Have you ever managed your real life rivals?

i managed Forest once to see how bad i could make them do

i sold all their first team, made them come last in the Championship, then made tranfsers that ruined then financially, then quit and watched the fun unfold.

Just a question for all you that won´t manage a rival club or took the job just to ruin the club - You do realize it´s just a game? Why take the time to take the job in the first place?

Yes it not like if you ruin your rivals it will happen irl you just wasting your time :(

Tried managing Man U loads of times and just get bored as it's too easy.

I support man united and i'ts never crossed my mind to manage Man City or Liverpool, and although my local club is ipswich I must confess to managing Norwich on CM06 but I hated every minute of it as they were a mid league 1 standard side playing in the Championship. I ended up moving to a swiss club, FC Lausanne Sports (sp), and got them promoted to the top division and relegated back down again, that was much more enjoyable.

I manage Derby just to take them out the football league. But on most games I play, I just ruin them financially and make all their players contracts expire because they are a bunch of **** *****.

They're so **** anyway, they don't need my guidance to perform terribly.

Yeah but there is a deep underlying satisfaction that the game gives you the oppurtunity to ruin your rivals.

I'd never manage Rangers.

...And you're still not making your own club any better.

I've never managed Osasuna.

The only club I hate that I've managed once (just a few matches, left that game then), although they are not considered Real Zaragoza big rivals, is Real Madrid.

I'd never manage my club(s) rival(s). I'd never manage Celtic as I'm a Rangers fan, and for some weird reason any team that plays in green I tend to give the dodge. Also those Fifers known as Dunfermline are a team I tend to avoid, although the weird thing with the strip colours isn't as bad. Ha

Sporting CP - **** no, totally boring

FC Porto - never did, but could, as they have an interesting team

I have never ever or ever wanted to be Man United on Fooball Manager.

Exactly the same here, but I already managed Porto, and I liked it, really much tbh. But every game against Benfica was a torture for me, but I always won against them.
I would never manage Sporting CP. They only give you 4M to win the league, and have a weak side in many positions, specially the defense.
But that's because mine major rivals are Sporting CP, even though the majority of the Benfica supporters prefer them to Porto. The worst thing that could happen was seeing Sporting as champions. Out any other team there, anyone but Sporting...

i wouldnt manage celtic, not becuase i'd have the feeling of wanting to kill myself, just wouldn't find it interesting like managing a club i genuinley support, only reason i went city is for the money, don't lie you've all done it sometime.

i did once go liverpool and it was a decent challenge without any money and i actually enjoyed it but im not the type of person who calls liverpool scum and stuff like that
