Whoops no injuries, but not making it into the match-day squad either. That's painful. Need to step it up!

Not to complain, but you should think about giving a goalkeepers a run of, let's say, 10 games. Then switch Thames and me. GK's need consistency to perform, you don't need to rotate us so much. Let Thames play 10 games, then me. I think that's for best.

Both keepers are performing well, most of the conceded goals are down to defensive mistakes. I agree on the idea of consistency, but while I'm still finding the best combination of players, I'm moving the line up about to see what works.

That was down to a knock picked up with Andorra, Post is just starting to return to acceptable fitness levels after a couple of games for the U21s.

Keep in Thunderfoot and all will be well ;)

Teamsheet:
STALYBRIDGE (A) (23/9/14)

(4-2-3-1 WIDE)

REDGRAVE

BANANA BURHEIM MANBEARPIG FIREBIRD

YAKIN II PALMER

POST BIGGUN BAKER

GOYZUETA

Bench: THAME, SCHWARZENEGGER, DANCE, LITMANEN, ROBERTS

Burheim returns for the injured Thompson, and Goyzueta returns up front. Biggun is given another chance at CAM, whilst Hogg's injury means Baker shifts back to LW. Yakin II is kept in and needs to build on his impressive showing last match. Post takes the armband in the absence of the main captains.

It took until the 25th minute for the deadlock to be broken, courtesy of a placed finish past the keeper by Palmer. He latched on to a delightful through ball by Goyzueta, and finished calmly. A curled ball by Banana in the 39th minute found stand in captain Post, who seized the opportunity and beat the keeper at the post to cap a memorable day for the player. It got even better for him 4 minutes later, when he tackled a defender in the box, and slotted past the helpless keeper.

A ranged shot from the edge of the area beat Redgrave to reduce the arrears slightly, before Post was subbed to a standing ovation. He may have been just short of the hattrick, but having only just reached required fitness levels, he was always unlikely to play the full 90. Litmanen came on as his replacement.

A superb finish from Goyzueta from an unlikely angle put us 4-1 ahead, so we looked at resting players with the FA Cup in mind. "Arnie" came on for Burheim, whilst Dance replaced the impressive Palmer. That came back to bite us though when Manbearpig went off injured; Yakin II was the one to shift to the back line.

Banana curled a cross onto Litmanen's head to make it 5, in what was the last major incident of the match. With the FA Cup just days away, there are definitely a few players making cases for their inclusion.

Ratings: Redgrave 7.1, Banana 9.2, Manbearpig 7, Burheim 6.8, Firebird 7.8, Palmer 7.7, Yakin II 8.6, Post 8.7, Biggun 7.1, Baker 7.6, Goyzueta 9. Subs: Schwarzenegger 6.6, Dance 6.5, Litmanen 7.2

NOTE. DUE TO LAPTOP REBOOTING, THIS MATCH NO LONGER EXISTS.

After a few pretty average performances, Banana suddenly steps up and has a stormer - hope for Thunderfoot it doesn't happen too often ;)

It's given me a few problems for selection, much like Whyte/Firebird has

Two goals and stand-in captaincy. Solid display! This team should basically already be up in the L2/L1 I guess.

I think the Kazakhstani playmaker Iva Biggun is still adapting to life in England….

Yeah, around that level I would suspect, doesn't necessarily mean they'll always play like it though.

Another solid performance there. Must say that I was nervous when I saw that I was paired with a bird, a pig and a banana in the back 4!

Well, all I gotta say, is good and bad. The good was obviously the brilliant 4 goal game and the Welsh team as well (2 in 2) The rest is, bad. At least I had no injuries! And I don't get good goalscorers ALL the time! :P

Have we good some decent coaches at the club to help with development?
