Looks like I've become the 12th man for SKC! Also, at this rate I may be the future USMNT captain too. Future is bright for sure.

August Updates:
benficafs.png

Benfica go one more step forward to reinforce their team ahead of the Champions League campaign by signing German former international, Piotr Trochowski, for an estimated deal worth up to $5,000,000. The season did start early for Benfica and they saw their way through the first phase of qualifying by beating Bronby, then on the second phase of the qualifying, they lose both games against Genoa. They will now show their trade in the Europa League. In the league though, they start brightly by winning their first 2 matches than losing to Braga 1-0 away from home.
bragax.png

The first 2 games of the season sees Braga go head to head with FC Porto and Benfica. Losing to Porto 2-1 and winning vs Benfica 1-0 at home. They then beat Bromby in both games, yes, the same team that Benfica kicked out of the Champions League. Braga beat them in the Europa League Qualifier though. Morten has started the 4 games the Braga have played in. Assisting 1 goal and putting in a MotM performance. Already showing who's boss in defense in the early season.
sportingkc.png

Kansas City have hit a rough patch as of late. Drawing 3 games and losing 2. This hasn't dropped them down the order though. With 2 games in hand, they are 1 point ahead of 4th placed Houston Dynamo. If they do well in the next few weeks, they should be able to secure the playoff spot. They have 4 of their next 5 games at home before they close off the season with 3 away matches. So its a crucial time for Sporting KC. Jose has done fairly decent so far this season. 21 appearances with 1 goal under his name with an average rating hovering on 7.00.
manchestercityu.png

So should we start the hype train once again this year? Why not? A start of a 5-game winning streak. Beating both Sheffield and Tottenham in the Premier League, Zenit in the Champions League Qualifier and to top it all off, a 3-2 win over Barcelona during the Euro Super Cup. So say what u want to say and think what you like. This team is...for real? Who knows, a new manager in town, just like the year before when they went on a 26 or so unbeaten run only to see their EPL Season fall to pieces. Benji and Joe both made 1 appearance each in the EPL. They made 3 extra transfers all going out of Manchester City. Balotelli has been loaned out to Dortmund and Donovan has gone to Dortmund as well but on a permanent deal. The 3rd player to leave was Michael Dawson, going to Lyon on loan. That's a total of 5 players on loan for Manchester City.
tottenhamiy.png

Tottenham have qualified for the Europa League after beating Anorthosi 6-0 on aggregate. Only hick up was their defeat against Manchester City. Andrew Page still hasn't made an appearance yet. Both Corluka and Jenas have moved from Tottenham in August. Jermain Jenas moved to Stoke and Corluka moved to Porto.
chivas.png

Chivas, the pride of Mexico...or not. Bottomtoucher has made 6 appearances as well as getting 1 goal for Chivas to help move to 2nd place in the league with 4 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss. 1 point away from Santos Laguna in Apertura League. In the CONCACAF Champions League, they are off to a flyer scoring 9 goals in their first 2 matches and conceding only 1.
leciestercity.png

With James Beadle the only left in a '2nd' division team, he has decided all of a sudden to up his game. In 2 league appearances, he has scored 2. Unfortunatly, the lost the Carling Cup 2nd Round tie to Oldham 1-0 away from home. Dissapointing outing for Leicester there. In the league, its more the same. Up and down and they were not able to string together of atleast 2 games unbeaten. They are 2-1-2 and placed 15th in the nPower Championship. Early days, still they would have liked to be higher.
racingh.png

With 6 players out and 6 new players in (Kevin Olimpa, 25 year old keeper, being the newest member to Racing, joining in from Valencia), many wonder what Racing would look like come the new season. Well, in the preseason friendlies, they went unbeaten in 3 games and their first match of La Liga versus Granada, they beat them in an exciting thriller that ended in a 4-2 at home for Racing Santander. Albert Molist Mora did make his first ever Senior team depute in his career by coming on as a sub...and expensive sub at that.

Other News:
- Ruud Gullit has retired from football. After an impressive career that spanned almost 2 decades, Ruud had gone to manager 5 clubs. Chelsea, Newcastle, Feyenoors, Los Angeles, Terek in the Russian League. He was even the Netherland National Team's Youth Coach for about a year. Named World Player of the Year on 2 occasions, won 1 Ballon d'Or for his efforts and even won the Serie A's Player of the Year award.

