February Updates:
Manchester City have hit a mega wall. After going unbeaten through-out the first half of the season, have now stumbled to fifth place in the EPL behind Liverpool even though they have 1 game in hand. Guus Hiddink hasn't had the easiest of patches as of late and will look to rectify his team's bad form of late in the Europa League when they take on Benfica in the Round of 16. As for Joe Williams and Benji, they haven't played any games this month. They are still in the running for the FA Cup as they will be replaying their match against Middlesborough, which ended 1-1 at The Riverside Stadium.
It gets worse for Andrew Page and his teammates. Andrew has played 16 matches this far. Scoring a goal and making 2 assists. Average a rating well over 7 over that span. The team has been as of late. Going down to 22nd in the nPower Championship league table. Amassing 7 wins, 12 draws and 13 losses on the way. Promotion surely to follow if they continue that way. A sign for Andrew Page to move forward.
Sporting Kansas City will be starting their season against DC United later on the month. A new season, a new goal. Will they make the playoffs? Tune in.
Morten Jonsson's performance ratings has been hovering around 6.5 this year after 15 appearances. Braga, sitting in 3rd behind Porto and Sporting, will be facing Sporting in the Semi-Finals of the Portuguese Cup later in the month of March. Braga have been in good shape lately, winning 9 of their last 12 matches in all competitions.
Benfica have hit, what it seems, the jackpot. Since joining his new club, Jarl Horak has made 3 substitution appearances. All the while finding the back of the net on 2 occasions and averaging a rating of 7.50. No wonder why Benfica were so eager to welcome this young talent to their ranks. Patience is a virtue as they say, even though his arrival is too little too late seeing how Porto are running away with the League. Benfica sit 4th in the table behind Braga. In the domestic cup though, Benfica have been drawn against their fiercest rivals, Porto, in the semi-finals. Winner takes on either Sporting or Braga. Thus creating a potential of the first ever head to head match-up between 2 of
The Boss' young gems.
Bottomtoucher keeps putting up solid numbers for Chivas. Guadalajara now sit in 4th place with 1 game in hand, which if they win, will propel them into 3rd place tied on points with Morelia, the Apertura Champions. The Clausura has started steadily for Chivas. 4 wins and 3 losses. Just over 0.500 winning percentage will have to be bettered if they would want to catch Tigres. By the way, Bottomtoucher was averaging a rating of 7 before getting injured that will sideline him for 2 weeks with a MCL Strain. Nothing very serious, so Chivas will be putting him on the shelf until fully fit.
Busiest player of the lot. 25 appearances, 3 goals, 6 assists and a rating average of 7.22 in all competition. Surely a sign for higher ranked teams to try and take him into their camps. Seeing how Leicester City keep slipping down the table. They now sit 19th with 38 points....only 5 points ahead of Nottingham Forest, who sit in 22nd place.
The Rock in the back four of Barcelona 'B', Molist Mora, has made 19 appearances for his team providing them with 2 assists and 1 MotM performance. Barcelona are deep into negotiations with their young player and his agent, The Boss, to renew his contract and give him a professional contract that is acceptable to both parties.
