If you think Liverpool (in a rebuilding stage, with important injuries) should be winning teams in the Europa with ease there is something wrong with you. Benfica, Porto, Villareal and PSV are all Champions League standard sides, and Spartak Moscow smashed Ajax 3-0 last night, 4-0 on aggregate. Yes,we underperformed slightly, no we should not be winning with ease.

That being said the performance was poor, I lost count of diagonal balls played to Carroll although with Suarez, Gerrard and Agger in the side we will have so much more movement and passing rather than long balls. Also, why the **** is Pacheco never given a chance? Top scorer and best player in the U-19 World Cup, outshining the likes of Canales. oO)

united should not be winning the champions league with Ease, because i dont know how much you looked at the ranking, although united are top, there is this little team right behind them called Barcelona, Who is the nearest challengers to you for 5th. thats right a champions league team, Like you are really( that was painful to say)

You have a squad no..? The side that played last night, should if steam rolled Braga, at anfield as well. Everyone has injurys... But most teams still progress and liverpool should of. United had no Rio, Vidic, O'shea and Rafael against Marseilles, but found a way through, Liverpool are at the standard, where they should be finding ways to win this comp, with or without injuries.

You say a rebuidling side, You are rebuilding for what exactly. Champions league winning side again, surely this would of been a step in the right direction, instead you stood still.

Pacheco has literally disappeared, i expect him to be off in the summer, shame with all the bragging that went out about him.

As much as I hate to say it, our squad depth really is poor. You say we're ranked 5th so we should of won this tournament with ease, if United are top ranked, they should surely be winning the Champions League with ease? Or is it 1 rule for United another for Liverpool?

Not sure who bragged about Pacheco, I thought he'd become a first teamer on performances for the reserves and Spain sides. He's either not good enough, or not physical enough for us. Can't really be arsed with a United v Liverpool argument atm.

Sporting didn't lose, it was a draw ;) And the match in lisbon was a friggin robbery.
On the other hand, Liverpool did lose against Braga.

Back on main topic: I reckon Porto and Benfica to go through, Villareal to edge Twente, and Kiev beating Braga, reaching the QF is very good for them, but Kiev is just too much for them to handle.
 
I hope Villarreal to reach the final at least, but they could face Porto in the semis which would be a hard challenge.

disappointed no british teams went through, rangers were very poor, liverpool were unlucky and man city can thank young mario bib o telli for being a jackass

Ya, as a Portuguese fella, I'd like to see a Portuguese Final, but at the same time im afraid of what it would make to Porto's morale. And as the chances would be 50/50, losing to them in the Final would give them bragging for the next hundred years.
 
anything can happen really, but JJ will place all his bets in UEL and i personally believe that if we go through PSV (i never 4get the UCL final) we will win UEL.
