What a great season so far mate some good wins there, you may get them back up!

Thanks Sam! Im really enjoying this save at the moment. Although i knew this tactic worked really well, i wasnt expecting it to work this well. Have you tried an Ipswich save on this years FM yet?

What do you think of the thread so far? Do you think im posting too many screenshots?

Fulham so its an all Championship final! and its great, I would recommend anyone to try them on here, not just because they are my club :P lol Grealish has been amazing for me this season

Nice win against Man United there mate and what a tie there in the Semi Final!

With 6 games remaining in The Championship, Ipswich Town have secured a place in the Playoffs!

Ipswich Town stay top of the league by 9 points and surely George Burley will be looking to rally his troops for the final push.
Elsewhere in The Championship, Middlesbrough have lost their form which has seen them keep right on the tails of Ipswich. But they now fall into 3rd place as Leeds have put together a run of form to put them in the 2nd automatic promotion spot.
Norwich are finding 5th gear as they are really pushing on and have cut their points trail of 2nd to just 6 points.
Brentfords amazing form after winning promotion from League 1 last season has not halted. They remain in the hunt for a playoff spot.
Derby, Wolves, Fulham and Wigan all sit just outside the playoff positions by 3, 8, 10 & 15 pts respectively.

Blackpool are rock bottom and dont look like surviving the drop. Sheff Wed and Rotherham make up the rest of the relegation zone.
With Bolton 8 points clear of 21st place Cardiff, it looks like it will be between Cardiff, Rotherham and Sheff Wed who will be joining Blackpool in League next year!

In real life Fulham had a bit of trouble at the beginning of the season didnt they! But to be fair, on this game, they do have 3 really decent young prospects in Dan Burn, Patrick Roberts and Cauley Woodrow! I think they would be a decent side :)

An all championship final though man, thats crazy! haha. Seems to be a bit of trend on this years FM? Ive seen lots of threads and manager stories where championship clubs are making the FA CUP final!

Grealish definitely is a beast. If i can keep him next season too il be mega chuffed! Hopefully by then, i will be a favoured club and his contract will still be running out. Possible cheap transfer?!?!?!

Thanks man, i was expecting us to be pummelled if im honest. Norwich too! They done well to beat Arsenal. I feel confident though, ive done the league double over them this season.

I have just 6 league games left.

Im going to leave the next lot screenshots until the end of the season now. Hopefully there will be screenshot of us winning the fa cup!!
I wont be posting a screeny of every single game. But i will pick out a few big results.

I dont think it should take me that long, so id say the next update will be around 3pm today.

Ive decided to pick out a few of the eye catching results towards the end of my 1st season at Ipswich Town!

View attachment 308547
Starting with the game at Carrow Road. Winning this game would mean ive done the league double over our local rivals Norwich!
Winning 4-1 was pretty emphatic. No doubt the red card of Alexander Tetty played a minor role in the scoreline seeing as 2 of my goals were scored after the sending off.
Neverthe less, a convincing win over our rivals kept us top of the league with a comfortable points gap.

View attachment 308548
Our FA CUP run was no doubt, one of the highlights of our season. Beating Man Utd in the 6th round 1-0 to set up an East Anglian derby in the semis was a fantastic achievement!

View attachment 308542

After our FA CUP exploits, securing the promotion was our next goal. This 5-1 thrashing against bottom Blackpool did just that as Ipswich Town guaranteed their return to the big time! This defeat also pretty much condemned Blackpool back to League one, with their manager not long after receiving his p45!

View attachment 308543
Next, was to win the league. Straight after the Blackpool game, we had the chance to wrap things up before the big East Anglian derby in the FA CUP SEMI FINAL.
A 9-1 mauling of Cardiff won us the league in the most emphatic of styles!

Now that the league title was won, i tend to like playing a few youngsters if i have a few games remaining. Joe Nicholas a product of our recent youth intake looks promising and has a 5 star (1 black star) potential rating and could become and leading midfielder in the premiership! George Fowler is a young centre back who started the season in our ranks again with a 5 star (1 black star) potential rating. These two youngster would be set to start my remaining league games providing they are in top condition.

