Jay Rodriguez becomes decent, i sold him for 5m in 2nd season

6 Miles Apart

After the game Burnley fans announced there dissapointment within the side, they were saddened to lose to local rivals Blackburn and fully expects the side to bounce back in the next few games, supporters spokesperson Graham Hall said "the fans were devastated by the result, we feel that we should be competing with teams like Blackburn and Wigan, we fully expect the team to fight back in the coming weeks".

League Cup 3rd Round
Everton 2 - 0 Burnley
Once again, the Clarets second string was fielded in the League cup, they started brightly before Mark Wilson got sent off for a dangerous challaenge, Brazilian striker Jo was quick to put Everton in front and then Everton's russian winger finished Burnley off just before half time, Burnley never threatened in second half with there strikers doing more defending than attacking.

Rudolf Martinez said "There is huge pressure for the boys to get a result against Villa on saturday, we cannot let the fans go home dissapointed again, I just hope the players realise this, I've said this before and I'll say it again, this is a marathon and not a sprint"

Burnley 2 - 1 Aston Villa
Paterson, Alexander
A sublime performance from Burnley saw them run out winners in this one, Jensen was keen to put his body on the line for everything that came his way, however he could not stop a Lukovic own goal when Jensen parried on to Lukovic from Ashley Young's corner, it hit the defenders back and fell over the goal line, however Burnley rallied on and the lively Martin Paterson got in behind the Villa defence to rifle one in with his right foot, the two sides enter half 1 a piece, in the second half, veteran Graham Alexander was brought on and end up scoring a sublime goal from 25 yards out to give Burnley the win, Burnley held on in the last ten minutes despite pressure from Villa.

Burnley midfielder Aron Gunnarson has returned to training after recovering from a niggle.

Burnley next game is against Liverpool, the press have announced it would be near impossible for Burnley to come away with a result.

Liverpool 3 - 0 Burnley
Burnley came away from the game with nothing but they still put in a credible performance, "sometimes you just can't beat the best teams how ever well you play" said Martinez. Liverpool went ahead through a Insua free kick which was nodded in by Torres, Brian Jensen was left embrassed when he scored an own goal and Dirk Kuyt won the game with a head from Insua's corner.

Burnley now find themselves in 10th place after 8 games, SSN caught up with Manager Rudolf Martinez who said "I am delighted with the current form the team is showing, Turf Moor will be vital to us this season as we aren't picking up many points away, I shall try my best to improve that but I can't make any promises, we are performing above expectations at the moment which will sure delight the board, fans and even us employee's alike". Good start to life at Burnley Jack, shame that your form has taken a slight dip in more recent games but sure that this is just a blip. Great results against Man City and Aston Villa (and good effort in the 3-4 against Arsenal), 10th place is a great platform to build from, you'll escape relegation easy mate (just 30 points to go! ;))

(+ I am gonna have to check out Kris' tactics!)

Burnley 0 - 1 Tottenham Hotspur
Burnley were torn apart in this game, they offered nothing in any side of the field, Spurs hit the woodwork three times in the first half via King, Defoe and Keane but struggled to find the net, Crouch's 93rd minute winner was enough to seal the win for Harry Redknapp Lilywhites.

Burnley 2 - 2 Fulham
Alexander, Blake
The two veterans really pulled it off for Fulham today, Alexander scored a penalty after Paterson was brought down in the box. Fulham leveled through a powerful finish from England striker Andy Johnson, Burnley thought they had won it when Blake scored in the 87th minute but Fulham rallied hard with Kamara coming up with the vital equaliser to take a point back to south west London, this was the second time in two matches that Burnley lost points in injury time.

Man United 4 - 0 Burnley
Typical game at Old Trafford, the side rolled over a died and United capitalised through Rooney, Anderson, Berbatov and Giggs.

Stoke 3 - 2 Burnley
Jorgensen, Guerrero
Stoke went two up before half time through Tuncay Sanli and then Jamican striker Ricardo Fuller doubled Stoke's lead, Burnley came out in the second half battling and Danish centre half Jorgensen managed to pull one back, Liam Lawrence increased Stoke's lead as Burnley continued to push Stoke, Guerrero got another one back for Burnley and Paterson spurned two chances that could of easily became equalisers.

