I have been very busy in the transfer market, The squad was paper thin and we happend to have a massive wage budget remaining so I went shopping.

An entire first team has been brought in, All 3 of my foreign quota has been filled by players from Mozambique, who at this level should absolute beasts. I have abused the fact that Taipei nationals don't count as foreign and got Chris Palmer who was New Zealand Bord but is declared for Taipei as my new number 1.

Promotion s first and foremost on our mind, At the half way point we are going well. Our defence is still prone to lapses but we seem alot more able to fight back now. We have also managed to stay in the cup so far, which is a good source of income.

Despite the cup exit and the two losses in the league, our second half of the season form has been superb.

The quality of players I can sign now we have been promoted is staggering compared to what we could get, Sadly my transfer budget is non existant. One of my players from Mozambique has also taken Chinese nationality thus freeing up a foreign spot in my team. I feel I have significantly strengthened the squad. Here are our transfers.

ive read all of your stories and you are and fm god, but ive always wondered if you sign players based on their stats or their scout report?
 
Great story - going to try something similar myself methinks as I cant seem to get into a long term save with one club that isnt Athletic Bilbao (usually last between 6-8 seasons) - except I am not going to load up all those tiny countries!!!!!

It can be a bit of both, obviously stats count, but if the report says they are potential world beater and I have transfer budget to spare i'll take a punt.

You need the tiny countries! Who doesnt love a 12 game game season.......

is there any more teams like Bilbao in the lower leagues in Spain, If so maybe you could try that?

We have managed to maintain our form throughout the season, We finish the season unbeaten. Not bad for a newly promoted side!

This happend to me when I was managing in the USA, China are hosting the Club World Cup. As Chinese champions this qualifies us for the tournament. So without even earning the right we are in there! It should be good for putting the club back on a sound financial footing, So we can really challenge in the Champions Leagues next season.

I will probably load all the big ones (England, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Argentina and Brazil) but start in a less popular country which could be Serbia, Croatia, Mexico, USA, Scotland, Greece or Belgium for instance and when I conquer one I will delete the nation and add a new one.

Mexico is great fun, USA not so much.

I've read about a team called Barakaldo playing in the Spainish lower leagues who can only sign Basque players. Do you not fancy that?