So this is it for August ladies and gents. Be sure to follow for September updates coming soon. And a bombshell of a news coming next update too. Some will be sad about it, some will be delighted...that is up to you. :D

This update best becoming soon.. you really left it at a cliffhanger havent you!
Has Leicester got a new manager yet?
A great start from me by the way :)

September Updates:
The big news of September that shocked the footballing world, both came from the EPL in a matter of weeks. Both Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson have called it a career. This came as a great shock from both sets of supporters. Maybe Sir Alex wasn't much of a surprise seeing how he was getting older and didn't much to win anymore. For the Arsenal fans, the news of Arsene's retirement was a bombshell. Many wonder if his legacy and youth system will stay seeing how so many young talent emerged from the academy and how good he was at signing very young talent to raise through the ranks of the team.

Sir Alex Ferguson had one of the most amazing careers both as a player and a manager, more so as a manager. As a player, he made total of 317 appearances and scoring 171 goals. Not many might know this, but Sir Alex won the Scottish Championship on 3 different occasions as a player with 2 different teams, St. Johnston, Falkirk. Where he will be remembered though is his managerial success both at Aberdeen and Manchester United. After 35 years of hard work, Ferguson's Trophy Cabinet has been filled with 52 Titles. Not to forget the countless amount of times he came close to winning more. He will be missed as a manager and a personality in football.

Arsene Wenger had a rather harder time, yet was as much of an icon for Arsenal in the time he was their manager during his 17 year spell. He brought that beautiful fluent football to the EPL that not many had seen before. Yet he was criticized for his lack of strength of his players in some instances. But no one could argue that he was a **** of a manager and many believe if he was part of a club where transfer policies weren't as strict, he would have built better teams.

In 17 years with Arsenal, he has won 11 trophies and came runner up on as many occasions. If he had won them instead of coming runner up, he would have been regarded one of the best of all time. No one can say he wasn't one of the best though, well respected for his influence to play the beautiful game in a beautiful way. I for one think that Arsenal playing at its best, is even more beautiful than Barcelona's taki-taka. Its a matter of taste though, and Mr. Arsene Wenger and I share a common taste.

The EPL will most both these characters and their head-to-head matches and trash talking. It will be time for both to sit together now and talk about their history over a glass of wine...red wine is what Sit Alex would prefer. So who takes their place now? Arsenal have signed Sinisa Mihajlovic to run the team while Manchester United have signed Marcelo Biesla.

chivas.png

Bottomtoucher in September had played two games that saw different results. The first one was in the CONCACAF Champions League versus Vancouver when they won the game by a thunderous scoreline of 5-0 in Vancouver where Reginald was seen as the Player of the Match. Chivas Manager, Real, said Bottomtoucher was a class above the rest during that match, who had also scored 2 goals in the game for Chivas. Now in the next Champions League match, Chivas took on Philadelphia. This time, Bottomtoucher showed his lack of maturity by getting sent off with a straight red card that cost them the game, losing 2-1 at home. The team manager did say that the indiscipline wont hurt Bottomtoucher's chances of coming back into the starting line-up by saying that Reginal is an important member of the team and will come back into the line-up ASAP.
leciestercity.png

Leicester City...the team without a Manager. Yes, they have started the season without a manager and it seems that the board is happy to stay that way until they find the right choice...though many of the fans are starting to revolt at the idea of going into a season without a captain to stir the ship. Leicester haven't done a bad job though. Moving up to 14th place by the end of September with 1 win and 2 draws and 1 loss during the month. James Beadle hasn't added any goals to his tally though, but he had played 2 of the past 4 games.
sportingkc.png

Sporting Kansas City haven't fared well last month. Winning 1 game, drawing 1 and losing 2 more. This hasn't effected there position in the standings, but has placed them in a bad spot. 4th place Toronto FC have now 1 game in had and are only 2 points behind. While 5th place DC United are also 2 points behind, but have 2 games in hand. Their next 4 matches, the last 4 of the season, will be very crucial. 1 home game, versus DC United and 3 away games, with the last game against Toronto FC, which could be the deciding game to see who goes into the Play-offs. What a finish to this season this is becoming. Jose Gainza still hasn't become a regular started, making only 4 starts and coming on as a sub on 20 other occasions. The Standings for the MLS will be at the bottom of the page for you all to see.
tottenhamiy.png

Tottenham haven't started the season well. Placed in 9th position with 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses. They are still in the Europa League where they were placed in a fairly easy group with their only real test coming against Fiorentina, drawing their first match 1-1 away from home. In the Carling Cup, they have made it to the 4th round and will take on Sunderland on the final day of October. Andrew Page still hasn't made an appearance.
manchestercityu.png

Manchester City's Benji and Joe Williams have, this far into the season, made 2 appearances each. Joe Williams had a hard match where he did play good, but overall was decent enough. While Benji has been very good. As for the team, they are now in 11th position in the EPL with 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss. They played 1 less game than the rest of the league and 1 win will see them propel up the league table to 4th or 5th spot. So nothing major here, just a hitch to their start of the season. They lost their first match of the Champions League 2-0 away at Malaga, but then came back to beat Dortmund 2-0 at home.
racingh.png

