you definatly got ripped off a laptop that old, possibly not even a gigabyte of ram, still uses DRR memory, a hard drive that runs at 4200 rpms is not worth 450, it probably worth 150 and thats pushing it. I bought a dual core laptop 4 gb of ram 500gb HDD running at 7200 rpms for 450 new. You made a bad deal but tis will probably be good for 1 - 3 leagues running at a decently fast speed on a small to meduim database.

Are you sure you linked the right page there? That laptop is rather old and I don't think it has a 7600 that you say it does...

But to answer your question, basically, the CPU/RAM is more important outside the ME, for calculation fixture results ect and storing all the data the game is using. The graphics card only really comes into play in FM in the ME.

is the page your looking at is about HP Pavilion dv8000? if yes then its correct , it says GEFORCE*GO 7600 on my laptop

beneath the lapyop it should have a label with indformation on it look for a model number and post it here. Multiple laptops have GEFORCE*GO 7600 in it, it the video card

This is an old laptop, its specs will struggle to run FM if you load more than a hadnful of leagues.

IMO its not worth anywhere near £450, especially second hand.

If it is the correct one, you and more so your friend, got really ripped off. This laptop was made in like 2005 :S

So, basically I agree with AndCura's first post.

ok thanks i will give it him back tomorrow... was looking at pcworld and i could get 8gb ram PC for 450pounds.... well ripped off.

And 1 more question, how much do you think that laptop is worth now?

No more than 150. And 150 is really pushing it IMO.

You should give him a nice little slap. i would be very generous if i payed 150 for that.

okay i will inform u tomorrow what happens and btw i payed him 50pound already and i still didnt get a charger for it that hes ordered 3 days ago from bangkok...

RIPPED

the post was made in 2006 and it says its around $1000 which atm is £663 and im sure it would have gone down more then £200. I got my laptop for £399 like a month ago and has same graphics and everything as a £800 gaming laptop i see so you deffinalty got ripped off. If i where you give it back and get your £50 go somewhere like PC world and have a chat with them about them and get a better deal

To be honest, there are MUCH better things out there. Friend? Either he knows **** about computers, or he ripped you off.

which laptop would you recommend buying for fm11,games like CoD,CS.
Movies.

Budget is 450pound.

When i mean FM i want about 10 leagues with a large database

try looking at the Dell Inspiron Range....for £450 you should be able to get a Dell. I just bought one with 4GB RAM, 500GB HD, Intel Graphics and dual core etc.etc.. for £480 and FM 10 with multiple leagues no problem and so they say FM11 will not take much more resource. your Mate ???...stitched you....

I got my pc custom built by a pc company (the companies you find in the phone books (PC home refair and upgrades ect) maybe thinking about that could be a idea or http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/pcs/?gclid=CNP11fe-9aQCFQX92Aod1kY1iQ

I think that's the same on most laptops, upgrading not as straight forward as with a PC. I've had Dell's for a while, and they're very good and for the price range very few can compare. I'm hoping I'll get a few years out of this spec, my PC gave me 5 good years before it's single processor started to struggle, so if I get the same out of this I'll be happy......I'll check out of interest how much they quote me, but pretty sure you get compatible upgrade from the likes of crucial.com for a fraction of the price....Dell do like to flog their own stuff...
