View attachment 252372

Deventer Daily: "Straightforward Denis, what's wrong with you?"
Straqcualursi: "How do you mean? I am fine"

Deventer Daily: "You call 10 games without a goal, FINE?"
Stracqualursi: "I am trying my best here, I told you not to compare me with Lassad"

Deventer Daily: "We called you Strack-Attack; the club made you highest earner, you play regularly! Are you aware that fans might call you know Stack-out?"
Stracqualursi: "No. I will come back better"

Deventer Daily: "Are you going to leave in January?"
Stracqualursi: "We are sill in the summer and transfer deadline is open. We lack a proper leader in this team, we have no identity right now, that's why we are loosing"

End of interview.

==================================

There are rumors that the journalist of Deventer Daily, who is a huge fan of The Eagles, told Stacqualursi after the interview: "I do it for a pay, otherwise you su.ck Stack-Out"!

Strack chased him for a couple of meters, but the journalist was a sprinter in his youth.

A big big big move for Go Ahead Eagles!!

We have been able to convince Rafael Van der Vaart to join us!

RVDV joins on bosman-free, signing two year contract worth 8.5k month and several other installments as he was demanding double that money.

He is already 32 years old and not at his best days but we believe he can still lead this club and save the season.

His role will be to lead our attacks and inspire this young teams of ours.

Eredivisie #8
Go Ahead Eagles - ADO Den Haag

Jop Van den Linden

At 12th place currently.

Nice to see FINALLY Stracqualursi scoring, it's his first goal in 12 matches. I had high hopes when I signed him, but he has been way inefficient so far.

The photo shows how really the goal looks like in his mind:

Standings and players stats

Way different than we hoped in the beginning of the season, when we were thinking we are one of the teams to go for Champions League. This of course happened based on our last seasons performance.
Loosing 5 players during the summer made us struggle. We signed good players and we are growing as a club but it is taking time for our new formations to deliver.

We have climbed now to 8th place and with a good run of games we hope to push for Top6 this season too.

One thing we will do differently, we will try to keep our core players and possibly sign on permanent deal our loan player from Fulham, Ryan Williams.

Meanwhile... an unexpected text from our ex-star Lassad, who is enjoying his 19.5k/week at Brugge but has played only one game as substitute

View attachment 250735

Well, I will have to tell him that we cannot possibly bring him back unless he leaves Brugge and become free agent again, than he also would need to drop his wage demands below 10k/week.

This game is hard sometimes: from free agent to instant glory (Player of the Year in Holland) to an instant fall (bench player in Belgium).
There is some poor decision making in between.

Two points in four matches, sends us back to 10th place in Eredivise.

In order to improve our shaky defense we have successfully negotiated with free agent:

Tyler Blackett

View attachment 250660
21 years old / CB / 191 cm

Blackett was surprisingly released from Manchester United and we moved quickly to offer him a salary of 6.5k / week and also guaranteeing him a starting spot in Central Defense alongside Jop Van der Linden.

Blackett becomes our most valuable player.

A fantastic run of games sends us in Top6 and in Semi Finals of the Dutch Cup.

Our defense has improved a lot since we signed Blackett. The way he is playing, big teams will be after him very soon.
Another factor for our good run of games is the form of N'Doumbou and of course Franck Julienne who netted two hat-tricks, against Cambuur and RKC.

Van der Vaart and Turuc are holding our central midfield, and there is Razak in rotation.

January Update

We signed only one player, 16 years old striker Ibrahim Addo for 15k from Illertisen.

While several other players left the club:

Ninos Gouriye - 18.5k to Fortuna
Fabio Hoxha - on loan to Mouscron
William Trost-Ekong - on loan to De Graafchap
Marin Jakollis and Tom Lamkamp - on loan to Achilles
Puck Postma - on loan to Den Bosch

We continue to rise our game and get better results, although it took a while this season.

If we would have been playing like this since the beginning of the season, not we would have been title contenders. It took a while for our players to adapt, and that is the main thing we will be careful next season: we shall keep our top players.

The other important factor is Stracqualursi's performance. He hasn't been the right replacement for Lassad, who was not only League's Top Scorer but also was Leading in Assists.

So, our game requires a CF who can score and bring others to play, and that's what Strack can't do properly. He lacks dribbling abilities and he cannot control the ball that well. He has scored 9 goals, but that is way less than Lassad last season and most of them were goals in penalty area, three of them headers.

Our Starting Lineup

Adam Kovacsik

Sven Nieuwpoort - Tyler Blackett - Jop Van der Linden - Joazinho

Alexander N'Doumbou - Abdul Razak - Rafael Van Der Vaart - Deniz Turuc

Denis Stracqualursi - Frank Julienne

Mostly used subs:
Xandro Schenk LB / CB
Ryan Williams RM/LM
Jules Reimerik - LM
Kane Hennings - CF

Most improved players so far are Blackett, N'Doumbou, Van der Linden, Joazinho and Turuc.

Rafael Van Der Vaart
is not in his best days anymore. He lacks stamina, and as our game is based in fact pace attacks, he is often slowing us down. But, he comes best when we are controlling the game, he provides others with great passes and has 4 assists so far (only Turuc has more, 6).

And finally few words about our star player, Franck Julienne.
15 goals so far and counting. He is now valued at 2.5 million and has a wage of 10k / week (2nd in the club, after Van Der Vaart).

He is fans beloved and recently there have been rumors about his possible call-up for France National Team. Can that be possible?

It all started from his Facebook post and the comment from France NT coach, Michel Proud'homme:

View attachment 249459

Of course this doesn't show anything, yet, but our player is getting attention now because of this comment and let's hope to see him one day wearing the french jersey!

Meanwhile, once his partner in attack, Lassad, not only is warming the bench but he is way out of spotlight and his name is fading...

That's football!

In which position are you currently in league?

Man, judging your team by the "names" of your players you have real bomb squad there!
Van der vaart -> Real Madrid, Tottenham, Hamburger
Razak -> Man City
Blackett -> Man United
N`Doumbou -> Marseille

I hope you can kick it up and go for European places.

About Lassad, maybe you should try and get him back? Ofcourse if he can compile with lower salary, but if he can repeat his plays from past you would have Mean Machine there with Jullienne and Lassad up front =)

Thanks! We are 5th currently.
Well the squad is getting better and better... so are the finances. I have signed the players that you mentioned with relatively low wages. N'Doumbou was signed for 2.4k/week, now he is on 4.4k/week.
Van der Vart has the highest salary in the club, around 10k/week. All others are under.

Soon as this season is over, I will look to sell Stracqualursi and buy a new CF.

I'd consider Lassad, but now fans hate him :D He broke their hearts by accepting Clube Brugge and leaving our project :D

Go Ahead Eagles are into the Finals of the Dutch Cup!!

View attachment 249371

We went into the semi finals against NAC Breda, a club against which we have good record lately. We were very cautious before the match keeping our calm and focusing on the match despite the pressure from the media.

Everything went great for us in the match where we dominated and finally we won with 3 : 1 win. Franck Julienne scored twice and the other goal was scored from Stracqualursi.

Of course the goal scorers stole the show but this win should be attributed also to Rafael Van der Vaart, who made key passes.

You can see the goals below and especially our 3rd one, Van der Vaart's no look pass to Julienne.
