What a defining couple of months for our season. We have left February in a terrible state; 11 points behind Manchester City in the title race, out of the FA Cup, out of the Capital one cup and after our poor away performance to Ajax basically out of the champions league. The most worrying stat over these two months is that we have only managed two clean sheets, something that really needs addressing.

- The most improved and arguably best performer over the past two months has to be Bilal Basacikoglu, close to being sold last season he has proven his worth.

- Aboubakar was away on African Cup of Nations from January 15th and missed some pivotal games, he marked his comeback however with two goals against Liverpool.

-Munir and Munian have been huge disappointments.

Premier League Thoughts For This Month?
11 points separate us and the league leaders, we do have a game in hand but that is away to Manchester United and I do not believe we will pick up any points on that trip. 2nd Place for three seasons in a row will be a huge kick in the teeth but it looks like it may be the case with 13 games to go.

A dreadful performance away from home, the sliverlining is the away goal. Hopefully we can salvage our pride and win at home. I am confident we can win 3-0 at home but it will be a tough ask from the lads.

We should have beaten Liverpool at home as we tested their keeper on many occasions. They scored from a set piece and held onto the lead.

CAP CUP SEMI FINAL : 2ND LEG AWAY - 1-4 LOSS

An absolutely terrible away performance from the lads, partly down to my formation selection but that is no excuse. We opted for a more defensive 4-1-2-2-1 as we were 3-1 ahead from the first leg but it didnt pay off and we were destroyed by Abe's men. A quick change of formation back to our main set up and we did manage a goal back but it was too much to ask from the lads.

Remy Cabella was probably my best player for two seasons but this season he has found himself on the bench. We is a fantastic player but much like Juan Mata during his time at chelsea didn't work hard enough defensively and didn't fit into my new 4-3-2-1 system. I would have kept him but the oppertunity to sign Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Bayern came up and we needed to cash in some chips to make the transfer viable. Thank you for the memories Cabella, you will be missed and good luck.

An absolute beast of a player, he will be the hub of my team for next season.

It is a shame that I have used up all my transfers for next season and I have regrets over signing Will Melia, even though he is an english wonderkid / fantastic prospect. Will Melia still has alot of developing to do before I can use him in a serious role and will most likely be loaned out for the majority of next season. If I could turn back time I would have held off his signing and brought in another striker because Aboubakar is away on AFCON during January and we struggle without a proper striker.

Some good performances this month . Gutted to be out of the europa league . One month to go till the end of the season will be glad to see the end of this season and hopefully keep hold of my job and move onwards next season.

After a less than impressive season Everton have sacked Rob after two years in charge. 'I will be back' Rob said in his final press conference after he heard the boards decision. Rob knew he was close to the axe after his team finished 10th in the premier league.

Bookies have predicted that Robs next club will either be Aston Villa, West Ham or Crystal Palace.

"This is all im saying on the matter we got to 2 semi finals last season and this year things didnt quite go to plan we had some tough injuries and the performances werent up to scratch all season so i understand why i was sacked but they should of kept faith. moving on please"

"They stood out to me out of all the teams I could choose from and its not a bad set up some good players i have.


"What are your targets next season?"
"Its got to be a good cup run semis or final capital at least and for the league mid table from 11th to 8th anything else is a bonus.

I must admit i had this one down as a defeat but my boys were great out there against abes strong and forever improving swans.


SEASON REVIEW

The start of the season i was at everton and early on things werent going well a poor start in the league early exit out both cups we couldnt string a good run of wins together away form was woeful. In the end i was sacked 2 games from the end it wasnt a surprise.

My season ended and west brom still unbeaten as manager with having played 2 tough games it brings us hope for a stong season next year.

As for the other manager dia was great all season finishing in a strong postion in the league. abe was so unlucky in the capital one cup final but had improved the swansea side so much since hes taken over . lewie coming in mid way through had a tough ask at stoke but did very well with them they improved more as the season went on.

