I remember this one player in my Arsenal save in FM 2011. Now, I had a whole generation of amazing players I helped develop (David, Jonathan Fontana, Jorge Pasini, etc) but none of them, NONE of them shall ever eclipse the absolute LEGEND that was Ousseynou Faye.
My scouts had picked him up while he was playing for PSV. He was 22 years old, of Senegalese nationality (but not a single international cap) and underperforming there, but my scouts rated his potential very highly. So I thought, "He's only 6.5 mil, why not?" And when he arrived that summer, the fans were a little wary, but willing to give him time.
First game of the season against...someone, I can't even remember...my 40 million pound Brazilian forward, Toninho, was failing to make an impact. At half time, he had a 6.0 rating, so I turned to Faye, and said, "Your turn, son."
He scored a hat trick on his debut. And we never looked back.
He got somewhere around 30 goals that first season, and the European Golden Boot. He got called up to France soon after that and he ended up retiring with a World Cup with them, and about 120+ goals in about 110 games. He ended up breaking Henry's records with us. He somehow scored 6 goals in one game. And when he announced his retirement, I was so so so sad. I couldn't play for a week. :/
So yeah, I definitely get overly attached to my regens. xD
