Coyle Leaves Burnley

Owen Coyle today resigned as Burnley Manager after a baord dispute with the Burnley Chairman Barry Kilby. According to inside sources, Coyle was quoted saying "It would be impossible to compete in the premier league with a squad of this size and stature, the board have not backed me financially despite me winning them promotion on a shoe string budget". It is believed Burnley are scoruging the market for a new Manager, Kilby said in his latest press conference "The board has a tight budget as well as the Manager, we know how tough the Premierleague can be but we need someone to keep us in the division on a tight budget, I believe it was a disgrace that Coyle criticised the current squad that he assembled and we fully believe that they will be able to compete at this level". The names being touted for the Burnley Manager position are Graeme Sounouss, Glenn Hoddle and Paul Jewell.

The tactic I am using for this game is Kris's Ancelotti Tactics, they can be found here on this thread

Unkown Argie takes Burnley Post

Background Information
Rudolf Martinez has been appointed Manager of Burnley after the resignation of Owen Coyle, he descision comes as a surprise for the Burnley fans and Media a like, Martinez never made it as a Professnial footballer as his father refused to let him sign for Boca Juniors when he was 18, instead, he was sent to Manchester University to study Sports Science where he learnt to speak English, after leaving University with first class honours, Martinez retuend to Argentina joined Boca Juniors as Fitness coach much to the the disgrace of his father. Martinez earned his coaching badges in Argentina and was soon Manager of Boca Juniors reserves. The Argie went to further his career by joining Ajax as a coach and was part of the coaching team that saw them win the European Cup in 1998. Martinez left Ajax is 2003 to become a free lance scout but returned to football with Roy Hodgson and became a coach for the Finnish national side. Martinez quickly follow Hodgson to struggling Fulham where he was appointed First team coach. Martinez left Fulham for Lancashire the summer after the clubs most succesful season in the top tier of English football.

The Argie said in his interview while being unveiled "I know I am not very well known in English or world football but I have had a successful coaching career, I have worked under some of the finest Managers in the game and learnt many things from them, I am very proud to take over a club with such great history in the game, I believe I can take Burnley back to the glory days of the 60's. It was sad to leave Fulham but I feel I have worked long enough in the game to make the step up, Burnley fans won't know much about me but they will once were 10 games into the season. I fully believe that with my expertise and with some hard work on the training field, the lads will be able to keep this team in the League.

Burnley Chairman Barry Kilby added "Martinez is a hungry young Manager who has surprisingly been in the game quite a long time, I am confident that he will keep us in the division and embrace the challenge ahead with dignity and confidence, the board have every faith in the team and he Manager to succeed".

Many bookmakers have tipped Burnley to be relagated and odds have shortened since the appointment of the new Manager, the media prediction is 19th so the young Argentine will have a point to prove.

Pre Season

After pre-season, Rudolf Martinez was very pleased with the results after he said "We had some tough games pre season, we looked to win them all and we pretty much did that, we did have a blip with the reserves but y'know we wouldn't want to shatter the reserves confidence before the start of the season, I was mightly pleased with the results against Benfica and Zaragoza and it has proved how important Turf Moor will be this season".

How is it real? I know Coyle might leave Burnley for Bolton but he hasn't argued with the board and got sacked :P.

Transfers

In an interview with SSN Martinez announced his delight of the players he attracted to the, he said "We have worked very hard to sign these players of the club, many of them young but will turn into amazing players at this level, some have already put in some quality performances at this level so I expect them to maintain that level of form, the likes of Jorgensen, Gunnarson and Addison will be crucial to how this season pans out. Lukovic offers much needed quality at left back while Wilson and Viera offer strength in depth, Stuabhuag will not feature in the first team this season as he is one for the future, Traore is a fantastic young player who I expect to develop into someone along lines of Shearer or Drogba, however he is own player so it his up to him to perform in training and on the pitch but the potential in this boy is outstanding".

I wouldn't be surprised I only have one player earning over 10k a week, the wage budget is ridicolously small.

Unfortunatley Elliot didn't fit into my system but he is always a player I've admired. He is quite old though so it got a decent amount of money for him.
