Fellow Readers,

This site, as much as i love it... Has to be criticised in some areas... Most of the site is brilliant and beautiful.. About 3% drives me mad.. I'm here to make a few little suggestions to the site and point out the problems...

Problems with Fm-base.co.uk: XD

• The site goes down too much (as we all know)
• The annoying advertisements (you will see what i mean)
• Sometimes download links do not work.
• Threads get closed without awareness by moderators.
• The site needs more moderators.
• The site needs more tools for users!

Suggestions:

• A live chatbox
• Thread Tools like 'Bumps', 'Delete comment' and 'remove thread'.

Site Going Down
There's nothing much I can really. I have limited guests to 1 download each before having to sign up. But there are still an awful lot of files being downloaded at one time. That's the main reasons for me making the 9,000 Club Logos into a torrent file so it wouldn't effect the FM-Base server.

Advertisements
It's already been said but you can hide them by clicking the little - sign in the top right of their container.

If people report the broken links to me in a PM or Email I will try and fix them.


More Moderators
Obviously it would help if there were a few more moderators but for me there hasn't been any members who have really stood out as a responsible person in who we can trust. JP Woody stood out for me, Kris & Lee and that's why we asked him to help us out. There hasn't really been anybody else.

Just because some people are active and post a lot it doesn't make them right to be a moderator. Apart from JP Woody, the rest of the Admin & Moderating staff have been members of FM-Base for 3-7 years, no just a few weeks/months.

Chat Box
It's something I considered in the past but ultimately decided not to as I don't really see the benefit. It will mainly filled with spam chat and the 1 or 2 people who want to use it to ask a question will not be heard. They are on a forum anyway, they can easily ask in the help thread.

Bumping Threads
If a thread is good enough it will come back round. Why not post a useful comment if your thread hasn't been replied in a while. Surely that way it will spark more useful conversation. Instead of just annoying people with the same old message that has been and gone before.

Users Controlling Their Own Threads
This would be good to have. But could also be very easily abused. It's just good that I don't have to make a decision on whether to have it as it's not possible to do on this forum software anyway.

Secondly, remove post count, it serves no purpose other than people occasionally making a post just to say '1000 posts wooooo!!'.

I think I actually removed them before but people weren't happy. I am thinking of doing it again though and just keeping them on the members profiles.

I remember in fm09 when i click on "players" at the top it opended up a new thing with players that were good and what league you should sign them for and how they were rated by other members of fmbase.
I think there should be one for fm10.

A spam thread for the people who do want to talk ****

I would like to allow people to choose colours but it's too tricky to implement at the moment. In a few months I will be upgrading FM-Base to the next version of this forum software and I will need to do a complete redesign. If I code it better I will be able to introduce a color changer.