Burnley are now suffering on a winless streak and Manager Rudolf Martinez will really need them to re-capture some early season form if they are able to get back on top, the pundits are once again tipping the Clarets to go down as the poor form continues.

Bonaventure Kalou has signed for Burnley on free transfer, the former Paris Saint Germain player signs a two year deal worth £1,500 a week, it is largely believed the player was brought in to help young Ivorian Lacina Traore adapt to life in England, it is believed that the youngster has been un able to settle at the club and the area so Martinez saw it as vital to bring Kalou in so they can keep there young star. Kalou is also the older brother of Soloman Kalou of Chelsea FC and boasts 53 caps for the Ivory Coast in which he scored 12 goals.

Revival?

Hull 0 - 0 Burnley
A battling performance from both sides hoping to beat the drop this season, Stephen Fletcher was denied his first premier league goal while Guerrero shined in attacking mid, Dean Marney hit the cross bar in the second half but Sebastien Viera did everything possible to prevent Hull from scoring, could of easily gone either way so a invaluable point will be crucial to Burnley's season.

After Sunday's draw against Hull, Burnley have found themselves gone six games without a win which game against Villa at Turf Moor, Manager Rudolf Martinez said "We've been working hard on the training field, we are not scoring enough goals at the moment, Traore and Fletcher need to gain some more confidence and the goals will come to them, I hope this slump ends soon because we need to reach our seasonal target of 40 points".

Burnley 1 - 0 Wolves
Rodriguez
Local boy Jay Rodriguez provided Burnley with a much needed win that pushed them slowly up the table, Wolves threated but once again Viera was solid in goal, Lacina Traore lashed a shot a goal that hit the woodwork in the second half but score remained one nil and Burnley took all three points, Rudolf Martinez looked delighted after the game as Burnley moved 5 points clear of the relegation zone.

In his post match interview, Rudolf Martinez said on SSN "I am delighted with the strength of character that the lads showed today, we needed a win and they went out and got it, I took a risk by playing Jay today and I am delighted that he got that goal as every point is crucial in this League, we are now only 25 points away from our target and we have 23 games to go so I am confident that we can stay up this season if we put a decent run of results together and keep a few more clean sheets".

Burnley have drawn Carlisle in the FA Cup third round, the fixture will be played at Brunton park on the 2nd of January 2010.

West Ham 2 - 1 Burnley
Fletcher
West Ham comfortably saw off Burnley at Upton Park, Italian striker Diamanti put the Irons ahead with a fantastic 25 yard strike, te lead was doubled when Mark Noble added another before half time, Valon Behrami shot hit the cross bar in the second half and then England centre half Upson was sent off, Burnley rallied which saw Stephen Fletcher get his first goal in English football and subsequently end his goal drought, however Burnley continued to pepper West Ham's goal but even with a one man advantage, Burnley failed to put another past Rob Green.

Mathias Jorgensen has been suspended for one game after picking up his 5th yellow card of the season against West Ham.

Chris Eagles has announced he wants to move to a bigger club, his agent Alan Dunworth told SSN "He feels that he needs to further his career, he wants to play for England and it isn't happening at Burnley, Chris wants to further his career as he doesn't see Burnley go anywhere fast". It is believed that Manager Rudolf Martinez is willing to let the youngster go as long as they can match the 5.5 Million price tag put on the player.

Today it is believed that Burnley's young starlet Chris Eagles is on his way out of the club after they accepted bids of 4.4 Million pounds from Aston Villa and Zenit St. Peterburg, it is up to the youngster to decide on which team he wants to play for now. It is believe 20% of the profit will go to Manchester United.

Burnley are hoping to get three points over out of form rivals Bolton, fans spokesperson Graham Hall said "We believe this is a realistic three points, Bolton are more out of from than us so it should be an ideal win for us, the team will have the full backing from us fans as always on Saturday".

Burnley 1 - 2 Bolton
McCann
Burnley took an early lead through Chris McCann which they sustained til half time, then Mustapha Riga got the equaliser, Jasskalian denied Fletcher at least 3 times with some outstanding saves, Bolton got a penalty in injury time which was saved by Viera but then Zat Knight nodded home from the corners that was created when the penalty was saved. Rudolf Martinez reacted furiosly at his sides abysmal display and stormed into the dressing room, Burnley drop to 15th in the League on 15 points.

Good result against Wolves, need to win them six pointers! Do you know who you've drawn in the FA Cup 3rd round yet?

