Procter: Someone Will Be Going

Tony Procter has today put the cat amongst the pigeons by exclaiming 'someone will be leaving after the World Cup', but in the same sentenced he confirmed it would not be Manager Ed Ames, or himself. This has left only two people it could be, Vice-Chairman Daniel Carter, or Assistant Manager Anothony van der Eiek. He said it was a 'mistake' in appointing this person and that all would be revealed in an hour or so.

I wonder who it is prob Carter lol told you should of hired me for the postion LOL

You love this don't you Tony. :P ;)

The atmosphere was amazing. In the tunnel, with the lads, I was literally bricking myself. And as we slowly strode out onto the pitch, I was struck by tens of thousands of fans dancing and singing.

Nelson Mandela had just been escorted around the stadium, and I had the great honour of meeting South Africa's hero. What a man; what a legend.

Then the two teams walked out. I went eye-to-eye with Domenech and he uttered something in French, "merde something". Whatever it was, I don't like him.

YouTube- Broadcast Yourself.

I held my hand on my heart as the National Anthem was played, and I thought of the fans, the players, the board, and every single Englishman. We can't lose now, we really can't.

The horrible French anthem then played, and Les Blues struggles to mutter a word. I laughed. Some passion they've got.

The mascots were escorted away, and the two captains met in the middle. Steven Gerrard and Thierry Henry. Henry's always been a decent chap, from what I've seen and he shook Stevie's hand, and walked back to his team.

The officials organised themselves and checked their watches. We were ready to go.

13 minutes in, we were already 1-0 up. Ashley Young played a brilliant ball through and Rooney latched onto it for his 8th goal of the tournament, that's phenomenal. The fans went wild and so did the players.

20 minutes later (33mins in), Wazza caught up to another wonderful ball and Wayne stuck it in. 2-0 after 30 odd minutes, we can't lose now, surely?

Then, 45 minutes in, Rooney got the ball from Ashley Cole. He took it past one, past two. Thread a ball through to Gerrard like a craftsman and Gerrard finished it, top corner. 3-0, YES!

We sat tight until the 71th minute. Philipe Mexes made a brilliant run and hit a superb strike from 25-yards. Top corner, 3-1, they're clawing back into it.

I was getting worried, but Rio abliged. He headed in from a brilliant corner from Lennon. 4-1, that's the World Cup thank you very much.

And as if to add insult to injury, Steven Gerrard tackled Gallas and made his way towards goal. And bang, just like that, we had won the FIFA World Cup Final 5-1, yes, 5-1.

We beat the Frogs, we won, we beat the World, we won the World Cup.

Ames considered resignation!

In a shocking turn of events after winning the World Cup for his country, Ed Ames has revealed he was at one point considering resigning from "his dream job".

"Winning the World Cup is the jewel in any manager's crown. I don't see what more I can do with the England team. I know of many capable managers that could take other."

"The day after the Final I wondered about what more I could for the team and country. I didn't think I could, but I realise now, that I can. I definately can."

"The oppurtunity of building the squad really does entice me, and I've decided I will stay on as England Manager. I am looking forward to working closely with my new backroom team and hopefully bring home a strong performance in the European Championships."

"We've got lots of brilliant young players, and older players that will still be around for the Euros. I see no reason why we can't go all the way."

"I'd like to congratulate and thank everyone involved with England Football. This is a great acheivement for the country."