An update from March to June is an extreme amount of ground to cover but we will start with the good nonetheless; We managed to remain undefeated at home for the final four months of the season and knocked out Ajax, PSG and Sevilla to reach our first final of the power league. The bad was overwhelming as our away form towards the end of the season plummeted and we essentially lost the title due to it.

I feel we changed our tactic too much over the season and I was focusing on the oppositions weaknesses rather than focusing on our strengths. Next season, we will play as we did in the first season and aim to go out all guns blazing.

GOALSCORERS
Our main goalscorers towards the end of the season were Munir, Aboubakar, Basacikoglu and Ademoglu scoring important goals in important games. Vincent was proven to be a huge miss during the time he was out injured and our tactic will have to better suited for the team rather than his individual brilliance.

The worst season in terms of points since my time as Newcastle boss and the worst goals for also. This is an indication that we changed our tactics and set up which is correct, I went for a more controlled defensive set up this year and although it started well we were undone the second half of the season.

Champions League 16/17 Thoughts?
A very good Champions League performance, managing to reach the final for the first time! We were unlucky in the final after going 1-0 ahead to lose the tie in the 116th minute but it will really help our confidence for seasons ahead. The highlight of the season has to be the 5-1 thrashing of Juventus in the Quarter Finals.

After a quite underwhelming intake, Ross Savage looks to be quite a gem. He plays as an AMC but I will train him as a winger to utilize his pace. His first touch and off the ball movement are particularly impressive.

April + May: Defining Moments

Good season. In the end, we finished 11th, which isn't bad, as when I made my predictions, which isn't bad, as I didn't see the circumstances here. Some of our performances near the end were great! Star results include a 1-0 win over Man Utd at home and a 0-0 draw away to Liverpool. We did have a disappointing moment though. We lost 4-2 in the Semi Finals of the FA Cup to Chelsea. We did run them all the way though. Next season, I hope we can fight for Top-Half Football, and get a good run in the cups!

FINAL MONTHS ROUND-UP

AFTER THE TORRID PREVIOUS COUPLE OF MONTHS WHICH SAW OUR EARLY FORM AND HIGH POSITION PLUMMET (MY DECISION TO NOT ACCEPT RAISED EXPECTATIONS FROM THE BOARD PROBABLY SAVED ME FROM THE SACK!), I WAS PLEASED TO HAVE ONLY LOST 3 GAMES THE REST OF THE SEASON.
I WAS HOWEVER DISSAPOINTED TO LOSE BOTH RIVAL ENCOUNTERS. BOTH WERE AWAY , WITH ROB BEING UNDER HUGE PRESSURE AT THE TIME (LATER DISMISSED) AND LEWIE BEING AN UNKNOWN QUANTITY. WE FOUND OUR TACTIC FOR OUR SQUAD, ALL BE IT, MAYBE TOO LATE BUT HAD SOME AMAZING RESULTS NEAR THE END OF THE SEASON TWO 3-3 DRAWS WITH MAN CITY AND ARSENAL RESPECTIVELY AND THE DRUBBING OF LIVERPOOL 7-4!!
WHAT IT DOES MEAN HOWEVER, NO WINGERS NEEDED NOW SO EXPECT SOME REAL TRANSFORMATIONS TO THE SQUAD.

WE DID AMAZING TO TURN AROUND OUR SEMI- FINAL 1ST LEG DEFICIT (AGAINST A NEWCASTLE TEAM WE HATE TO PLAY) BUT UTD AND IN PARTICULAR THE HUGELY TALENTED DEPAY WERE TOO GOOD FOR US ON THE DAY. BUT A PROUD DAY FOR ALL ATTRIBUTED TO THE CLUB IN REACHING THE FINAL.

