Gary Speed Tribute Challenge.

Started this as Wrexham, welsh/english nationality and sunday league experience.
Promotion FA trophy & Welsh cup treble in first season. (Whats with 3 subs for Welsh Cup games)
seems the beaten finalists got into Europa League instead of me. Anybody know if this is because i got promoted to League 2 or are BSP teams unable to represent Wales too?

Get those screenshots in bro and we'll add you to the challenge! :)

Season 2013-14: Straight Up, Guv!

League 2:
The newly-promoted Seagulls took the league by storm, finishing 4 points clear. Top scorer David Healy netted 20 goals for us, most of them massively important, including 2 penalties in a 2-2 draw with Accrington.

Johnstone's Paint Trophy:
The JPT was the first time the club had ever entered, never mind won it. Beating teams such as Sheffield Wednesday and Torquay on the way to lifting the trophy.

Top Performers:
Dean Parrett and Josh King were the quiet successes of the season, playing well constantly and solidfying the midfield during many an injury crisis in the case of the former. David Healy was the top scorer with 28 goals in all comps, followed closely by King, who had an injury-hit season yet still managed to score 23 goals.

Player of the Season:
Frederic Veseli
The Swiss U21 captain became the Colwyn Bay captain this season, replacing Counago. He ended up scoring 22 goals in all competitions, from CENTRE-BACK. Massively improved this season, and not just at the back. Ridiculously good.

Danny. How dare you poach young Cardiff prospects!

Technically, I did agree a deal to poach him, but I couldn't afford the compensation fee up front. So I had to go through the normal channels. So, really, he's been bought, not poached :)

After Danny's update he jumps over Gardner and ties it up with Meynell for 4th spot. Still some way off Andy's total but that gap is surely to be closed quickly with the rate Danny's Colwyn Bay are picking up speed. The addition of that young Cardiff striker will help replace the old timers Danny has in his squad at the minute. I've resigned from Cardiff to take of The New Saints in the Welsh premier league - quite a change of scenery that is, I have about 450K a year to spend on wages compared to the 2.2 million i was getting with Cardiff and to add to that the welsh Premier league is a 1 star league so getting players interested in coming over is difficult in itself. Waiting for a few screenshot updates from newcomers to add them to the table but it's starting to heat up a little bit.

Yeah, I underestimated them a bit and decided to play a weakened team, which ultimately was the wrong decision

Just a few of the players I've brought in:

Rhys Barton (£2.5m, Cardiff)

I had him signed before the end of last year, and so far, he's been well worth the record fee paid for him. Great potential too.

Marty Woods (St. Pat's Athletic, Free)

A great spot from my scouts. Good Prem potential and decent stats now. Walked into the team alongside Veseli and is one of the main reasons for the good start to the season.

Jody Bridgwater (Unattached, Free)

Released by Birmingham this summer, I snapped him up as a dedicated LB and the replacement to the retiring Ben Thatcher.

Eamonn Brett (St. Pat's Athletic, Free)

The 2nd man from St. Pats, Brett has a great potential and fits perfectly in as a DLP in my 4-4-2.

Scott Griffiths (Chelsea, Free)

My "marquee" signing. The dual Welsh-English national has potential to be a leading Prem mid, and I'm hoping, will still be available for selection when I (eventually) become Wales boss.

Manfred Lindner (Manchester United, Loan)
View attachment 240941
Mainly loaned as backup, the German plays the exact same style and positions to Dean Parrett, who was the League 2 Player of the Year last season. United have a starlet on their hands if he's anything to go by though.

Phillip Kelly (Shelbourne, Free)
View attachment 240935
Another signing from the Irish leagues, there is now more Irish blood in my team than in Boston, I'm pretty sure. Kelly has the potential to be a Good Prem keeper in the future. Currently understudy to fellow countryman Aaron McCarey.

Kristian Abel (Unattached, Free)
View attachment 240942
The former Manchester United trainee was released in the summer, and I snapped him up. Again, good potential (Prem standard). The arrivals of Kelly and Abel will probably spell the end of Sam Johnstone at the Bay, though.

As you guys can tell - I raided the Irish leagues :p Hope that Griffiths doesn't get called up to England though, because he is one **** of a talent. Would be a top player in my U19's but won't accept a callup.

Oh he is so going to England, the welsh/english nationals are real ****** to deal with. The best regen I got in my Cardiff Academy was a duel national and I tried to cap him for wales the day I saw him and he has been rejecting me since that day.

There is hope though, according the SM Challenge, when they get SM/Italy regens, they accept the callup for SM at 24. Also, Griffiths still doesn't have the dreaded "Would only consider a callup from England at this time"

Just hoping I can get the Wales job before hes ~20, so then it's a case of senior squad at 19/20 - more likely to accept callup.
He hasn't even been capped for England U19's yet...

Jono gets his points Added. I made it into Europa League with TNS after a 7th place finish in the WPL. (I'll argue I deserve the points but since they aren't within the realm of the original challlenge I'll continue to focus on building up the welsh rep to increase regens!)
