Gareth Bale - Taking Spurs To The Big Time (A Tottenham Hotspur Story)

October

Barcelona 2-0 Tottenham (Champions League)
Villa, Messi

Man Utd 0-1 Tottenham
Defoe

Tottenham 3-1 Newcastle
Defoe x2, Bale - Obertan

Tottenham 3-0 FC Vaslui (Champions League)
Sigurdsson x3

West Ham 1-3 Tottenham
Collison - Bale, Defoe, Dembele

Tottenham 1-0 Birmingham (Capital One Cup 4th round)
Fierro

A great month in the league saw us shoot up to second. The defeat to Barcelona shows that we still have a long way to go to becoming the dominant team in Europe as we didn't have any chances whatsoever. A top class striker is definitely a priority for next summer.

Top goalscorer: Jermain Defoe (4)
Best player: Mousa Dembele

Scored some very important goals for us. He did a job on the wing when needed too. The big Belgian finds himself up there as an early contender for the Player of the Year award.

I won my third Manager of the Month award, also Jermain Defoe won best player.

Another great month minus that last game against Villa. We now sit second in the table with a game in hand over table-toppers Newcastle. We've also qualified for the Champions League knockout stages with a game in hand due to that victory over Juventus.

Spurs are dumped out of the Capital One Cup at the Quarter-Final stage.

The month started on a couple of sour notes, Isco was ruled out for three weeks with an ankle problem and Tottenham lost the chance to defend their Capital One Cup trophy at the hands of Stoke.

Stoke 2-1 Tottenham (Capital One Cup)
Jerome, Abdoun - Parker

Tottenham 4-1 Palace
Sigurdsson x2, Defoe, Bale - Bolasie

Everton 1-0 Tottenham
Coleman

Tottenham 2-4 Barcelona (Champions League group stage)
Adebayor, Kaboul - Iniesta, Song x2, Fabregas

Tottenham 1-3 Arsenal
Sigurdsson - Cazorla x2, Wilshere

Man City 3-2 Tottenham
Milner x2, Y Toure - Kaboul, Vertonghen

Tottenham 1-0 Middlesborough
Isco

QPR 1-2 Tottenham
Remy - Defoe x2

A bad month was summed up by the injury Gylfi Sigurdsson picked up against QPR. The Iceland international is ruled out for four months due to a torn calf. He'll be missed massively as he often chips in with very important goals.

Top goalscorer: Gylfi Sigurdsson, Jermain Defoe (3)
Best player: Gareth Bale

Champions League Draw:
We only qualified in second place so a tough draw was expected. At least we could miss Barcelona though as they were in our group. We got the next hardest thing - a two legged tie against Real Madrid.

Tottenham lose some ground in the league race, however remain in the hunt for the FA Cup.

Spurs sell star striker!

Emmanuel Adebayor has had a massive decline in form recently, and when an offer of £5million was on the table from French giants PSG. It was too good to turn down as it gets his massive £100k a week wages off the bill.

Thankfully a replacement had already come in, as Landon Donovan joined on his free transfer from LA Galaxy. Its also good as it means more game time for youngster Carlos Fierro.

Tottenham 1-0 Norwich

Tottenham 2-1 Crystal Palace (FA Cup third round)

Huddersfield 2-2 Tottenham (FA Cup 4th round)

The loss of ground in the league at this stage of the season is worrying, although I feel our squad is superior to the teams above. We'll sit tight and wait for them to make a mistake.

Local rivals Arsenal just aren't dropping points in the league. We sit in fourth spot with Newcastle and Chelsea still above us.

We've now made it to the semi-finals of the FA Cup and sit top of the Premier League by two points. Although Bale picked up a serious injury which means he'll be out for two months - effectively ending his season.

Three out of four league wins in April leaves us needing just one more win to secure the Premier League crown. We've also progressed to the FA Cup final where we'll face United for the second time in as many years.

Tottenham win their first league crown since 1961, although there is disappointment as they lose in the FA Cup final.

This was where the league crown was won. A draw against fellow title challengers City was enough to seal it!

Man Utd 2-1 Tottenham (FA Cup final)

We took the lead early on, but after we scored United dominated the game and probably should've won by more. Gutted not to have done the double but the league title is a good start.

A season review will be up shortly!

Not taking anything away about your league victory, a congratulations is deffo in place :) But i am a bit suprised by the poor standard of the rest of the teams in the league? But hopefully now you can bring in a class left back and/or a class striker and upgrade facilities :)

Ha I know! I expected more of a challenge from both Manchester clubs at least. I don't expect them to be that poor again next season. I have big plans ;)

Season Review

Top goalscorer: Jermain Defoe - 24 goals
Most improved player: Carlos Fierro
Best player: Mousa Dembele

A great season for Spurs in the end. The lads played magnificently throughout although there wasn't much competition from the rivals. I expect much more of a title challenge from them next season so I know I have to strengthen. Also if I want to challenge in Europe a world-class striker is a must.

