Oakes fails first task

Holland-v-Scotland-001.jpg

Daniel Oakes failed today to get his first win as england manager when they came up against a very strong Holland side at The Amsterdam Arena. Klaas Jan Huntelaar was the man to cause England some real problems today coming away with two goals. Michael Owen and Gabby Agbonlahor scored what proved to be consolation goals for England.

I am very disappointed with our defeat today. We did not play like I know we can play and will need to sort our defence out for the qualifying games. The consolation is that is only a friendly and I was experimenting with the squad. I believe that this is just a hiccup on the road to a very successful period for this great nation.

Oakes keeps same squad

After a less than impressive performance in the loss to Holland last month, Daniel Oakes has shockingly announced exactly the same squad that have been called up to face Slovenia in a friendly and Croatia in a World Cup qualifier. This means that Stoke's Ryan Shawcross has received another call up as well as the goalscorers in Amsterdam, Gabby Agbonlahor and Michael Owen.

Daniel Oakes said:
I am very happy to announce the same squad again for these wo matches. I did not see any players that massively impressed me and Rio Ferdinand is still injured. This is why I have recalled the same squad and I am fully confident that we have enough quality to win our next two matches.

Richards and King forced to be replaced due to injury

England manager Daniel Oakes has been forced to withdraw Micah Richards and Ledley King from his England squad to take on Slovenia and Croatia. Richards has been ruled out for 7 weeks whereas King is out for 6 weeks. Gary Cahill and Gary Neville have been called up and Gary Cahill will make his debut if he features in any part of one of the games.

Daniel Oakes said:
It is a shame for Micah and Ledley to be out as they are both strong defenders. However, I am very happy with my replacements and think they can do a more than suitable job.

Miserable draw disappoints the nation

England fans were bitterly disappointed today after manager Daniel Oakes' tactical change failed. The England players did not look interested all match and it took a plucky effort from Ashley Young near the end to grab a draw from Slovenia at Wembley. With John Terry and Rio Ferdinand both out, Ryan Shawcross and Gary Cahill failed to step up to the plate.

I am very disappointed with an apalling result today. I will be making big changes in the games to come as we need a massive shake up in the squad. There was a big lack of effort here today.

England slump to disgusting defeat

Darijo_Srna_celebra_506996a.jpg

Darijo Srna guided home a penalty to seal a victory over Daniel Oakes' England side. England took the lead but after that never looked like challenging for a goal. It is believed that England are not having much success playing under Daniel Oakes' winger tactic and it is understood that he will go back to his more central approach.

Daniel Oakes said:
We are playing dreadfully at the moment and I am struggling to motivate the team. Our best player, Wayne Rooney, is very low on confidence and is, as well as everybody else showing a lack of effort. I will definitely be changing to my more central tactic and some wingers will miss the international call ups.

If Football doesn't come home, I will go home

Fresh off the press this morning, England manager Daniel Oakes held an exclusive interview with Sky Sports News.

Daniel Oakes said:
I have had a very indifferent start as England manager, one I expected to have started a lot better. The players are playing without confidence and passion. If this does not improve by next summer, I will leave England. If we do not succeed in lifting the World Cup this summer, I will leave England and retire from football. I believe if I cannot help us lift the trophy we have desired after all these years, I have not done what I have come here to do. At the moment, I am no better than the wolly with the brolly. That is all for now. Good night.

From the story point of view, if we dont lift the World Cup, I will finish the story :'(

crouchkb%20(2).jpg

Manager Daniel Oakes announced many changes in his team for the forthcoming games against Ukraine and Belarus. Peter Crouch was the main player to be recalled, in place of veteran Michael Owen. Shaun Wright Phillips was the highest profile player to miss the cut and it proved a shock to many. Joleon Lescott has also been recalled, after recovering from injury. The full list is shown below.

I am pleased with my selection, but there again, I always say that. I believe the changes needed to be made and Peter has got a very good goalscoring record for his country. I have decided to leave Shaun out because he has not impressed me recently and I do not see him fitting into the new system.
