ive always wanted the Lee Child "Jack Reacher" novels to be made into a film trilogy, the books are smart and in my opinion would make really good dark james bondesque films.
Anyone ever read any of the novels and agree?
Well I really like it, has a multi-linear narrative with loadsa stories and characters that interweave (don't know if any of his others do that, don't think I've actually seen any others by him). I had to watch it a couple of times to fully enjoy it (think its over 3 hours), ended up doing it for my Media A-level c/w. I'm sure you'll thinks its good as well.
Watched a couple of films today, Ghost Town & Front/Nixon.
Ghost Town was pretty dissapointing as im a big fan of Gervias (except from Extras). Was pretty run of the mill with some Gervais humour clearly ad-libbed. There was a slight twist near the end but it quickly twisted back. 6/10
I'm glad he didnt pull Tea Leoni as it would have made the film ludicrus was Gervais looked pretty terrible in it (worse than he does on tv etc) and obv Tea Leoni is hot
Frost/Nixon was a great film, defintly one of the films of the year. Not a whole lot of knowledge is required really to watch it, just a basic understanding of who Richard Nixon is and what the Watergate scandle entailed. Anyway, very good film, had its moments of humor as well (I prob lold, well chuckled to myself jsut as much as I did at the comedy, Ghost Town). Really enjoyed the way the stroy was told, with interviews acted out by the actors inbetween the telling of the actual events leading up the the interview and the interview itself. The very end where Nixon speaks to Frost alone gave it a .5 bump up to an 8.5/10 for me. Finally, I had no idea David Frost was such a playboy

Agree with Ghost Town, some of the humour was just Gervais all over, bit forced. Apparently there was a kiss scene but Gervais cut it as he thought it would spoil, he would be right.
Really want to see Frost/Nixon, saw trailer the other night.
Watched In Bruges tongiht. Was really surprised at how good it was. I got over the fact that Colin Farrell was in it pretty quickly, within the first 20 mins. Wasnt just the fact that I think hes a bit of a **** and a meh actro its more the fact I more know him as a celebrity than an actor which therefore makes it harder to get into a film when your thinking, thats colin farrel the drunken, heroin smoking irish *** machine. Anyway was a really good film, plot was meh but ti was really funny. Not the usual crappy American blockbuster humour that you see in action/thrillers and not the stupid arty humour of European cinema, was jsut funny.
Watched the new mummy film yesterday, was poor to say the least took a while to get going, how can thier son be so old when they havent aged since the last films ? also once the mummy did appear he had a small role with really only one or two fights scenes, a poor showing for what was once a good series of films.
