Yeah, the first 10 mins of the match our passing was better than Barca's... Even my friend who is a Arsenal/Barca fan agreed.

It was a pen and im annoyed by it however I did expect him to go down and thats prob what the ref has expected too. First one though would have been the match changer hand ball red card penalty! but awell **** happens.

Both English teams out, and Rangers, FML why cant english teams ever do well in the Europea league ffs.

Its one of the questions they should use in the Krypton Factor, cause no one can answer it.

That was a one off, usually we enter one of the highest ranked teams in the competition or one of the higher skilled teams, and they usually always Fail, liverpool should of walked this cup, yet didnt, City should of got a lot further, yet didnt.

Read the quote again. He says 'ever'. As in not just this year. ;)

Ever was an exxageration, i never expected anyone to take it so literally.

I agree, but Fulham still, 'did well'.

How is last year taking 'ever' literally?

because it was a one off tbh, it is the only real time and english side has excelled in the Europa league.....

yet we havent won it since 2001, which is 10 years this year, and generally apart from Fulham havent come close, I know someone will say City got to the semi, but then got well and truly beaten by Hamburg.

I thought Boro got to the final not so long ago? They got raped, though, IIRC. 3-0 or something like that?

that was what 8 years ago now, and the point is teams like Liverpool and Manchester City should be wining thes with ease, yet never seem to perform.

And Rangers are out! :D
Historical night for Portuguese football! 3 teams in the QF! This is excellent for the coefficient. Liverpool are **** at the moment, sorry :( I watched most of the match, and tough Liverpoll was slightly superior, they are not what they used to be. tough im sure they'll rise again ;)

Ended up looking it up, was in '06 and was 4-0.

But I do get your point, and I do think City, but not Liverpool (They've had a **** season and they need to reorganise, they'll probably challenge for it next season), should be winning it. And, although a single player shouldn't take the blame, if Balotelli hadn't been sent off maybe City would still be in the competition.

However, I think English teams have done well, maybe not the ones you'd expect (Fulham, Boro).
