free less than 6 months ago, I knew he had potential but he wouldnt fit into our system. Long serving Ruben Lima left for ?2.8million as i felt with young left back Darren Taylor playing more and Kolarov as a decent backup i could cash in. A load of youngsters who would never reach their potential also left for small fees while the biggest deal was George Thorne
So as i mentioned before he had been itching for a move and when Arsenal came in with an offer over ?12million i felt i couldnt pass it up.

Players In

So first off all of my signings were free transfers yet again with the first being versatile young English man Patrick Roberts joining from Fulham while i also picked up a young Croatian striker called Petkovic who could be the new Santini and was a huge deal to get on a free transfer. there were also 2 players my Head of Youth brought in and my two luxuries from the Premier League Wayne Rooney and Carl Jenkinson.
Jenkinson fits into my philosophy slightly more on not that higher wages and young enough to give me a resale value while Rooney was more of a fun deal after some terrible injuries to the first team you will see soon.

Not really wonderkids bar from the ones i have bought, the ones coming through wont really be good enough for what i can bring in with the money i have unlike my Dundee Utd save were i had to use the youth due to lack of funds

The top 3 goalscorers and top 3 in the assists charts, I wonder how long Ewandro will stay in the top 5 despite already missing a month. I reckon he is so much better than the rest that he will still win the Golden Boot.​
