Vela signs Contract

Giovanie Vela has signed a two year contract with Sunderland AFC. Vela is already said to be looking at targets like Kyle Walker, Simone Vukcevic and Coutinho. Vela has been given a reported 35 million to spend on new signings, and with some players speculated as going out, it could be more.

Black Cats Break Transfer Record Twice

Giovani Vela has broken the Sunderland AFC transfer record twice in July 2011. First off Vela bought English right back Kyle Walker for a reported £14.5 Mil. The 21 year old moves to Sunderland from Tottenham. Then only days later Vela made a move for Brazilian playmaker Hernanes for £17 Mil. The 26 year old moves to Sunderland from Sao Paulo.

Vela: We Won't do more Business

Sunderland Manager Giovani Vela has said he will not be a part of any transfers in the rest of this transfer window. He has said that he has bought enough players to improve, and sold enough players to satisfy the finances section of the club.

The Sunderland team is now shaping up to look like this:

Some really good signings and you did a fantastic job keeping them up. You seemed to really make the Stadium of Light a fortress.

Sunderland in Style

Sunderland AFC have release there 2011/12 kits, with new shirt sponsor, British Airways. Sunderland kept shirt manufacturer Umbro on from last season. The big shock is the deviation away from stripes on the home kit, with a simple halved kit, red and white, the style this year. A black and silver striped away keeps the striped tradition, while a dark sky blue is the choice for the third.