Good results mate, unlucky vs Bolton and West Ham but the Wolves win was a great win.

The Eagle has flown

Young Burnley starlet has agreed a 4.4 Million pound move to Aston Villa, it is largely assumed that Rudolf Maritnez is looking for a replacements and the names are in the hat are Yapi Yapo of Swiss sides Young Boys and Somoza of Argentine side Velez.

The 'Beast' Brian Jensen has also been shown the door at Burnley, Jensen has been unable to cement a place in the first team after some outstanding performances from Sebastien Viera, Burnley have accepted bids from Danish side AGF and Hungarian side Debrecen, the fee believed to be involved is 500k. Burnley decided to cash after they decided the they did not want to renew Jensen's contract.

Birmingham 2 - 1 Burnley
Fletcher
Once again Burnley were undone, after dominating the first half and taking the lead, McLeish's side came out with fire in there belly as McFadden equalised with a penalty and then Chucho shot was parried by Viera and then put into his own net by Tyrone Mears. Once again Rudolf Martinez reacted with fury.

Brian Jensen has agreed a deal 500k deal with Debrecen, the goalkeeper will join the Hungarian side on January 1st.

Mathias Jorgensen ruled out for 6 weeks.

Burnley 0 - 1 Everton
Rodwell scores his first senior goal for Everton, Burnley outclassed....

Burnley lost there 4th game on the spot as they dropped to 17th place, many pundits say it will need a mangerial master class from Rudolf Martinez if the club manage to stay in the Premier League.

Chelsea 3 - 2 Burnley
Traore (2)
Chelsea took the lead thorugh a John Terry header but Traore equalised stright away, then the Ivorian got another to put Burnley ahead, Burnley maintained this lead until half time and then Cabanas scored twice in 10 minutes to take the points from Burnley grasp.

Afer the game Rudolf Martinez said "I am pleased with the performance from the team, if we continue to play like this, we shall start getting wins on the board again, I still believe we can beat relegation but it will be very tough".

Manchester City 3 - 1 Burnley
Eagles
Eurghhhh is my only comment

Burnley 0 - 0 Arsenal
A great result considering the abysmal run we've been on, we've had some very tough games in a shrot space of time and the team needs to recover, hopefully we the form will change at the start of 2010 or this club will be relegated.

Thanks for your comments and support guys, much appreciated I'm hoping for a much better second half of the season, reccomend any strikers or defenders?

Sunderland 0 - 1 Burnley
Paterson
Burnley got an amazing first away win of the season, Robbie Blake shot was parried to Paterson who rifled the ball into the net, the travelling away fans went mental as Burnley now move 4 points clear of relagation rivals Sunderland. Kenwyne Jones had a goal dissallowed but Burnley held on to victory and eventually claimed all 3 points.

Burnley next fixture is against Portsmouth who are one place abovet them in the League, it will be played at Turf Moor.

Wigan 2 - 1 Burnley
Traore
zzzzzzzzzzz.....

Burnley 5 - 2 Blackburn

Burnley made great advances away from the relegation zone after a 5-2 victory over local rivals Blackburn, Burnley Manager Rudolf Martinez said "I am delighted that we managed such a great feat, the lads were low on confidence before the game but now they have restored there credibility, they will hopefully findt he coming weeks a lot easier, I am proud to say they earnt there wages properly this week, I hope to see more of the same after this result, I'd also like to Jorgensen because his return showed how much we missed him today".

Glad to see you doing a story Jack, You know i like match reports myself so a story with them i'm sure to follow.I'm sure you will avoid the drop although personally i have found it easier to avoid the drop with a team i have got promoted than starting as a team like Burnley, Wolves ect the teams never fit my style of play and lack of funds means you cant even bring in players who do suit it until January when i've offloaded the enitre team.

Not sure if you still need a striker but you should look into Ceravolo if you do as you know from my story he has goals in him and for a relegation fighting team is solid, Hes currently At.Madrids top scorer on my game since i sold him to them with 15 in 18(4) and they just ran away with the spanish league so hes more that able to play at the top level too even managed to score past me in the champions league which was just a kick in the teeth really but at 1-2 million you really cant go wrong with him.

As much as Burnley haunt me on my game i'll be sure to follow.

Great storie mate, hope you will survive. Wish you luck ...
