Feliciano: I Miss Wolfsburg!

Sky Sports caught up with Wolfsburg manager Daniel Feliciano yesterday in his hometown of London and asked about how his season off had been going so far.

It's been good to be honest. The earthquake hit London hard, but especially my small area so I felt it was important for me to give back to the community that raised me and I feel I have done that well so far. I miss Wolfsburg, alot. They don't show German football here which is a shame, but I've been in contact with Sarstedt and he informs me that we are doing well in all competitions so I'm proud of him and the squad. I firmly believe that we will win everything again. Achim is a quality manager, and I'm sure he will deliver everything that the fans and the board want.

After we showed the details of Wolfsburg's season to Feliciano he had this to say:
Well, it looks like a good season to me so far. We're second in the league by a single point with the league leaders up next. We've already taken points off them this season, so I think Achim is doing a fantastic job. He got us top in our Champions League group aswell, which included Athletico so thats excellent and he's going to have a tough task in the next round vs Barcelona, but I'm sure he'll be able to see us through to the next round!

Going to post the transfers and all the Portugal stuff now..

Wolfsburg have had an incredible season even without manager Daniel Feliciano at the helm, winning the Bundesliga - AGAIN, the Champions League - AGAIN, and the Club World Cup - AGAIN! However, their only failure was being beaten in the final of the German Cup by underdogs Gladbach, who stole a 1-0 win in the final! However, considering they didn't have their manager, the most successful manager of all time Daniel Feliciano at the helm throughout the entire season they can call it a fairly successful season.

Best Players of the Season

Top Goalscorer: Alberto Paloschi - 32 goals in 50 (1) games
Most Assists: Fabian Delph - 15 assists in 52 games
Highest Average Rating: Wilson Palacios - Average Rating of 7.40
Star Player This Season: Yoann Gourcuff - 45(1) games - 18 goals - 11 assists - 4 MoM - Average Rating 7.10

After Daniel Feliciano was spotted at the UEFA Champions League final in the crowd, we caight up with him after their momentus win over his boyhood club, Manchester United.

Well, who needs Feliciano eh? No, it's a great achievement for the club and once again we've shown that we are able to hang with the big boys. The players have had to dig deep this season and they certainly did. They were unluck against Gladbach because they dominated but they got caught with a break and were punished but tonight they were solid and I'm ecstatic. The next thing on my list now is the World Cup, so hopefully I can add that to my list of trophies!

World Cup Updates soon, going to update Stage by Stage!

Well, it seems that starstedt isn't so bad at all :P
keep the good work going, and they will build a new stadium for you.

Now, good luck with Portugal!

They've already built a new stadium while I've been at the club so will be a while before they build another!
I notcied though, I'm now in the 'Legends' list along with Edin Dzeko, and two other people, one who they named the stadium after. There are no icons and Paloschi and Kolarov are in the favoured personel list :)

Thanks dude group stage update shortly, currently playing the second match.

Good group stage for us, although we didn't smash through Iran like I would've expected a win was a win and that win got us into the next round, but the loss against Germany means we go through in second place in our group. We will take on Spain in the next round, tough game but we beat them in the Euro's 2 years back, and hopefully we can do it again!

FIFA World Cup 2018 - Second Round!

Portugal 3-2 Spain
Ronaldo x3

A great win for us. We went behind to a controversial penalty, and then Cristiano Ronaldo stepped up with an absoloute screamer to level it up shortly after. Wolfsburg striker Samuel, who Feliciano signed and brought to prominance at Wolfsburg, put Spain back in the lead with a good finish in the box, before Portugal hit the Spaniards on the break for Ronaldo to drill home his second goal of the game. Then with 6 minutes to go, substitute Yannick Djalo used his pace to get away from Gerard Pique who brought down the striker in the box, and Ronaldo stepped up and slotted home to seal his hat-trick. Nani and Djalo both had chances after that to seal the game and Fernandez had a free-kick tipped over the bar, but overall a fully deserved win for Portugal in this game, and they will take on Croatia (who knocked out France in the previous round) in the Quarter-Finals!

FIFA World Cup 2018 - Quarter Finals!

Croatia 0-2 Portugal
Ronaldo x2

Yet another fantastic performance for Cristiano Ronaldo and his Portugal side saw them qualify for the Semi-Finals of the World Cup tonight. Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored both goals in this 2-0 win sent his side through to their first World Cup Semi-Final since 2006. Ronaldo scored two headers giving him his 69th and 70th international goals on his 142nd cap for the National side. A great win for us where we kept our heads down, and defended solidly and was even more impressed by the fact that we were underdogs and played with 3 at the back yet still came away with a fairly comfortable win. England in the Semi-Finals, going to be an epic match!

An unlucky game for us. We were oh so close to getting to the final, but 2 disallowed goals ruined those chances. A great goal from centre back Jordan Spence won England the game in the end, but in truth we deserved to be in the final against Belgium (there only because of a monster regen). A great attempt by the lads, and we'll be looking to claim third place in the playoff against Cameroon (don't know how they got there!)

FIFA World Cup 2018 - 3rd Place Playoff

Portugal 1-0 Cameroon
Feliciano

A great achievement for us, and with my son scoring the winner it was fitting that we wrapped up third place in the World Cup. We were 7th in the World Rankings at the beginning of this tournament (3rd before I went on holiday) and surely this will push us up the rankings. A great tournament for us, but that elusive trophy still missing from my cabinet!

England Win World Cup, Then Sack Stuart Pearce!

Cheers for the advice Danny. I'll see what a few more people say, and then make a decision! :)

Cheers Sam :)