After losing their 2nd week fixture, Racing Manger has decided to play young Molist Mora into the action and since than have drawn 3 games and lost 1. Even though its still early in the season, Racing will need extra power in offence to help the rock solid defense where both games that were lost were 0-1 results.
bragax.png

Braga again have started the season with force as they now sit in 2nd place with 5 wins and 1 loss. Scoring 9 goals and conceding 1. Morten Jonsson has be inspirational to the team both in Liga ZON Sagreb and in Europa League. Making 7 appearances already, he has 1 assist and 2 MotM awards. None more important than the match vs Tel Aviv away from home in Israel when Jonsson was the architecht for the game tying goal. Bringing much awarness to the media by saying he was the best player on the pitch for Braga and impress all the footballing pundits. 'The Boss' would be proud of him.
benficafs.png

Benfica might be 4th in the table, but they are only 2 points away from Braga and 3 away from Porto who are 1st in the league after 6 matches played. That 1 loss in their record coming from Braga. They are also drawn into an easy group in the Europa League with their toughest oppenents being Everton. Jarl Horak has made 1 subsitute appearance this season, and in that appearance, he might not have scored, but did get an assist.

-----
I dont know if you guys think the Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger is such big news, but oh well. Each one for his own. lol. It didn't affect any of the players in the story cause no one is in any of the teams, but surely it will effect the EPL whether in the short or long term. For now, Manchester United are still dominating the league, but what the new manager will do is still in the air. As for Arsenal, they are still in 4th place for now with 1 loss.

Here is the MLS Standings with just 4 games to play for Sporting KC.

Bottomtoucher you douchebag!!!! Hero to villan in the space of two games. Maybe that shows some serious inconsistancy on his part....

A really think Bottomtoucher will be the player for the team in the future...until a European team comes in and sweeps him away.

What the.... Still no manager? What are Leicester playing at?

Why need a manager? Let's see how things go from now. I think there's an assistant manager, forgot to check. Let me get back to you on that.

October Updates:
bragax.png

Morten Jonsson again shines for Braga in a 1-0 win over Fenerbahce. This wasn't the first time Jonsson is seen as the best player on the field. Its already his 3rd MotM performance and has already tallied 2 assists in 11 appearances this season. The beauty of all this? All those accolades have come with all Europe watching the Europa League. Someone say bright lights?
sportingkc.png

Sporting Kansas City could keep hold of their 3rd place play-off spot. They had won enough games to be challenging for 3rd...but the losses just piled up. Jose Gainza had a decent season for Sporting KC, making 5 starts and 22 substitutes. 1 goal scored and a rating average of just under 7 during the time. The good news is the vastly improved team that finished dead last when comparing both conferences. This season, they were knocking on the door to make the play-offs.
benficafs.png

Jarl Horak hasn't seen much time at the start of this season. Making only 2 appearances. Not enough minutes to get a rating for his play, but enough time to make 2 assists. Benfica has lost their last 2 games for the first time since losing 3 in a row vs Genoa and Braga. Losing now to Everton in Europa League and Academica in Liga ZON Sagreb, which will cost them as the season goes on. Sitting now 4th just behind Braga.
chivas.png

Chivas have qualified to the Quarter-Finals of the CONCACAF Champions League by topping their group with 5 wins and a 2-1 loss when Bottomtoucher got sent off. 22 goals for and 4 goals against. A whopping 18 goal advantage. The draw will take place in December to see who they will face next. In the Mexican Apertura League, Chivas are now sitting 3rd in the league with only 2 point separating the top 5 teams. Jaguars, who are 4th, are in best position as they have 1 game in hand. Chivas could have taken top spot in the past 2 matches, but the Champions League might have proven too tiring with the distance traveled. They are still in Play-Off though, so no wrong doing there. As for Bottomtoucher, he might have been good in the Mexican League this far, but he has been a dominant force in the Champions League, 5 games played with 3 goals and 1 MotM performance. Raising his tally to 13 games played, 4 goals scored and 1 assist, 1 MotM and the famous red card that cost his team the perfect Group Stage record.
leciestercity.png

More solid performances by James Beadle for Leicester City. City though are still hovering mid-table and haven't made any ground. James Beadle now has 2 goals in 8 appearances. Oh and still no manager...what's going on?
tottenhamiy.png

