Alright cheers mate. I think one of the main problems is that due to injuries my back four was so inconsistent. I'll see if I can keep a more consistent back four which will hopefully stop leaking goals. I'll change the training to attacking movement as well. Thanks

Accrington Season 1 - League 2
F9 - Right: Bowerman - Goals: 23
F9 - Left: Gray - Goals: 37

Season 2, league 1 (about 6 games in)
Bowerman - 7 Goals
Mullen: 5 goals
Cassidy: 3 Goals
Dunn: 2 Goals

So from a goal perspective the F9's score alot but have not tried changing the roles, however, I am hesitant to do this as the F9 is integral to the overal system as I see it. The disadvantage of the 4-4-2 (or 4-2-4 if you will) is that midfiled can easily be overrun, however, this is were the F9 comes in as they act as Midfielders, attacking midfielders, wingers or strikers depending on state of play and helps prevent midfield from being overrun defensivly and as link up offensivly.

Would be interested to hear how changing them works out though.
 
Quick question with regard to the Opposition Instructions in the opening post....

I have set them up I the tactics section but when I come to the OI screen in the lead up to a match they are not there, surely you don't have to put them in every time?

After real inconsistency that pulling my hair out, everything has just clicked..... I play the balanced tactic with a DM and a defensive striker on support. Leeds are three divisions above me - those two ties have wiped out two thirds of my 300,000 debt.View attachment 308986
 
This tactic is awesome I have just finished my 3rd season with Man United and won everything available for me to win. I know I am united and it's easier with them but the manner I won it was awesome I lost one game to Chelsea away because of injuries and younger players away on international duty which was annoying but hey oh can't win them all. My stand out performer was James Wilson in his first full season as one of the main strikers,I played him on the right and he scored 35 goals in league and assisted 25 which is awesome. My other striker was Rooney/richairo zivkovic who scored 27 and 18 respectivly.

Just used this with united myself, won my first game 5-1 against city away and my second game 6-1 against Porto at home!

Just curious, are you using OI with this tactic? Also are you using different match/general training to what is stated in the OP?
 
I use balanced along with def set peices all the time and always ask my assistant (tassotti) to do oi before the game I also do my own team talks which seems to work wonders. I will try post some screens with how I did for you but i couldn't get it to work the other day so hence why there are no screenies from me lol
 
these are the screenies i took cant sem to find the final leauge table but I won it losing only one game due to some of my players been away on international duty

just started useing the tactic. im at second season with manchester.
Just won 7-0 and adnan was the king with 6 assists :)
will see how is goes forward now.
 
Yes mate haven't changed anything. I experimented playing my strikers as there preferred rolls but it didn't work for me so stuck with the two false9 works a treat
 
Fantastic tactic this is, almost makes the game too easy... Finished 2nd in the 1st season with Tottenham and won the FA Cup. Second season won the League, Capital 1 Cup and Champions League!

Giving it a go today with Norwich, of course expect to romp the Championship but will be interesting to see how we get on in the 1st season back in the Premier League. Will update.

By the way, with Spurs I brought in Rodolfo Borrell as Assistant and had him deal with all Training and Match Preparation. Opposition Instructions as per the opening post and I took Team Talks.

Ol' = old... Just changed back to this tactic. Following OP's OI and almost everything else. Only thing I do different is training - but do not expect that to have the big difference :-)