Im not quite sure what happened here....
A MASSIVE MASSIVE chance for us reach the FA CUP final for the first time since winning it in 1978. And against our fierce and local rivals Norwich! This was arguably our biggest of the season.
Considering we have beaten Norwich twice in the league this year i went in to the game quite confident we would be returning to Wembley in a few weeks for the final.
However, Norwich come out a completely changed team. They were all over us, taking a 1 goal lead in the opening minute certainly surprised the blue side of Wembley.
Grealish replied with an equaliser on 21minutes, at this point, i thought we were going to absolutely batter them and win the game. Some bad defending and a couple of catastrophic mistakes at back meant Norwich would regain their 1 goal advantage and then double it on 40 and 73 minutes.

There were no excuses as all of my key players were in top condition and match fit.
A few of the key performers which had been largely responsible for getting us this far and our success in the league in the league, went into hiding. We totally bottled it and missed out on a glorious chance.

Although we were never predicted to make it this far, and i certainly wasnt expecting it. To make it this far, beating Burnley and Man Utd. With Norwich in the semis, i fully expected us to set up an incredible last game of the season for fans at Wembley. It wasnt meant to be though and i am truly gutted.

How long would we have to wait for another chance like this??

So the end of the season and what a year we have had. Predicted to finish mid table and we have completely stormed it. Finishing top with 103 pts and 11 points being difference of our closest competitors. 143 goals scored is a magnificent feat. Next season im sure we would like to tighten up our defence!

View attachment 308552

Luke 'chambo' Chambers finished the season with the most appearances.
Our Top goalscorers were ;
Murphy 40
McGoldrick, Bonazzoli & Sammon all on 22.

To have 4 strikers all score over 20 goals is awesome and no doubt the reason we have finished the season in such style.

Huge ipswich fan here, so i wish you luck and hopefully you can return the glory days,
How are your finances looking? As when i had a little go managing them i didnt spend in the summer and i sold a couple of players to lower the wage bill, by jan i kept getting news bout the clubs financial trouble n bout players that may have leave due to that

Tracz, i thought i would give you some screenshots of our final finances.

View attachment 308529

Following our confirmation of winning the league, shortly after i received a message giving us our new budgets for the next season.
£14m is ALOT! Considering we have been hovering just above the red all season.

View attachment 308530
Our current balance is £3.8m. Projected to finish with £10.3m by the end of the season.

View attachment 308531

Considering our balance at the end of the season is £10m and is projected to fall each season by £2-3m. Im confused as to why my Transfer budget is increasing each year.

Im not going to pay too much attention to my transfer budget and try to spend wisely to keep our balance healthy.
I think maybe 2 seasons of consolidating in the premiership should see our finances soar up towards £100m. Then come the 3rd season, il look to invest a bit more.

What does everyone think? Will my finances largely be increased from tv revenues etc in the Premiership. Am i right to not trust the transfer budget given to me?

Only just come across this story, its a cracking read! Certainly scoring some goals arent you!
Shame about the FA cup semi mate, just about the worst team you could lose to i guess.

Good luck in the premier league !!

The board have automatically announced plans to install under-soil heating. The fact theyve done this without me requesting must be because its something the club needs being in the premierleague?
At only £2m though we cant grumble. Improving the infrastructure is a must.

View attachment 308523

Again the board have automatically deiced to improve the youth category rating from 2 to 1.
This is essential to improving our youth players. Playing week in week out against better opposition will only improve them more.

View attachment 308524
Now, i dont know what the **** is happening here, but apparently we currently have a new stadium being built?!?!
Its due to finish in 3 years time, i havnt received any messages about this. So im guessing it might just be a fault with the game and its actually supposed to be the undersoil heating!

Considering one of my philosophies at the club by request at the beginning of the season is to develop our own youth players. I decided that requesting improved youth facilities and training facilities as well as increasing our junior budget are a must.
Becoming a premier league club, we need to really improve all of our facilities to help us in the long run.
The junior budget and training facilities were accepted, however the request for improved youth facitlities was rejected due to not having enough funds.

I have got a decent budget for next season. But i dont feel i need to invest TOO much to survive in the premierleague. So im happy to spend most of the balance elsewhere in the club.

In the long run it will surely mean better players coming through our youth intake and our players improving greatly to reach their full potential. Being a new club in the top league, i accept we will probably be just a feeder club for the big guns as they come in for our talent. But if that means we are making alot of money whilst also staying in the premier league, il be happy!

Thanks alot mate, appreciate it.
I havnt seen many stories on Ipswich Town so i figured it would be a good one to start.

Tell me about it, i really thought i would have been in the fa cup final in all honesty!
The quit and reload option has never felt so necessary haha. But as this is a manager story, staying honest in the game makes it a bit more realistic viewing for everybody!

