At the moment, there's no/little hope of that happening. So why sell the two main marketing assets of the club when we're looking for new buyers? Even our lovely owners aren't that dim.

Spot on, so My thoughts are

100 Million is over valuing Gerrard and Torres, together there not worth nearly that, but there is no point in Liverpool selling either of them if they can keep hold.
Reasons because most the money will service debts, so they will no be able to replace with equal quality, and they loose to assets who raise the profile of the club