Andrew Page has started to show his passing skills for the Tottenham faithful with 2 assists in as many games for Spurs. Even though they have been substitutes, Andrew Page has taken the chance by the horn and made the most of it. Many are wondering if David Moyes will give the youngster more chances to showcase more of his talent in the near future. For now though, he is progressing nicely in the team. Spurs have been on a 6-game win streak and next up is the London Derby versus Arsenal.
manchestercityu.png

Manchester City haven't been doing well under new manager Martin Jol this season. Dropping to 9th in the league and already collecting 2 losses along the way after 8 matches played. Concidering who are ahead of them (The likes of Cardiff and Wigan), many thought that Manchester City would have been doing much better. What's more worrying is the loss against Wolves last weekend in the Carling Cup. They are still in the Champions League though and still got a chance. Winning 1 game and losing 2...with only 3 points, they are still only 2 points behind the leaders Malaga and Inter who are top with 5 points each. A group that has proven to be tougher then it looked. Benji and Joe Williams still have only made 3 appearances each. Rumors has it that maybe The Boss is looking for a new place for both his youngsters...most likely premature talk at this stage of the season.
racingh.png

October hasn't been a positive month for Racing. Winning their first match of the month, since then, they have gone a 3-game losing streak and losing their 3rd match vs Recreativo, which was a Cope Del Rey 4th Round 1st Leg match. They only lost 0-1 at home, so they will have to wake up in the return leg. Molist Mora hasn't been doing bad either, playing 9 matches in total and has been keeping his disciplin in check by not picking up any cards after 14 fouls. Racing hasn't been doing quite so well in La Liga either, 14th in the La Liga might be mid-table, but they are really close to releagation zone, 2 points lower then them. Than again, Valencia are 15th.

Other News:
- Pep Guardiola has quit his job with Internazional de Milan and has taken the Spain National Team position full time. The reasons behind his change of mind about Inter are still unknown but speculation has it that he was having problems with the board room. Even though Inter were 4th in the table when he quit, they were still in contention to win Serie A...who Roma have been dominating by going unbeaten in the first 9 matches (8 wins and 1 draw).

Getting my chance at Tottenham :D hopefully get to play some part in the big derby, and help us get into the Champions League perhaps!

November Updates:

chivas.png

Chivas make it into the 2nd season running. Finishing the Apertura unbeaten at home and 3rd in the league. First round was against Morelia. Copy to their last Clausura Play-offs, they lost they 1st leg away from home 2-0. Once back in Estadio Omnilife, Chivas ran wild on their visitors beating them 3-0 to send their fans home in festive moods. Next on the list for the Semi-Finals, Santos Laguna. For once, Chivas went away from home and didn't lose the game and drew 1-1 giving them an easier 2nd leg compared to recent times. Bottomtoucher scored 1 of the 3 goals when playing the home match in the play-offs. Starting to shine and show up in the big matches.
bragax.png

In November, Morten Jonsson becomes the first of the 'The Boss' generation to make an International Appearance and receive a cap for his troubles. Looking tired but happy, Jonsson the new Danish star was quick to thank his National Side's manager, Leonardo Jardim, the chance to rise to new career heights. Jardim was so impressed with his game, that he gave him a second cap later on in the month. Morten Jonsson, welcome to International Football. As for his career with Braga, his team are happy with the way things are going, losing only 2 games all season in all competition. Braga's rising star Jonsson, has made 15 appearances for Club and Country this season. Up and away from here young lad.
leciestercity.png

Leicester City couldn't get a worse news than the one they got midway through the month of November. James Beadle has been sidelined for 2 months after suffering a lower back stress fracture while training with England's U-21 team ahead of their friendly match against Rep. of Ireland. Beadle has been City's arguably one of their top players this season and it will be interesting how the team will fare without his services. The signs haven't been positive, the team has lost every match since his injury and have dropped to 23rd in the league. Hopefully he will come back as strong and sooner than later.

Other News:

- Not much going on around the world, things have stabilized in general. The only real movers were Manchester City moving from 9th to 4th. But what ever. Benji and Joe still haven't received any extra time on the pitch.

- FIFA Ballon d'Or short list has been made public. Here are the players topping the list:
Sergio Aguero - Manchester City
Cristiano Ronaldo - Real Madrid
Fernando Torres - Chelsea
Andres Iniesta - Barcelona
Lionel Messi - Barcelona *
Wayne Rooney - Manchester United
* 2012 winner and 4 time defending FIFA Ballon d'Or Award Winner.

- Messi is, again, tipped to win the World Player of the Year Award for the second year running after winning it in 2012 ahead of teammates David Villa and Xavi.

1. Forgot to mention that Tottenham DID beat Arsenal in the Derby 2-0. But Andrew Page didn't make an appearance in the game.
2. CONCACAF Champions League draw will take place 11th of December.