HIS FORM MAY HAVE DIPPED, BUT TO BE HONEST THE WHOLE TEAM'S DID. BUT WHAT HE ACHIEVED FOR US OVER THE COURSE OF A SEASON PUT HIM HEAD AND SHOULDERS ABOVE ANYONE ELSE. A BEAST OF A MIDFIELDER AND SEEMS TO REALLY LIKE OUR NEW FORMATION TOO!
I THINK ITS REALLY IMPORTANT TO HAVE A COUPLE OF SEASONED PLAYERS IN MY SQUAD AND HE WILL BE AROUND FOR A WHILE YET.

HE COST US 12M, THE 2ND TIME I HAD BOUGHT HIM, AND HE WAS FANTASTIC FOR US ALL SEASON AT TIMES HE WAS UNPLAYABLE AND WILL ONLY GET BETTER. A WONDERFULLY SKILLED PLAYER.

DIABLO/NEWCASTLE- UNDER-PERFORMED

IT'S EASY TO SAY DIA PERFORMED BEST, HIS TEAM PERFORMED BETTER IN THE LEAGUE THAN ANYONE ELSE AND HE WAS THE ONLY ONE IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TO WHICH HE MADE THE FINAL. HOWEVER, THIS WAS HIS LOWEST LEAGUE FINISH IN THE POWER LEAGUE AND HE FAILED TO MAKE A DOMESTIC CUP FINAL. HE HAS COMFORTABLY MADE THE BIGGEST MOST RECOGNISED SIGNINGS, MUNIR AND MUNIAN TO NAME TWO. SO I'M GOING TO STICK MY NECK OUT AND SAY THAT THIS WAS AN UNDER PERFORMING SEASON ON THE WHOLE FOR HIM, AND IF IT WASN'T FOR ROB'S SACKING I WOULD SAY THE WORST OF THE GROUP, BUT ALSO THE BEST, STRANGE!

ROB/EVERTON/WEST BROM- SACKED(EVERTON)

ROB HAD BAD INJURIES EARLY ON AND PAID FOR EVERTON'S LACK OF DEPTH. HE ALSO SUFFERED AS A RESULT OF HIS PREVIOUS SEASONS' SUCCESS IN THE CUPS. HE WAS NEVER ABLE TO TURN MORALE AROUND AND IT FELT PAINFUL TO WATCH HIM STRUGGLE (MUCH LIKE MY SELF DEC/JAN). HE NEVER GAVE UP THOUGH BEATING MYSELF LATE ON BEFORE HIS DISMISSAL. I BELIEVE WBA'S MORE REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS WILL SUIT ROB AND HE WILL BE AN UNDER-DOG TO WATCH NEXT SEASON I THINK.

LEWIE/STOKE- NEW OLD BOY

THE NEW BOY ON THE SCENE...OR OLD NEW BOY?? LEWIE RETURNS TO THE POWER LEAGUE I FOLLOWED THE STORY WHEN HE WAS IN PREVIOUSLY AND HE SEEMED VERY GUNG-HO AND UNPREDICTABLE. TACTICALLY HE HAS REALISED STOKE CAN'T PLAY LIKE THIS AND SETTLED ON A MUCH MORE SOLID SET UP AND FINISHED THE SEASON PRETTY WELL AFTER A POOR START. WITH THE RIGHT SIGNINGS I THINK LEWIE WILL BE MY MOST POSITIONALLY DIRECT RIVAL, BOTH GUNNING FOR EUROPE!

THIS YEARS INTAKE WASN'T GREAT SO I REASSESSED WHAT WE HAD AND THESE THREE ARE LOOKING REALLY PROMISING AND AS SUCH WE WILL BE FOCUSING ON IMPROVING THEM OVER THE COURSE OF THE SEASON THROUGH TUTORING AND CUP AND SUB OPPORTUNITIES.

AS IN THE PREVIOUS SEASON WE HAVE BEEN BACKED FINANCIALLY CONSIDERING OUR CLUB SIZE, BUT I WILL LOOK TO OFF LOAD SOME DEAD WOOD AND ALSO OUR WINGERS THAT I DONT THINK ARE UP FOR POSITION RE-TRAINING, HOPEFULLY DRAWING ABOUT 8M FOR DYER!