After beating Burnley and Man Utd in the fa cup, im hoping that means we have enough about us to survive!

Thanks for reading, hope you keep updated with the story :)

No, dont think i've seen an Ipswich story yet either.
Such a shame, chances are you'd have got European football by getting into the final too! Definitly better playing the game honestly though.
I'll definitely be following mate, any idea on transfers for the premiership?

If you get chance by the way, I'd appreciate if you could give my story a quick read :)

Fantastic news for the club as Young player of the year Jack Grealish extends his loan spell for another whole season.
Also O'Connell has extended his loan spell for another year.

Jack Grealish became an integral part of squad for us. Playing in 41 games and contributing 4 goals and 2 assists in all competitions. Jack also made an early impression on the Ireland manager as his form at Ipswich earnt him his debut for senior national squad. He went on to make 5 appearances, scoring 4 goals and setting up 2.

Daryl Murphy earns the recognition his form thoroughly deserves. He has been the main the player for Ipswich this season and the tractor boys will no doubt look back on as his goals as the catalyst for the success the club has had this season.
Winning player of the year and the top goalscorer will hold a special place in Murphys heart as at the ripe old age of 32, this is Daryl Murphys most successful season of his playing career.

View attachment 308489
Jack Grealish turned in some genius performances for Ipswich this season. He was responsible for assisting a whopping 22 goals for Ipswich in the league this season. Earning young player of the year will delight Jack and his parent club Aston Villa as they will be extremely happy with his development this season.
Ipswich towns successful bid of retaining the youngster will give fans hope that they can eventually purchase the youngster permanently.
Jack Grealish has been heard saying that, although he has been absolutely loving his time in Suffolk. Hes goal from the outset was to impress his main manager at Aston Villa and that still remains.

With Aston Villa losing their place in top tier of English football and being relegated to The Championship, if they fail to return to the Premier league. Ipswich Town manager George Burley will more than fancy his chances of stealing the young wonderkid for a cut price figure.
Once next season is over, Grealish will be in his last year of contract at Villa park. It will be interesting to see if Ipswich can persuade Jack to make the permanent move to East Anglia.

Team of the year for 2014/15 includes 3 Ipswich players; Tommy Smith, Jack Grealish & Daryl Murphy. Dean Gerkin & Connor Sammon (on loan from Derby) make the subs bench.

Manager of the year goes to Leeds Manager Darko Milanic.
Both Ipswich and Leeds who secured automatic promotion to the Premiership were predicted to finish 14th and 10th respectively.
George Burley may feel agrieved at not winning this accolade, considering his side were to finish lower than Leeds and also including their magnificent run in the FA CUP.

Ups & Downs

View attachment 308491
Manuel Pellegrini will be happy to have retained the Premier League. Louis Van Gaal ensured Champions League football would return to Old Trafford next season. Arsene Wenger remains one of the most consistent managers in world football as he makes sure Arsenal win a top 4 finish yet again. Liverpool remain in the top 4 following their 2nd place finish last season. The special one Jose Mourinho wont be feeling too special as him and his Chelsea side will have to make due with Europe League football next season. Whether Roman Abramovic will keep his patience with Mourinho is yet to be seen. But you would have to fear for his job considering Romans history of sacking managers ***** nilly.

Relegated from The Premiership are Aston Villa, Stoke City & Crystal Palace.
Aston Villa and Stoke City will be disapointed to be going down a division this year especially as they were predicted to finish 14th and 15th. Crystal Palace were predicted to finish 18th and get relegated. The other two sides who were predicted to face the drop were Leicester City and Burnley. They will be ecstatic to have survived. More so Leicester City who remarkably only narrowly missed out on a place in europe by 6 points!

Taking their place in English footballs top tier are Ipswich Town, Leeds Utd & Nottingham Forest.

Predicted to finish 1st and 2nd were Norwich and Cardiff. Norwich lost out in the semi finals of the playoffs to eventual winners Forest. But they will have a runners up medal in FA CUP to look back on with pride after losing to Everton in the fa cup final.
Cardiff were massive underachievers. Tipped to make an instant return to the premierleague, they instead face a 2nd consecutive relegation. Proving just how difficult this Championship is becoming. The 2 teams joining Cardiff in League one next year Rotherham and Blackpool. Both these sides were expected to struggle and get relegated so there were no surprises there.
