How do you find all these good players for the rubbish teams? And well done

The state champinships have been better and worse this season. Better because we finished 3rd, we were even briefly 1st. Worse because we fell at the semi final of the play offs, whereas we got to the final last year.

In Serie B we could only manage second, This is ok though as there are no playoffs we are simply promoted. I need to sort my defence for next season.

The major surprise for the season was the Copa Do Brasil, We made it all the way to the final only to be undone on penalties.

Not sure how I missed that but concider this the fix! It's all that *** the parcels fault it distracts me :p

I should hopefully have another season done at some point today or at the very least the state championships.

As promised the State championships are done, We have played really well, but unfortunatley I have failed to bring in any of the transfer subjects I wanted. So we are exactly the same starting 11 as we were last season! Only 3 losses in the state championships and we were flying, Surley this had to be our year?

Half way through our return to Serie A and we are doing far better than anyone expected, I'm hoping that we can wrap up Libertadores qualification with a few good signings.

4th is a fantastic position for us at the half way point, If we can cut out a few of the losses we can be right up there at the end of the season.

With a view to finishing as high as possible I got some more funds off the board and went to strengthen the squad, A few of the young free transfers were signed at the start of the season and i'll cover them here aswell.

Not exactly a world beater but looks plenty good enough to provide back up when I need it. Finishing is a little low for an inside forward role and i'll be looking to address that.

Comes in and immediatley disposes Antônio Francisco who has held the right wing back spot since Serie C! This kid from Uruguay is amazing, I expect big big things from him.

Comes straight into our starting lineup at just 20, Far better than what we have and he can only improve both himself and us. 900k of his fee is spread over the next 12 months, Foolish or genius will be proven by how he plays.

Now this guy doesn't look very good on the face of it, He even doesnt have a high star rating. But my scout highly reccommended him and he has apparantly been labelled the nex Ronaldinho! So I was prepared to take a punt and hope for the best.

The signings I have made have more than paid off, We have played some beautiful stuff, The 3 losses have hurt us but on the whole we have taken points off our rivals.

Sadly no, this is the worst I have ever seen this team play, Not even a shot on goal and I was furious. In the end we have dropped all the way to 3rd. But on the whole a succesful season fo our first one back and we will be back next season stronger. The big news for Brazillian football is that Sao Paulo and Corinthians have both been relegated!

I felt quite cocky this year so I have selected Copa Libertadores qualification through the league, This give me near to £2m to spend. But I am so far under my wage budget than I can easily double that if I have to.

Jose Elias sold for £28m! This meant I could really splash the cash. He just got far to big for the team and he was constantly whining about joining a bigger club. When Juventus offered that I couldn't say no. Here is a SS of Elias for those who are curious how he developed(very well IMO). Though I would still say he is far from worth £28m! He looks like a better midfielder than defender now!

Despite losing my best player and captain I feel our squad is now significantly stronger due to all the money I had to spend. We should challenge all the way on all fronts this season.​
 
A few glaring mistakes are still evident in the squad, But It is now a very young team and I can't complain to much with the efforts.

The Copa Libertadores Started during the state championships and finished a few games into the normal season. So I have elected to update that next. As many of you are aware I have already won two of these with UdeG but I felt it was more in the spirit of the challenge to win it with an actual south american side. The squad I have is excellent now and we are major contenders for the Libertadores.

This was one **** of a game for the neutral 6-5 on aggregate and we can concider ourselves very lucky to of won this. But win it we did and our journey continues with Boca the reining champions in the next round....

Quarter Final
We beat Boca 4-2 in there own stadium then duly finished the job 2-0 at home for a fantastic 6-2 aggregate victory. This just confirms for me that we are one of the best teams in this contest. Newells in the semi final.

We crushed Newells at home then lost 2-0 away, this was still good enough to get us through to the clubs second Libertadores final! Where we will play Flamengo.

Not bad for the teams first effort at the contest in 40 something years! 1-1 and 2-1 for a 3-2 victory, When Flamengo scored in the 83rd minute I was more than a little bit nervous. But we held firm and won the Libertadores!