Spurs move into their new home - Tottenham Stadium

Tottenham Stadium is a 49,000 all-seater, a 14,000 seat improvement on White Hart Lane. The match day income should see a significant rise which is massively beneficial to the club.

Transfers

We were given a whopping £51million transfer budget, as well as another 200k in wages. This proved to be plenty to strengthening our squad.

Outs

A few tough decisions were made this summer. We sold Aaron Lennon to Fulham for £11.5m, Jermain Defoe to Everton for £7.25m, Danny Rose to Stoke for £6m, plus Landon Donovan and Gomes left on free transfers. We also let some reserve players go.

View attachment 354020View attachment 354021

Ins

Gerard Deulofeu - The 20-year old winger came in for £12million which was near-enough what we sold Aaron Lennon for, plus he's on cheaper wages with 5* potential!

Luke Shaw - A 19-year old left-back who will play backup to BAE for one more season. Signed for £7million from recently relegated Southampton.

Rodrigo - We finally have a top drawer striker! We tried to get Neymar but were priced out of a move and he chose Man Utd instead. Rodrigo cost a whopping £31m and commands wages of 93k a week, but should score the goals we desperately need.

Christian Benteke - The Belgian was just too good to miss out on. He cost £13million and is still only young (23). He'll rotate with Rodrigo and Fierro.

First choice XI for the upcoming season

View attachment 354029

Rodrigo is the only newcomer to the starting XI. The bench got a lot stronger though. We'll try to push young players such as Zouma and Shaw into the team as much as possible. The same applies to Fierro, Benteke and Caulker.

Our junior coaching budget was increased, as was our youth recruitment - meaning the quality of youngsters we take in should be of a higher standard.

The pre-season results will come in the morning, and don't forget to leave your feedback!

Pre-Season

I decided to start the pre-season with a little cup competition in honour of our new stadium. The "Hotspur Cup" consists of four teams in a knockout style over two days.

Tottenham 5-1 Birmingham (Hotspur Cup semi-final)
Dembele, Bale x2, Vertonghen, Huddlestone - Stevens

Tottenham 3-0 Everton (Hotspur Cup final)
Sigurdsson, Zouma, Benteke

Next came a three game tour of China

Changchun 1-4 Tottenham
Zheng Guangyi - Fierro x2, Caulker, Isco

Guangzhou 2-4 Tottenham
Eikeson x2 - Kaboul, Kang Tie o.g, Bale

Shandong 1-1 Tottenham
Piscu - Vertonghen

Then two away fixtures

Leyton Orient 1-3 Tottenham

Alston - Dembele x2, Wanyama

Boca Unidos 1-2 Tottenham
Quintero - Holtby, Benteke

Top goalscorer: Bale (3)
Best player: Bale

August

We made it consecutive Community Shield victories against Man Utd, also we played our first competitive game at the Tottenham Stadium!

View attachment 354061

Tottenham 2-1 Man Utd (Community Shield)
Wanyama, Vertonghen - Rooney

Arsenal 0-0 Tottenham

Tottenham 3-0 Blackpool
Bale x2, Benteke

Wigan 1-1 Tottenham
Marcelinho - Rodrigo

Rodrigo and Benteke both got off the mark for their new clubs nice and early which is always nice. I would've liked a win at Wigan though. I'm currently trying to get my lads to pass the ball around more, so that may bring in some odd results.

I also picked up this young Belgian winger with 5* potential. He cost me £3.7m

September

First of all I've sent Carlos Fierro on a three month loan to feeder club Huddersfield to get some much needed game time. He still has a 5* potential and he'll be utilised more in the coming seasons, but as we have Rodrigo and Benteke and we onlyplay one striker, I thought it right to send him out for a while.

Fulham 2-2 Tottenham
Lennon x2 - Vertonghen, Dembele

SC Heerenveen 0-3 Tottenham (Champions League)
Benteke, Rodrigo x2

Tottenham 3-0 West Ham
Vertonghen x2, Benteke

Brighton 0-3 Tottenham (Capital One Cup)
Caulker, Parker, Benteke

Tottenham 3-0 Aston Villa
Deulofeu x2, Vertonghen

Tottenham 1-0 Juventus (Champions League)
Vertonghen

I've been delighted with Benteke's impact from off the bench this month. Also Jan Vertonghen's goals tally from the back. I'm loving the Belgian and Spanish power in the heart of the starting XI too.

Top goalscorer: Jan Vertonghen (5)
Best player: Jan Vertonghen

He also won the Player of the Month award

A busy month which saw Spurs move up into second in the league, we also sit second in our Champions League group, now needing at least a point against Juve in the final game at the start of December.

The only worry here is that the strikers aren't scoring as much as I'd like, Defoe scored at least 20 goals in his first two seasons with the club. Both Benteke and Rodrigo are some way off that total.
